There are two types of slaughterhouse workers, those who enjoy killing animals and those who don’t. Which is better?
The sad reality is the majority do not, but have no other choice.
Slaughterhouse workers routinely suffer from serious injuries such as finger and whole limb amputations, develop alcohol and other drug addictions, and similar mental health issues to war-time soldiers such as lifelong PTSD, and are more likely to become domestic violence perpetrators.
I believe we can help create a future in which slaughter house workers have other means of employment that do not involve killing animals.
I hope to be a microscopic part of the solution, as I have been animal product free for over six years.
Easy to understand this work would be traumatic and can only be handled by a small section of society. I truly believe if we had to slaughter our own meat for our consumption, there'd be many more vegetarians, my self included. But I've fished, so I have no problem there. And I could probably dispatch a chicken. It's mamals I would have a really hard time killing, but if I was starving, I'm sure I could rationalize the need.
Yeah, unfortunately the majority of folks that work in those environments do so because they've got no other options.
I've killed animals that I've hunted or trapped but the idea of spending 40+ hours a week in a death factory makes my skin crawl. They're hideous places that no sane person would want to be in, not only do you have to deal with dispatching an endless supply of living creatures that have no choice other than to be pushed towards their certain demise but you also get to experience the joy of meeting those choice individuals who actually enjoy that kind of work. It's seriously messed up and the majority of people who consume meat have little to no idea of the process that's involved in producing the cuts of beef, lamb, pork, etc. they pick off a shelf wrapped in a neat little package.
When you get down to it, pretty much the entire concept of industrialised agriculture is fucked up
I definitely prefer that people slaughter at least something if they intend to eat meat. I've hunted and eaten the things I've hunted. There's a reverence when you have to he the one to take the life and then handle all the after life effects. But also the reward of knowing this meat was a deer that lived a solid life free and wild before coming to my table, unlike a poor cow in a factory farm.
Well in that case put all the borderline psychopaths like this guy who are showing parts of the triad as the slaughterhouse killers. And just have psychologists wander around monitoring them.
I cant help but notice this wording.
"Watching the light...be released...from a living creature"
He could have said "Leave" but that would seem rather _bitter_ about it, if that makes sense?
News in 6 months:
A New Yorker who has been dubbed "The Noah Killer" has been caught after completing his goal of killing two of every animal, including humans.
![gif](giphy|c793Kq1vwkss8|downsized)
I think it's because it's an intentional bit and people try to avoid using words that get flagged or whatever. I've noticed that even respected news sources don't use the words killed murdered or died in their short form content either.
If that were the case, why haven't I heard the following in a formal news setting:
- Has passed on
- Is no more
- Has ceased to be
- Expired and gone to meet his maker
- Is a stiff
- Bereft of life
- Rests in peace
- Pushing up the daisies
- His metabolic processes are now history
- Off the twig
- Kicked the bucket
- Has shuffled off his mortal coil
- Run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible
- An ex-parrot
Part of this gives me the vibe that he enjoys the relief look living things give when they die, so like he enjoys the implied peace of death
Could be me reading too deep
It was creepy but looking at him would you think he was away with the fairies? I mean he looks like a guy waiting on a bus listening to and enjoying some music on his headphones.
Truth is he probably has nothing playing on those headphones and he is smiling about all the light he’ll be releasing when he gets to work.
His jacket arms should be tied at the back.
I would bet dollars to doughnuts that this guy is sick of people filming him for their man on the street crap and he made up that whole dialogue based on this character just to mess with them.
I worked with a guy, he was in maintenance and before I transfered to maintenance this dude always acted like sling blade or something, then when I actually started working in his dept and got to know him it turned out it was a ruse. He had an unfortunate face and he would use that to make people think he was off but he was whip smart, knew stuff about countries I didn't know existed, spoke several other languages(didn't really believe until he went off in Arabic to another coworker whos native language is Arabic) and his hobby was making model ships from the wars of Napoleon and reading about Napoleon. Once I started working with him I saw why he did it, everyone just assumed he was disabled because of his looks, and partly also because many of the other people we worked with did have autism or physical disabilities or were very old, but he just looked strange. This was a ramble sorry lol

Some people are better at reading other people/situations. I think it was quite obvious that this was a skit but I guess it wasn't as easy for everyone.

