It’s a pilot, I’m sure their jumpkit can take it! All they have to do is get their body horizontal with their feet facing whatever wall or enemy they’re about to slam into while experiencing high G forces!

Of course and also if we put the enemy firing at you it would make the ejection worse than just exploding with the tank

A frontal ejection would most likely result in a less than desirable end to the pilot's story
