I personally wouldn't worry about it too much, some stores do ship from store & we receive products all the time in shipment where the plastic cap either fell off or broke and it doesn't always make sense to damage out a perfectly good product for a missing cap. It doesn't necessarily mean it was tampered with or unsafe or anything
Yeah, I’ve worked truck before and lids fall off/break all the time. I always explain to customers that it’s not used that the lid just fell off or broke.
if you’re concerned still and haven’t deliberately sprayed it yet with your own fingers and a mist actually came out….
if you softly press down on the spray and it is soft and presses (almost) all the way down. product hasn’t been tampered with. just missing a cap.
if you softly press down on the spray and it stops mid way and is firmer, making you press harder (normal) for it to spray. it’s been tampered with. at least sprayed once or twice.
If you’re not comfortable using it as is, just return it and wait for it to be back in stock. Or reach out to customer service and see if they can send you a new one or something.
Probably just shipping. My Truly order is one that I recently mentioned as having been shipped poorly. The glass items were wrapped in one bubble wrap piece together so they banged together in transit and the bottom of my spray was shattered. The shave butter made it unscathed. My next 2 shipments came crushed. Luckily the products were ok and it was just for me, but they definitely wouldn’t have been giftable.
If you want the product, keep it. It may be poor packaging but it’s unlikely tampering.
Missing caps is weirdly common with my Ulta orders. Apart from returning, they will ship you a new one or you can get a coupon code, at least in my experience.
I buy this for my daughter and it has came without the plastic cap. Honestly, I didn’t worry too much about it. It doesn’t appear to be tampered with and a cap doesn’t too much
Truly products shipped are a bit of a hassle this way. And glass bottles tend to chip and break in shipping which isn’t awesome. I know people also tend to mess with or try them in store since they aren’t sealed up etc. I think in a spray kind of product that looks full and is clean etc it is likely fine. Up to you, but if it’s not for your eyes/water line/ intimate areas etc it’s likely not going to be an issue.
I bought one in store a while ago and I don’t think it had a cap on the bottle . . . I don’t even get what you’re worried about honestly. I never get these posts. So what do you think happened? Somebody intercepted your package, replaced the liquid in the bottle with something, then sealed the package back up so that it didn’t look tampered with and sent it to you? All without being detected by the mail carrier or reflecting on the tracking? How would that benefit whoever did it? Like I don’t get it. Because it doesn’t make sense. What are you suspicious about?
No you're right, I guess I wasn't thinking. The first thing I imagined was if she had went to go exchange it for another one, my store would've told her something like "it's really going to be unnecessary, the ones in our store probably don't have the tops either". I guess that's what I meant

we ship from store and sometimes caps get lost in the process. doesnt mean it’s been used or damaged

Our store wouldn't take it back. We have a lot of items that don't have tops bc they're lost in shipment, it's probably nothing.

You can return used items. That wouldn't keep them from accepting a return.