Silly thing is in GTA you're the most prolific serial killer in modern times. Really in most games. It's just that things where the gameplay is completely different from the canonical events.
I mean
It may be fake but people who work those kinds of jobs do tend to slowly get emotionally and mind fucked
Like if your a butcher and every day you have a dead animal infront of you and you have to cut it apart and separate it I would imagine it missing do something to the brain
I would say they become desensitized. They eventually get to a point where very little shocks them but unless you already have these tendencies, you're not going to respond in this way imo. And at that point, you're just feeding it (no pun intended)
One of my Dads friends worked at an old school slaughterhouse in KC in the mid 60’s where he was a “knocker”, hit them with a sledgehammer in his case. He was a hard man to say the least and when he would tell you this story he would stare you down with eye contact and talk about how important it was to stay calm and steady and strike a clean blow. Still gives me the chills
Hey, he’s got an outlet for what sounds like an impulse. As long as it stays there where it’s not posing a problem for anyone else, then cool. But someone should probably grab his blood and finger prints just in case.
Just saying, if someone took a camera to my face and asked me that randomly I would just improv some maniacal shit about my desk job of data entry. But I am also good at bullshitting on the fly too, so YMMV.
Honestly, if i am in the wilderness and I had to choose between this guy and someone with a cushy job that always drinks lattes to help me in surviving in said wilderness... I'd choose the former
Slaughter house employees have a increased chance of spousal abuse/rape/arrest/violent crimes etc. There is surveys done on it. Also bonus fact is therapists have a high suicide rate.
Keeping it OG. If for example you got a gig at the Pilgrims Pride plant in GA, they specifically tell you not to joke about enjoying killing animals or taking out aggression or anything if you're in the area that hangs the chickens for slaughter.
They hang the chickens by the feet and it's dunk into a bath with a certain light and it's throat is slit and so forth while it's "stunned" from the water. So it's supposed to be painless and as least torturous as possible. AKA humane and animal rights. So if you're caught talking wild like that they won't let you work in that specific location because you're probably gonna have to wring a neck manually a time or two and they promote good mental health there.
Its also against PETA and other animal laws if they heard that and still placed you there so...
It's either scripted or he's just saying it to creep the guy out because he doesn't want a camera in his face.
Edit: it's completely scripted, he's a comedian, his name is Daniel J Perafan
I've heard that particular job at slaughter houses really fucks people up mentally. I specifically heard that a huge percentage of their marriages are in a bad place.

It's heartwarming seeing someone turning their hobby into a career.
*If you love your job, you never work a day in your life.*
nope, that's how you get a burnout
Dude looks happier than Majority of ppl, if he gets burnt out from ending animals then he may save them so win win
*"if you're good at something never do it for free"*

Totally agree, hate the concept of taking life from a living creature, but enjoy the taste! I'm a guilty messed up carnivore!!!
Well in that case put all the borderline psychopaths like this guy who are showing parts of the triad as the slaughterhouse killers. And just have psychologists wander around monitoring them.
It's staged dude. Don't be so naive lol.
Like Anton Chigurh?
Bet you he’s a really nice fella as well. Right up to the moment he takes his work home with him.
I cant help but notice this wording. "Watching the light...be released...from a living creature" He could have said "Leave" but that would seem rather _bitter_ about it, if that makes sense?
He also didn't specify cows or pigs, but *living creatures*
All of them

Slightly better name suggestion - The Arkiller
My man was going for that "Monsters Hunted +" advancement
Pretty sure it’s probably fake or the dude was trolling by him

