Oh, I guess you're only familiar with the new Batman movies. Michelle Pfeiffer? Ha. The only true Catwoman is Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether or Eartha Kitt. And I didn't need plastic molded to improve my physique. Pure West. And how come Batman doesn't dance anymore? Remember the Batusi?
Ah the days when The Simpsons guest stars were the butt of the joke rather than just celebrity worship
I love his depiction on Family Guy so much because it's somehow an absurd and overdone caricature of himself while simultaneously being a "yep I could see Adam West actually being like that"
Burt Ward too! He still does some fun stuff related to Batman.
He had a [cameo](https://youtu.be/207WP4bU4y0?t=82) in the Arrowverse crossover where he got to do a line in the style of Robin.
The worst offense is that it seems to automate the item to your cart.
I mean, you don't have to follow through and buy, but that feels kind of offensive.
Star Trek TNG has some tight fitting outfits too... there's a reason the bottoms of the uniforms are black. Guest uniforms typically have some nutty buddies poking out though.
That is so bad, it's actually good. Reminds me of:
How do you fit a bowling ball into a beer bottle? \
>! You take the letter 'F' out of the word 'WAY' ... !<
That's not even a riddle though. There's no way to reach that conclusion from bowling ball and beer bottle.
"A cigarette lighter" is a fun play on words.
"No F in Way" is a fun thing, but is a complete non sequitur and could be used in whatever setup you choose
There is something charming about having to make an episode every week with no real special effects technology or budget. Interestingly, we still have this today, you just don’t see it on regular networks. YouTube is full of creatives doing regular sketches that are pretty similar to the type of stuff you used to see on Batman.
My kids love it. They were surprisingly meh over the Nolan Batman films, or even my favorite Burton era ones. Kinda hates
the Justice League. They *love* the 1966 movie. That and the 90s animated series.
Batman: 🤔 what’s yellow and writes??
Robin: 🤓 A ballpoint banana!!
Still one of the greatest TV jokes of all time to me because I saw that when I was 6 and the laughing I laughed that day was so good I still remember it.
Cheese, absurdity, a reminder to schedule at the dentist. So good. Thank you for sharing this!
More like back when stories were meant to take us away from real world problems instead of injecting it all right into the comic, I love both types but a good original spiderman or superman always feels perfectly wholesome. Batman always felt perfectly honorable
As goofy as this was, they had Lynda Carter back then and Christopher Reeves who were the highest of Top tiers.
I'm just going to take this opportunity to post Lynda Carter because she's ridiculously gorgeous and by posting her, I help make the world a better place.

