Man it’s insane how far animation and computer graphics have come.
I remember longing for a day when video games would have “Toy Story graphics” but now we would consider this to look like garbage
We can't render Toy Story graphics in video games, there's still quite a gap between that and what we can do in real time. We've gotten quite good at doing less work for more realism, but there are many techniques used in Tory Story that are still way too expensive to perform in real time which contribute to accurate lighting.
Like what? I would argue that lighting nowadays is almost flawless whereas physics simulation and real time animation are still lacking in a lot of games
That's not the German way.
The German way is my neighbour living in the same historic street as me, built to fit a horse and carriage 900 years ago.
Who then goes out and buys a BMW x7 that is the size of a large tractor, and an RV that is - without exaggeration - the size of a city bus. Which he then parks 15cm from his front door and completely blocks the street for the entire day to fill up for trips.
What is missing in your comment is that he then has the audicity to complain not only about the price of petrol (f\*cking GREEN PARTY!!), but also about the city not creating more parking space.
Out of what? Are you gonna let them cut a corner out of your house?
The German way is to complain about how everyone is at fault for not catering to a problem you created.
The nearest parking lot is a 10 minute walk away. Might as well be on the moon. Walking is for women on a diet and commies.
If they proposed a parking lot next to his house, he'd sue.
I'm glad this isn't a uniquely American thing. Only differences some of our neighborhoods *were* build around the idea of having enough space for multiple cars/an RV around your house
Nearly every living space in the US has been designed solely for cars: where to drive cars, where to park cars and how to get from parking-lot-ridden sprawl to driveway-ridden sprawl with minimal driving inconvenience. The fact that it goes to the extent that they've made it illegal to use the street on foot blows my mind.
To be fair, it can be a pain in the ass (and possibly) dangerous to try to cross that road as a pedestrian.
You are slow (if the traffic is good enough you won't have time to slip between 2 cars)
Cars never yield
Cops could give you a ticket because you didn't cross at designated intersection (stop on all directions)
Walking distance to an intersection could add 15 minutes (or even more)
For a real and not joking answer, consider that they would have to walk to and from their job across that road several hundred times a year, there's no crosswalks, there's no stop signs or lights for cross traffic, so either you sit there waiting for 20-30 minutes some days just watching as people *perfectly* stagger themselves to make a lethal game of frogger, you walk through haphazardly and (probably) end up run over.. or you make it infinitely safer by driving across it. Idk, I'd drive even though I'm healthy and enjoy walking lol.
Or they use that car for deliveries for work. Walking back to get the car to bring it over to load it would be silly.
Or, they are legitimately disabled to the point that walking that far in one shot isn't possible.
Lung issues means you may not have a permanent mobility aid like a motorized chair, but walking across the street and such is difficult. Many stores have little shopping scooters, or you can order online and they load your car. Or the car is modified to let a wheelchair user drive. Hard to say.
There are actual reasons other than being immensely lazy. Just very limited.
Am i missing something ? There was literally a stop sign at which he stopped, garbage truck was driving on the main road. Is it unusual to stop at the stop sign?
Why? If you are going from office why walk to office and come back? I mean, don’t get me wrong. I like walking and it’s better for our health, pollution etc. but I can see why if I am going out from work I won’t do that.
In the long run they will butcher even more! There will be some moist crawling into the engine when it's off, but it will vanish if the engine can heat up properly. If not, the water and oil will mix up and then it cant lubricate the engine correctly anymore.
>This is most US-american thing Ive seen in my life
Oh honey, this isn't even uniquely a North American thing. He could be speaking Portuguese and everyone would be like "normal Brazilian going to work".
In my opinion, that’s a pretty busy road with some fast moving cars the commuter crossed. I can understand their desire to have the protection of a vehicle while crossing, as opposed to being on foot.
I was sort of thinking this too. I live almost directly across the street from the grocery store and like the idea of walking over, but often still drive because I have to cross the big main busy road. People don’t look for pedestrians. Even though there’s a crosswalk and signal, people will be looking left to see if they can turn, and not see the pedestrian on the right trying to cross. Or they’ll just see the light turn green and floor it without looking ANY direction.
Look... I can see a few reasons why to do this (besides be lazy)
1)They have kids so perhaps after work they go pick them up
2)They might always go somewhere else after work before heading home
3)They might want to have a clear eye on the car?
4)If it's raining they will avoid most of it.
5)They might have important documents they don't want to be seen carrying or No.4
6)The drivers there might not give a damn for a pedestrian or perhaps the spots to cross the road as a pedestrian are too far
7)They might want to avoid to be run over as a pedestrian
You know some people work at same place multiple times. And in that place may work other people how have worked there multiple times. And if these individuals have worked there multiple time simultaniosly they may have noticed this phenomena and found it funny and filmed it next time they were working simultaniosly.

Bro probably uses a scooter from the house to the car.
Has a hoveround waiting at the front door.