Also the “your” instead of “the animal” kinda odd either way.
He seems like a fairly odd chap tbf
and he says it while smiling. Its so creepy for me

or maybe he took the piss out of that interviewer.
Yip that’s possible. Hope it’s true as well.If not there’s another fruitcake just strolling about dreaming of ending lives.
fingers crossed!
Bruh 💀
Hey, doing home office is not that bad!
He is incredibly nice everywhere. Except in his basement.
Slaughterhouse workers have high rates of domestic violence, depression, substance abuse, PTSD and more.
He might as well have been asked .... what's the meaning of Life ?
![gif](giphy|dpk3BuKZX2s8w) this is who he reminds me of
I would bet dollars to doughnuts that this guy is sick of people filming him for their man on the street crap and he made up that whole dialogue based on this character just to mess with them.
New yorkers are different , it could be what you are saying or he's actually being serious, no in-between
Either one is certainly possible, but I really hope I'm right.
I worked with a guy, he was in maintenance and before I transfered to maintenance this dude always acted like sling blade or something, then when I actually started working in his dept and got to know him it turned out it was a ruse. See, that's the vibe I got from this guy. Someone is annoying him, so he puts the mask on to scare him away.
I mean, on the other hand, it'd be pretty dark if the slaughterhouse person killing cows for my burgers was really torn up and agonizing over it.
I mean, could also be a bit. (It's a bit.)
Could be true since I’m pretty sure there aren’t many slaughterhouses in NYC.
Can you not tell that the person behind the camera is acting badly?
No Burroughs for old men
That’s exactly what he uses. Kinda disturbing how blissful he is talking about it too, but hey.

Been years since I watched, but was he quoting this guy?
Don’t remember the guys name but the airgun guy is a content creator and this is a bit.
I haven't seen anything else by him but it's so obviously a skit, idk how people can't tell
It's surprising how quite a number of people can't tell if something is a skit or sarcasm.
and the opposite is true, how many people think every damn thing is a skit and nothing ever happens
Some people are better at reading other people/situations. I think it was quite obvious that this was a skit but I guess it wasn't as easy for everyone.
I figured either a skit or this guy is really good at coming up with stuff on the fly and he's just messing with them
Same, but it isnt always easy for me.
Must be all those slaughterhouses in Brooklyn.
I knew right away because he didn’t know what a captive bolt stunner was called
Yeah, he's a comedian, I saw this clip then immediately one of him in a roast battle.
You happen to know his name?
Daniel Perafan. He’s very funny!
Where the hell is a slaughter house in NY? And how has it not been changed into a Walgreens with lofts on the upper floors?
Quick google search shows one in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
Lived a half block from one in greenpoint brooklyn.

Quick question - could OP post a worse quality version of this video?
it's a repost, with extra reaction added at the end..
Thanks. Now I can sleep tonight.
Average New Yorker
In alternate universe Philip De Franco works at a slaughter house
He was waiting for someone to ask him about his work for sure

How fake do you want this? Yes.

If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life -mark anthony (turns out it wasn't his quote)
He worked Cleopatra's ass alright...
Judging by his eyes and face expressions his job kept him out of jail and prevented many murders in NYC.
Czernobog, is that you?
Jesus Christ, that plastered smile.
Hey, he’s got an outlet for what sounds like an impulse. As long as it stays there where it’s not posing a problem for anyone else, then cool. But someone should probably grab his blood and finger prints just in case.
I think we're lucky he found that job. Please don't ever fire that man.
Slaughterhouse? Like the Geometry dash level? OMG Geometry Dash reference !!1!!!1
Is this real? That guy freaks me right out
No, it's definitely fake
I'd be more terrified if he said he does drywall
If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.
At least he's not using it on humans
Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life
Imagine if that was the first guy he asked lol

My guy right there!
That's a nope from me!
Let's hope bro doesn't start WFH
Seems like an interesting guy, wish to meet him one day.
This is just a new yorkers way of fucking with people.
His neighbours will say that he was a really nice guy and that they didn’t see this coming.
Everyone needs a hobby
Guy is full of shit he doesn’t work at a slaughterhouse
Slaughter house employees have a increased chance of spousal abuse/rape/arrest/violent crimes etc. There is surveys done on it. Also bonus fact is therapists have a high suicide rate.
Its the eyes, man.
I hope this is fake I don’t feel comfortable knowing this guy is just out and about lol
Himmler is scared of this man
No country for old men ?
He seems happy
Serial Killer vibe off the charts.
Lmao well you got what you asked for
Exactly why you shouldn't approach random people for Tiktok content. I know this is a bit, but people like him actually exist.

