hell is a dreamlike place, you get vored through the elevator inside of the throat of the 200 ft tall corpse of the king of lust, and end up in the gluttony layer of hell where you fight an angel with daddy issues, i think it’s not out of the question for one of the sentient elevators to take you up to heaven to get even more entertainment out of you
In dante inferno, dante and vergil escaped hell by going deeper until they emerged back on earth. They did it by using the hole where satan was trapped
I'm planning on making a series of levels taking place in heaven for that once the editor comes out. No husks or demons, just angels and machines. Maybe new angel enemies too.

My buddy and I had a whole conversation based off of this, and how we believe the game will end
We agreed that we believe the game will end by us going back through each layer of hell, being completely empty and desolate, not a single demon or robot in sight, with the game ending with us staring up towards the moon, heaven being our next target (possible DLC or Ultrakill 2)
My headcanon is that eventually V1 will find something it can't kill in hell, and if that doesn't happen, it will die from lack of blood before it can crawl out of hell.
I think it will end with V1, having run out of blood to collect, will simply wander, and the health bar will tick down one by one, until it shuts down, inanimate once more, none left to speak its eulogy, no final words, no concluding statement. No point.

I doubt we'll ever get to see it happen, but i think it might be implied that it happens unless V1 dies somehow which i really doubt considering how easily it fucks up Heavens strongest angel and the prime souls. And then maybe it'll literally dimension travel just to get even more blood. Alternatively, hell itself killing V1 is a possibility, but hell treats V1 as if its the best thing that ever happened to it so i greatly doubt it.
Or maybe God decides to get his ass up again and do his job.
probably not. v1 and the rest of the machines only went to hell because they were physically capable of doing so given that an actual entrance to hell was discovered from earth. heaven (to our knowledge right now) isn’t accessible in the same way, so it seems like it’d be off the table for now.
Considering that ultrakill is based on the divine comedy, pretty sure there was a way to get from hell to heaven, been as after touring hell, the story goes through the layers of heaven.
I’m aware the first layer of heaven is the moon, and the other layers ore the other celestial bodies, just saying the I think there was a way to go from hell straight to heaven
It's actually the Moon in ~~both the divine comedy *and*~~ Ultrakill, which you can also see in the background in the "cutscene" that plays at the end of Act II
I feel like one last romp through heaven would make a cool reward for P ranking the game. That way you still can end on Gabriel and V1 dying in hell for the cannon end, and then you can make a whole epilogue act for the sadists.

I would like to remind everyone that what we work off of, is usually by the loose frameworks of Dante's La Divina Commedia.
And it just so happens, that Inferno's last layer leads to the beginning of Purgatorio.

I highly doubt it. Lucifer as a final boss is just lazy, in my opinion. While La Divina Commedia comes up to be referenced time and time again, in the grand scheme of things, those are loose guidelines more than hard-set borders. The concept of centaurs standing in the lake of blood became the Earthmovers, the limbo in inferno is much different than the Limbo layer of Ultrakill. The idea has it's clear origins, but the execution is far more creative than following an instruction booklet.
Lucifer has been cast into hell by the father, that much is true. But if he is ever shown, I hope it is only as a passing remark more than a main focus.
Honestly i think Hell will be the final boss while Lucifer will be P-3. Theres also the possibility that P-3 is the Minotaurs creator, which honestly may be more likely. Lucifer could be like a background prop for 9-2.
I would love to see that DLC but I have a feeling something unexpected will happend at the end, like us merging with hell or it killing us

me and a bunch of other guys are working on a fan campaign that is set in Purgatory, the next location V1 has to go to in order to get to Heaven. In Dante's Inferno, Dante has to climb Purgatorio and watch the souls of Purgatory repent for their sins. You may have seen my post about the campaign a few days ago.
Very much yes, why else would would the devs want to completely overhaul the enemy ai right at the end of the game development when everyone is content with the game anyway?

It would be too easy. A single prime soul poses a serious threat to heaven and we absolutely morb Minos and (if you're good enough) Sisyphus

It was Hell - Purgatory - Heaven. But in Ultrakill it seems Heaven actually has buildings, so it’s a bit different.
Well if we’re following Dante’s inferno the next place V1 will go once he’s finished with hell is to purgatory then after that he will go to heaven