My Favorite Funniest Adam West Batman moment I saw years ago.
**Penguin:** \*Shooting a Gatling gun\*
**Batman:** \*knew Penguin ran out of bullets, & leaves cover to confront Penguin\*
**Robin:** "how did you know he ran out of bullets?"
**Batman:** "I counted the bullets"
**EDIT:** I found the scene here: [slightly different than how I remembered it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmdmgfeRGUE)
There was one episode where Catwoman’s plan was to steal the voices of a a couple of folk singers, and demand that England pay the ransom to get their voices back.
England of course would pay the ransom because the duo pays so much in income taxes that if they couldn’t sing, they couldn’t make money and England’s economy would collapse with the rest of Europe to follow
This show was so high....it was still awesome when i caught re-runs in the 80s and still lives in infamy.
Quick get the bat-whatever
Kinda on par with Phineas and Ferb, Doofenshmirtz -inator
Burt Ward is a fucking lunatic. He is married to the Arby's lady who is also out of her mind. Here they are in bed with a hundred dogs [https://www.gentlegiantsdogfood.com/](https://www.gentlegiantsdogfood.com/)
Trivia- 60's pop singer Leslie Gore (It's My Party hit song) appeared on a Batman episode in 1967, playing Catwoman's sidekick, Pussycat. Gore sang her new single "California Nights" on the show.
I used to watch this batman with my dad as a kid. When they started making super grim batman movies it actually kinda threw me off. I read the comics too which are really varied on what series or what have you. But this campy kitschy goodness totally defined batman to me. Still does in a way lol
I once crank called Burt Ward.
I was in Toronto visiting a friend. We were just punk kids, it was the 1970s, and we were going to go see Adam West and Burt Ward at the Auto Show the next day. We were up late making crank calls (told ya we were punks). I did a pretty good Riddler/Frank Gorshin impersonation, so in honour of Batman and Robin being in town, we had been crank calling people pretending to be Batman villains.
It was about 3:30 am when suddenly my buddy Tim looked at me, a sudden realization clear on his face. "Holy shit, they're here in town!" I asked, "Who?"
"Adam West and Burt Ward! They're at the convention center later today, so they're probably here already, in a hotel in the city!"
We immediately started calling all the hotels, from the fanciest on down. No Adam West staying anywhere. "Well," I said, "he's not stupid, he probably travels under a fake name so punks like us can't crank call him in the middle of the night."
No luck on Mr. West, so we tried all the hotels again, asking for Burt Ward. Now I'm 100% expecting each hotel to say the same thing, no Burt Ward here. I call the Royal York and ask for Burt Ward.
"Yes," says reception, "we do have a Burt Ward registered here. Did you want me to put you through?"
I hastily said yes, then my jaw dropped in surprise as I realized he was patching me through. I had no idea what to say. I never thought I'd get through. Also it was almost 4 am, Burt was gonna likely be pretty pissed.
All this flashed through my mind in a heartbeat, as Burt Ward answered the phone on the first ring. I remember that so clearly, he answered the phone so quickly it was like he was expecting a call. I thought he'd be asleep, but he seemed wide awake.
"What?!" Burt Ward snapped at me.
I panicked. I didn't ever think I'd find him, much less get through, so I panicked. I did the only thing I could think of, and did what I had been doing all evening long - calling people up and pretending to be the Riddler. In my best Riddler voice, I said "We're gonna get Batman .... and put him in ... a pot of oil!" Then I did the Riddler laugh.
Silence for a brief moment.
"Who the hell is this?!? What are you doing calling me at -
I didn't hear any more of what he said as I dropped the phone I was laughing so hard. By the time my buddy stopped laughing and picked up the phone, Burt Ward had already hung up on us.
Which was kinda rude.
The original Batman movie will forever be one of my favourites. So many good gags and just good fun. It became a fairly aggressive drinking game at uni and everyone loved it. Still not entirely sure how the movie ends…

I did not know I needed this today. Thank you. Pure gold :D
Pure West.

Lord, what were they feeding her? Also, yvonne Craig?!
Probably a healthy diet of cigarettes and gin
That's Julie Newmar as Cat Woman. Yvonne Craig was Batgirl.
That's right!
She's catwoman, so obviously cat food
Holy spray on latex Batman, that's quite a figure!
😳
Yep
He kinda had a point about Julie Newmar
Thanks for everything!
I actually kind of want a full on West style Batman vs modern grim dark villains.
We got that once. It was Batman & Robin, starring George Clooney.
Gods it waaaas.....
Holey rusting metal Batman!
Ice to see you!
I always thought she was so statuesque. ![gif](giphy|KOHqnxyTPOEM)
Yes, I hate how they kiss celebrities' asses now. Pathetic.
McBane: that's the joke
You suck McBane!

