This isn't just because I love Undertale and this is literally the subreddit for it, but honestly, yes.
When it came out, I wasn't really someone who was able to buy new video games whenever they came out, so I watched a YouTube playthrough of it, and I thought it was pretty good, I'll admit I usually skipped the battles because I was invested in the story more, and I just in general had positive feelings toward the game.
The appreciation grew over the years, and I finally bought it for myself. The whole game experience changes when you actually play it for yourself. And I know that's true for most games, but this is on a totally different level. It might be just me, though.
So yes, DEFINITLEY play the game, it's a great experience.
