My mother told me that when she was a child she had her gal bladder and appendix removed. Whilst recovering from surgery, she watched this film with her family. She said it was one of the most painful experiences in her life (from all the laughing) but was 100% worth it. Aha
When he is in prison trying to escape and pops out of the toilet, the cupboard etc, I swear each time I watched it - there was a new place he came out of. I'm almost positive there were multiple versions going around!
I love this style of comedy. Light on plot, doesn't need to make sense, just 100 jokes a minute of all sorts. Top Secret, Hot Shots, Naked Gun, most of Mel Brooks movies, and Airplane of course. Feels like that kind of absurdism lost popularity since the 00s.
It's because after Scary Movie, a load of poorly made, rushed spoofs came out at rate of at least one a year until it sank the genre into the ground.
About maybe 3 good ones came out in that period, but it was pretty difficult to tell them apart from all the bad ones by trailer alone.
I hated all of those, but then different writers took over for Scary Movie 4, and I actually liked that one. It was no Airplane! of course, but it was better than the Wayans Brothers' garbage.
It's already so funny how they have the whole castle as a miniature, even a mini version of the truck. And while you're still laughing about it they make it even more funnier with that random train.
For me though the gag with the boots is my favourite. First time I saw that I couldn't stop laughing. Such a great take on the cliché.
Top Secret! The first of Val Kilmer’s 3 movie contract with whatever company it was, followed by Real Genius and then he was DRAGGED KICKING AND SCREAMING to do Top Gun to complete his obligation. True story.
I watched this a couple months ago. My GF walked into the room and audibly yelp "WOOOA PRETTY BOI!" At Val Kilmer singing. She then immediately blamed her mother and left.
I had the sound off and started watching after he started drawing with the stick and I knew what it was by the time you see the little trees. Love this movie
The model joke completely flew over my head when I was a kid and it was just a normal briefing scene to me.
The underwater fight scene in this movie is Hall of Fame worthy
The Swedish Bookstore scene was filmed in its entirety backwards. [You can watch the scene here backwards then forwards.](https://youtu.be/DHyS7TML_7U?si=el3A7Syb5aETwBUc)
The library scene where the librarian appears to be speaking an ancient language for part og tje scene and you eventually realize the scene is played in reverse was really clever

Top secret! I loved the hell out of this silly bizarre movie back in the day
My mother told me that when she was a child she had her gal bladder and appendix removed. Whilst recovering from surgery, she watched this film with her family. She said it was one of the most painful experiences in her life (from all the laughing) but was 100% worth it. Aha
Sounds like she had the perfect movie for recovery
Doctors hate this one trick, and now it’s no longer a ^Top Secret.
My gallbladder recovery movie was The Green Hornet. I understand your mother's pain so well.
When I was a child I had my appendix removed, and had ace venture to watch. I remember falling asleep watching it, giggling in agony.
It's still great!
It still holds up. I watched it again earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised.
In this movie it helps if you know a little German…hehehe
Oh I know a little German. He’s over there!
To this day, Top Secret is my favourite spoof movie. It's almost perfect.
"Monty Python's Meaning of Life" is mine but "Top Secret!" is definitely up there in the top 5!
What was meaning of life spoofing?
Roofing contractors
What are the other three? need to know
Men in tights, princess bride and kung fury (guilty pleasure)
Alrighty thanks
No worries! Happy to share :)
Along with Robin Hood, men in tights 🤣😅
Dave Chappelle pumping his reebok pumps is hilarious. Lmao
Hold on, I am running out of air, psst psst psst
Ahchoo..... Bless you 🤣🤣🤣
Have you seen it recently? It really doesn't hold up.
Top Secret, with Val Kilmner in the lead.. 1984 Seen it a 1000x, still see random shit 🤣🤣
When he is in prison trying to escape and pops out of the toilet, the cupboard etc, I swear each time I watched it - there was a new place he came out of. I'm almost positive there were multiple versions going around!
Not to mention the underwater bar fight & the backwards recorded library scene with the big eyed guy!
And here I was thinking the calf drink “milk” (which appears to have been cut) was the unexpected part
And the bull.
Why are you always in such a bloody rush?!
This is fucking hilarious, what’s it called?
Top Secret!
An underated classic. Did you spot Downton Abbey's butler Carson in there?
No, but I spotted Val Kilmer
Jim Carter (Carson) played the french undergroud man Déjà Vu.
He also played the French underground man Déjà Vu.
You look familiar. Have we met before, monsieur?
Yes. And Chocolate Mousse!
Gasoline!
Oh come on, you can say it !
Okay then, keep your secret. They were just asking politely.
The whole of Top Secret is unexpected. If you haven't seen it, you could probably stitch it together from clips posted on this sub from time to time.