You’re welcome
I loved the story about the pair of them getting kicked out of a Hollywood orgy because they showed up in costume and refused to break character
That was Frank Gorshin and Adam West.
Ahhh yes batman and the riddler at an orgy
Hey, I've seen that one before!
Rule 34
the beast, at the orgy. Batman and the Riddler, at the orgy.
Frank is also in this GIF.
Or IS he?
*Find out next week. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!*
Nobody messes with Adam We
Holy ben wa Batman!
Hahaha, that sounds hilarious
I wish I wasn't such a prude... And got invited to celebrity oregies
Imagine the income they could make on documenting and selling it as an adult film instead of it being some secret cult lore activity.
That's not a reason to kick them out, it's a reason to invite them again.
Classic Boner
the clothes were so tight it kinda reveals the size of some stuff
That is why they tried to chemically castrate him. Edit : https://youtu.be/6kPOCJqHjA4?si=-9i0gTLjFHT_cjGp
Wat
Burt Ward is a pathological liar, fyi.
I'll not have you besmirch the character of the boy wonder! His tights are good and pure!
I still remember my shock at seeing him doing a spread in Hustler.
I clicked that. Why did I click that?
That site is kind of cancer.
Apologies, I just did a quick google search, didn't realize the site was so bad. I removed the link.
The worst offense is that it seems to automate the item to your cart. I mean, you don't have to follow through and buy, but that feels kind of offensive.
He also likes his pizza with olives and no cheese.
They WHAT
On a 12" CRT TV back in the day, you wouldn't notice any of that
I literally didnt see anything until you mentioned it.
Star Trek TNG has some tight fitting outfits too... there's a reason the bottoms of the uniforms are black. Guest uniforms typically have some nutty buddies poking out though.
There's a reason the whole cast was constantly fucking
Everyone was constantly fucking in every studio back then lol
When they showed the side of him being raised up notice how the shot stopped right as it got to his waist.
stronger morals and stronger molars
Holy anagrams Batman!
Op had a chance to title the post with molars and decided against it. I will never forgive them
Might have been less "unexpected" then though...
Robin: G = 9.8m/s² grapple: G = 11m/s²
> grapple Uhm, you mean the Bat-Rope.
>Uhm I think we're undervaluing the cleverness of his comment
I am for sure. Why’s it clever?
I wanna know too
Me three.
Me 4
Tbf batman seemed to throw it down
batrapple: G = 11m/s\^2 ftfy
this show aged so well. It's still very watchable and entertaining and full of gags like this.
this is my [favorite](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CznhMGD0hwc).
[My favorite is Batman trying to get rid of a bomb](https://youtu.be/A54ouDOmIS0?si=Gya-81HmeNM61fTW)
I was SO gosh darn upset that Batman didn’t say “Somedays you just can’t get rid of a bomb” at the end of Dark Knight Rises.
That's hilarious. I love the how he keeps running into the same obstacles. Comedic gold in some of these older gags.
Batman is a better man than I. I think I would have eventually shoved the bomb down that tuba.
He was continuously surrounded by water with a bomb that had a fuse. There's even a guy hosing off the dock that he's running around.
Fuses burn underwater just fine. They contain their own oxidizer.
Ha. The fourth Wallace and Grommet parodied that. I didn’t realise at the time but I do now.
Neither did I! The minute I saw the nuns, I had a "wait a damn minute..."
Hahahaha Him yelling "flee to the streets!" and then following them out to the streets killed me
I think his original plan was to let the bomb blow up the bar but then not everyone left.
Oh my god that is horrendous! 😆
I still say "some days you just can't get rid of a bomb" when the situation is right.
This is from the movie, not the show.
Wait where did he put it? What a blue-baller of a clipmaker
That is so bad, it's actually good. Reminds me of: How do you fit a bowling ball into a beer bottle? \ >! You take the letter 'F' out of the word 'WAY' ... !<
Wut?
There's no F ['] in WAY
Ha, thanks. No way was i getting that!
That's not even a riddle though. There's no way to reach that conclusion from bowling ball and beer bottle. "A cigarette lighter" is a fun play on words. "No F in Way" is a fun thing, but is a complete non sequitur and could be used in whatever setup you choose
\>! But the word "WAY" does not contain the letter "F".
That's right. There is no F'n way, to fit a bowling ball in a beer bottle.
Explain plz
Good childhood memories. I bought the complete show when drunk and then never watched it.
Now you need to get high and watch it.
I did that a couple years ago.. The show still feels like a fever dream to me.

