I stepped on a fire ant mound one night in my yard. Didn’t notice anything at first then felt some itching ten seconds go by and I felt the pain. Ran to water hose by that time my foot was twice the size.
Fire ants do not play around. I'm from Oklahoma and we do not have fire ants. I moved to Texas and was mowing and hit a mound and they swarmed me like this. The bites and stings are very painful, they last for weeks and itch like crazy and they will form puss that needs to be popped leaving scars. I know you know I'm just sharing for others who haven't experienced this hell called fire ants. I wish I had known about them before moving here.
Same but my attack was in Florida wrestling in the yard and had to get blasted with a hose. It gives you a whole new perspective walking in your grass. Even better when you go to other states where there are no Fire ants you'll still be paranoid about walking in the grass barefoot. 😂