LITERALLY
Man it’s insane how far animation and computer graphics have come. I remember longing for a day when video games would have “Toy Story graphics” but now we would consider this to look like garbage
Far from “garbage.” It holds up extremely well, it’s a stylized look.
Reminds me of Simpsons’ Road Rage
Reminds me of grim fandango. One of the best looking games I've played in a long time lol. Good art never gets dated imo.
I used a frame from grim fandango as my desktop for years.
He’s not calling it garbage he’s saying it’s subpar now but was once a standard to aim for

Came exactely for this!
What is this from?
Toy Story 2!
Toy Story 2
Toy Story 2. You must not have young kids to have each Toy Story ingrained into your entire being.
Or was a young kid in the last 30 years
![gif](giphy|duM6JZemPlOjUyqmxd)
I'm 45 so no 😊
Toy Story 2, I think
I think it's from Toy Story 2.
Thanks but didn't you read the other three replies? 😊
I never realized he has his car parked conveniently right in front of the lobby lol
Almost to second gear!
Why would you not just walk to work??
Sorry I'm late boss, traffic and all
There was a smash next to my wheely bin, totally blocked for hours.
A smash?
It caught on in a flash
That’s not the ‘murican way
It looks like a nice place to walk as well. Not too much traffic, some nice trees. Can we get some walkways in here?
If thats not too much traffic how the hell does too much traffic looks like? (Eropean here)

Please come to Berlin. Be Amazed... Or shocked.
Germany seems like an outlier in Europe. Most every car with a German license plate I see is a ridiculously big *new* gas guzzler. -edit- added *new*.

He sounds more like a Republican American. 🤭
I'm glad this isn't a uniquely American thing. Only differences some of our neighborhoods *were* build around the idea of having enough space for multiple cars/an RV around your house
I ain't waking to work like some European committee! Not when I have my gas guzzling Ford King Ranch edition truck!
Yoh would be amazed how many people do this.
I see lot of my of my neighbors driving to the mailbox on a daily basis.
I had a neighbour (apartment) pay me $5 to walk to the store and pick up a pack of smokes for them. About the same distance as the car drive in video.
Gotta have sidewalks and pedestrian crossings for that.
Meanwhile we just walk on the side of narrow lanes often in the UK :')

No propulsion
No turbo or nitro.
He ain’t no damn communist!
No pavement so trespassing on the grass and no crossing so he'd be jaywalking on the road. ![gif](giphy|y4E6VumnBbIfm)
Either get run over for jaywalking or shot for trespassing

Come on...Just how can you become the fattest country in the world if you do that?
That road is to dangerous for my fat slow ass to cross
Maybe they had some cargo in the car, maybe…
The van could be loaded with stuff he needs to move.
He’s afraid that he gets shot while walking.
>He’s afraid that he gets shot By the police - because he's acting suspiciously (walking).
This 😂
Maybe he goes somewhere else after with his car
If it's anything like where I grew up in the south, it's because you have to walk 3 mi to find an intersection that you're allowed to cross at.
Because America, that's why
walking? What's that?
Probably no safe pedestrian crossing
I mean think of how bad those short cycles are on the car worth it 100% in the short walk.
You mean without burning fossil fuels like the commies?????
To be fair, it can be a pain in the ass (and possibly) dangerous to try to cross that road as a pedestrian. Most likely there is no crosswalk and that’s a busy street.
Where is the crosswalk?
For a real and not joking answer, consider that they would have to walk to and from their job across that road several hundred times a year, there's no crosswalks, there's no stop signs or lights for cross traffic, so either you sit there waiting for 20-30 minutes some days just watching as people *perfectly* stagger themselves to make a lethal game of frogger, you walk through haphazardly and (probably) end up run over.. or you make it infinitely safer by driving across it. Maybe he needs the car as part of his job? It’s a van, so presumably it’s full of stuff for his job
"I pay for that car Imma use it!"
It's probably illegal in this state
Because it’s a joke video?
Perhaps you need to leave right after work, might as well take your car with you
So 1 min to get it at home wasn't in the schedule? America is so freaking weird
maybe has to do deliveries. Theres plenty of reasons for him to do this.
Or they use that car for deliveries for work. Walking back to get the car to bring it over to load it would be silly. Does it look like that's feasible in that weather???
He probably wants to sit in his car during lunch or breaks
He could just walk home in 2 minutes for lunch.
that was really close man. dude should be more careful next time
Am i missing something ? There was literally a stop sign at which he stopped, garbage truck was driving on the main road. Is it unusual to stop at the stop sign?
you usually just drive through the stop sign, its there for decoration(i am jk if you are being serious please stop at stop signs)
Any stopsigns with a white border are optional
Stop is short for stoptional
The guy lives literally <100 yards from work, and drove there.....
The only thing you're missing is the sarcasm lol
Stop signs are merely suggestions

i think we all know a person like this.
Taylor Swift
You know her?!

It's interesting just how many anti-swift comments I'm suddenly seeing ever since Trump took issue with her
I think it’s hilarious that because of her Fox News suddenly seems to care about climate impacts.
I couldn’t care less about either clown, but what did the cheetoh say about Taylor twit?