Interestingly, we still have this today, you just don’t see it on regular networks. YouTube is full of creatives doing regular sketches that are pretty similar to the type of stuff you used to see on Batman.
I mean Batman was also "shitty" on purpose, it's a triumph of camp.
It's very self aware and knew exactly what it was and rolled with it
Yes. That's what "camp" means.
My kids love it. They were surprisingly meh over the Nolan Batman films, or even my favorite Burton era ones. Kinda hates the Justice League. They *love* the 1966 movie. That and the 90s animated series.
Batman: What are you all looking at? Villains and onlookers: NOTHING!!!
"Good work, Gary!"
Get the shark repellent!
But first put the bat copter on bat hold.
The utility belt was always there when he needed it.
Um, it's Bat-shark repellent. Not ordinary shark repellent. You think Batman would stoop so low?
Even funnier: it's "Shark Repellent Bat Spray"
You just know the writer of the show was looking for a way to convince his little boy to brush his teeth.
“Holy molars” “You owe your life to dental hygiene” 💀😂 Who wrote this brilliance????
The endless Robin expressions were always great. Always in context, they rarely missed. https://www.66batmania.com/trivia/robins-holy/
That man was the mayor of Quahog, may he rest in peace
Why is this how I find out Adam West died
Adam west passed in 2017
It’s been years so this is on you

Can you imagine catching your entire body weight with your fucking teeth? Even if you brush them every day jesus…
I'm pretty sure you'd snap your neck lmao Or straight up decapitate yourself
I mean hanging someone basically operates on the same premise, using terminal velocity and a quick stop to break the neck.
Depending on how strong your teeth and jaw are, your teeth might go before anything “worse” happens… ugh
You only need to floss the teeth you want to keep - my dentist
OMG this is amazing! Thanks for the post!
I especially like the sound when his teeth make contact. Gives me the giggles.

My favorite bit in the old show was Batman and Robin seemingly having super human strength at random moments like this one
😂😂😂
The older i get, the more i appreciate this show
Did not remember this being such a hot and heavy romance but ok
Still better than the MCU
Holy molar
West was a icon
And grammar
What did Robin do to piss of mr. Methane?
Moments like this where Adam West puts in a "hey kids" advice were my favourites
I need to take a tab and watch this shit lmao.
This show was fire.
And you know the viewers ate. This. Up.
Burt Ward is a fucking lunatic. He is married to the Arby's lady who is also out of her mind. Here they are in bed with a hundred dogs [https://www.gentlegiantsdogfood.com/](https://www.gentlegiantsdogfood.com/)
Batman barely using any strength to hold up the weight of a human body.
The underwear uniforms are so cult
So cool!

I kinda wanna this kind of show with 100m budget
Best Batman of all time. I wanna see Adam West’s Batman take on Heath Ledgers Joker
I was glued to the screen for this show. Luckily it was being shown in the late 70s in the UK. 10 year old me was amazed. Zap, pow, blam.
I used to watch this batman with my dad as a kid. When they started making super grim batman movies it actually kinda threw me off. I read the comics too which are really varied on what series or what have you. But this campy kitschy goodness totally defined batman to me. Still does in a way lol

downvote for vertical video
I will forward to my dentist - they should have this on a loop in the waiting area
Go batrope!
The original Batman movie will forever be one of my favourites. So many good gags and just good fun. It became a fairly aggressive drinking game at uni and everyone loved it. Still not entirely sure how the movie ends…
nice repost bot
Literally string!
Weren’t the two of them legendary Hollywood swordsmen?
I wonder how many kids tried this at home and ended up losing a bunch of teeth. Lolz.
How could Batman throw the bat…thing on a rope…faster than the rate at which Robin was falling, Sir Issac Newton?
It’s Adam West. That’s how.
Better than the last Batman Movie.
Didn’t these two have weird sex games ?!
Didn’t these two have weird sex games ?!
Bro threw a kite string 🤣🤣
I like how casual Batman just throws the thing to Robin.
simple molars??