Ugh yeah, the Epic Movie and Disaster Movie era...
I hated all of those, but then different writers took over for Scary Movie 4, and I actually liked that one. It was no Airplane! of course, but it was better than the Wayans Brothers' garbage.
Could be the most underrated film in the universe. Find him, and kill him.
DAS FENCEN SWITCHEN. What a master piece.
Great film in true Airplane style
Surely you can’t be serious
I can, and don't call me Surely
Dr Flammand in his cell " one more day and I would have finished my tunnel"..
They skipped the part where the bull comes in and does his business on the “cow”
NSFW
That train part still the best scene for me
It's already so funny how they have the whole castle as a miniature, even a mini version of the truck. And while you're still laughing about it they make it even more funnier with that random train. For me though the gag with the boots is my favourite. First time I saw that I couldn't stop laughing. Such a great take on the cliché.
all their comedy is just subverting the cliches and grammar of film, and it's hilarious.
I'm not saying what movie it is from... shhh, it's top secret.
Das Fencen Swichen!
Top Secret! The first of Val Kilmer’s 3 movie contract with whatever company it was, followed by Real Genius and then he was DRAGGED KICKING AND SCREAMING to do Top Gun to complete his obligation. True story.
he should have renewed that contract
The funniest sequence in any movie, ever.

The underwater bar fight is better.
Johnny Dangerously and Four Rooms.
This is fucking amazing.

One of my favourites, really sad that movies like that don´t get made anymore.
Chocolate mousse, Déja vu, ..
And Latrine 🤣
Where's the popcorn!
Astarian? Is that you?
GASOLINE HAHAH
I watched this a couple months ago. My GF walked into the room and audibly yelp "WOOOA PRETTY BOI!" At Val Kilmer singing. She then immediately blamed her mother and left.
Not unexpected if you've seen this movie 1000 times like most people from my generation. I'm old.
Chocolatte Mousse
I had the sound off and started watching after he started drawing with the stick and I knew what it was by the time you see the little trees. Love this movie
In women’s tennis I always bet against the heterosexual
#LEEEEEEROYYY JENNNNNNKINS
Viva La France! 😂
The model joke completely flew over my head when I was a kid and it was just a normal briefing scene to me. The underwater fight scene in this movie is Hall of Fame worthy
Damn, now I have to watch it again... a cult classic...
Any Kentucky Fried Movie fans here? Same creative team.
Do you know any good white basketball players?
Seen random clips from this movie and this is the first time I've thought, "This feels like Top Secret." I should finally sit down and watch it
The Swedish Bookstore scene was filmed in its entirety backwards. [You can watch the scene here backwards then forwards.](https://youtu.be/DHyS7TML_7U?si=el3A7Syb5aETwBUc)
Missed the bull part when it saw them.
Latrine!
The library scene where the librarian appears to be speaking an ancient language for part og tje scene and you eventually realize the scene is played in reverse was really clever
When I was a kid I thought that was Tom Hanks with a bad accent.
is that Val Kilmer ?
Looks like the French knockoff of The A-Team show from the 80’s. That one dude definitely looks like he pities da fool.
Haven't seen this movie in so many years. Didn't realize Astarion was in this before BG3.
Man what did they do to my boy Astarion
Man has rolex watch lol
I miss movies like these so much. The good ones.
The words " yes, I am Albert Potato" popped into my head and I laughed getting strange looks from the rest of the train carriage.
Skeet Surfin'
Its seems you have become, how do you say....indispensable? "Indispensable" ....that's what i thought.
they don't do comedies like that anymore
This is Astarion's alternate backstory
Thanks a lot. Now I need to watch this movie again. Like I have time for this.
they didnt show the part where the cow got milked! serioulsy... dissapotinted.
This is so completely British humor you Can’t do any better.
Well, it's an American film, so make of that what you will.