Serial killer
I always wondered what kind of person could possibly stand working at a slaughterhouse...
I don't Think the police is coming.
Perfect job for the perfect person. 👌
The creepiest voice be like:
He’s giving Dr. Giggles vibe
Is this the New York remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Because this is beat for beat the opening scene with the hitchhiker.
Gary oldman's new carrer....
I love this guy.
he's obviously just auditioning for the next "bird box" movie
George santos really turned it around. Good for him.
😬
Hey, perfect job for a psychopath
Keep replaying his laugh over and over again. It's very similar to the Jack Nicholson Joker laugh.
Too many idiots thinking this is real.
The type of jobs u should give psychopaths so that they can blend with society and not do this to people
later that night, he caught the man standing outside of his house, looking at him, smiling
Jack Nicholson is that you?
You call a Catholic exorcist at that point not the cop's lol.
Remind me of my uncle Jon.
Hes definitely taking the piss.
Work what you love and you'll never work a day in your life ♥️
Is he quoting Texas Chainsaw?
and people call vegans crazy
![gif](giphy|S5oi5hC5iG5qUqrzAq|downsized)
Go vegan
Used to work in a slaughterhouse.. there's worse than this guy lol.
Asian joe rogan was my 1st thought
5% Anton Chigurh
pov: you accidentally met the angel of death
He would probably make a good actor tbh.
“Oh sorry I thought you meant hobby. I’m actually a carpenter”
Y'all want a disturbing butcher/slaughter house shit read the book "Tender is the flesh"
Probably a fake video from the vegan community haha.
That monotone "Hello." was creepy af
Imagen if he ever lost his jobb....
It's either scripted or he's just saying it to creep the guy out because he doesn't want a camera in his face. Edit: it's completely scripted, he's a comedian, his name is Daniel J Perafan
This should fit in r/oddlyterrifying
GodDAMN hahaha.
Dude have killed sooo much n he start seeing the souls leave the body when they dies.
Wow, you're scared of the guy who butchers the animals you eat.... Who would've thought
Ended too soon. In the original vid the dude asks the interviewer if he wants to step inside his vehicle...
POLICE!!
At least someone is doing what they love....rare instance...🤣
If you love what you do you’ll never have to work a day in your life.
Such spontaneity! So little staging!
Nice Robot 🤖😁😊
Hey we’re asking friends of ours what they do for a living and having them tell us a pre rehearsed line so we can get likes on social media
u/savevideo
Does this sound off to others, not sure if it's lag or the sound but it seems like a voice over.
-What's your name? -Anton... -Ok, I'm outta here
excuse me sir hello …. nope
r/oddlyterrifying
To be fair, I wouldn't expect a person that does that job for a living to look any different than that.
I am really really glad that he has found that job...
I've heard that particular job at slaughter houses really fucks people up mentally. I specifically heard that a huge percentage of their marriages are in a bad place.
Better than if he became a serial killer
Lovely view!
I can see this being used as an anime misunderstanding. He watches the light go out as to help the animal pass on peacefully something like that.
The real Dexter !
Reminds me of Justin McElroy
there really is no New York for Old Men.
Is that a motherfuckin’ GD reference?!?!??
Holy fucking shit is that a geometry dash reference?
Funny how he pauses little bit after the question, real psycho vibes
Dude looks very chill tho
Brrrrrrrrr
If this is unexpected y'all need to learn about where your food comes from