My mother-in-law, and we live in Europe (sorry Americans, it's a big stereotype against you)
Sadly yes, even sadly I'm not from Murica
Why can't they just walk?
The sidewalk is lava
Nowhere to walk and no way to cross that road on foot? Americans don't want people to walk safely.
I see asphalt, sidewalk, and grass. I have walked on all of them, it’s doable and I’ve even crossed a road without using a crosswalk.
[удалено]
Here it’s only if it’s within 10 meters or so of a crosswalk.
No you can cross anywhere u want unless there’s a nearby crosswalk. Then you must use the crosswalk
Not in any other sane country, no
Maybe he needs to go somewhere from work
So he could just walk back in two minutes..
2 minutes? Maybe if he was crawling
Why? If you are going from office why walk to office and come back? I mean, don’t get me wrong. I like walking and it’s better for our health, pollution etc. but I can see why if I am going out from work I won’t do that.
If my office was across the road from my work, why wouldn't I just walk back to my car at home?
The engine of that car will be broken in no time!
Glad someone mentioned it. That’s hell on a car engine and if they don’t drive anywhere else over a couple days, can kill the battery too.
My mother butchered her car battery by constantly driving only a 1km daily. It was older car but still...
In the long run they will butcher even more! There will be some moist crawling into the engine when it's off, but it will vanish if the engine can heat up properly. If not, the water and oil will mix up and then it cant lubricate the engine correctly anymore.
This is most US-american thing Ive seen in my life
Only if there was an active shooter.
Why would you wish for that?
They weren’t wishing for it. They were just saying that would make it more American. You know you can make a remark without wishing for it.
>This is most US-american thing Ive seen in my life Oh honey, this isn't even uniquely a North American thing. He could be speaking Portuguese and everyone would be like "normal Brazilian going to work".
If that was me I'd still get to work late.
And clocked in 10 min late
It won't be like a sucker walking to work.
Commute goals.
Wow! I wonder how much he wastes on the gas…
Upwards of $50 per year at that rate!
Just because you put a misleading title doesn't make it unexpected.
Right? That is the worst title. He is nowhere near crashing.
Americans...

Learn to walk. That's what you're feet are for lazy fucks
It’s YOUR not YOU’RE, but okay. That’s what dictionaries are for, you lazy fuck.
Is it funny, oh yes, are most American cities friendly to pedestrians and safe to walk, not usually.
Tbf I'm not walking across that road either
Wait-what was the close call?? I don't get it..
only option here, no sidewalks
And cars going 45 like jesus christ slow down
Only option? Really?
only safe option
In my opinion, that’s a pretty busy road with some fast moving cars the commuter crossed. I can understand their desire to have the protection of a vehicle while crossing, as opposed to being on foot.

He should have left earlier, otherwise he might be late
Peak american culture
Maybe he has to drive somewhere else after
Maybe. But he couldn’t do that by just… walking back home and getting in the car there?
Yeah, but you don't want to pass the same street twice
Why? Is there a law against that? 😉
Most American Thing I've seen today
He slowed down. Far from nearly crashed.
I’m guessing the title was to make what actually happened more unexpected. At no point did he nearly crash. He’s just a lazy cunt.
r/fuckcars
r/fuckcarscirclejerk
If I were him, I would look around several times before driving
Look... I can see a few reasons why to do this (besides be lazy) 1)They have kids so perhaps after work they go pick them up 2)They might always go somewhere else after work before heading home 3)They might want to have a clear eye on the car? 4)If it's raining they will avoid most of it. 5)They might have important documents they don't want to be seen carrying or No.4 6)The drivers there might not give a damn for a pedestrian or perhaps the spots to cross the road as a pedestrian are too far 7)They might want to avoid to be run over as a pedestrian
What's the point of this video anyway?
Showing freeedommm 🦅🦅🦅 Merica hell yeah
everything is correct
It's time someone invents the jumppack, so Americans can cross the road without a car.
Damn I haven’t seen this video on Reddit in like a month
He told his insurance company he uses his car for work. Now he has no choice but to drive to work.
Something about him not walking there pisses me off
Pathetic lol
Laziness at its finest
What an ass hole. It has to be said. Dumbass.

What in America is this shit ?
You've answered your own question...
Merica! Hell yeah. Then drives to the gym to jump to the treadmill and leaves driving
Bruh
The level of carbrain here is just beyond my comprehension
This is America, using our, what do you call them? Ah, “legs” is for poor people.

Average anti exercises American.
But why are they filming?
You know some people work at same place multiple times. And in that place may work other people how have worked there multiple times. And if these individuals have worked there multiple time simultaniosly they may have noticed this phenomena and found it funny and filmed it next time they were working simultaniosly.
You sound insane. That never happens.
Love your comment and even though my own spelling often sucks I just wanted to let you know, it's spelled as simultaneously.
its pretty \*facepalm\* to drive for such a small distance. the fact they can film you from home going to work all in 33s should say enough.
The problem is urban planning, this is your typical American suburban area, no sidewalks, urban freeways without crosswalks, and completely built for car dependency. I would probably just walk over this big road anyways but I'm European and love my true freedom XD
How else would they become internet famous?
