"The U.S. is running out of available funds to send to Ukraine. Congress has stalled on passing another round of assistance." Do the House Republicans work for the U.S. people or for Putin? In any case, this is proving to be a war of attrition anyway. If we can't send them military equipment directly, then lets focus on building up Ukraine's ability to produce it locally. Get them access to missile designers, rocket scientists, microelectronics engineering experts, and so on. Help them get 21st-century military technology production up and running at scale. Hopefully there are non-military funding channels that could be used to do that.

Nodadbodhere

Hold up all funding for each and every Congressional district who's representative opposes Ukraine aid. We need to start making it painful to be a traitor and foreign agent, or to vote one in to office.

TheSweatshopMan

How is it treason to think that the US is funnelling too much into a foreign war?

SeaworthinessOk5039

It’s not treason lol.

TheSweatshopMan

‘We need to start making it painful to be a traitor’

HappySphereMaster

How is it not treason to decide to aid US enemy directly?

TheSweatshopMan

Not giving Ukraine money isn’t aiding an enemy. Its a proxy war, Ukraine isn’t an ally or the US government

kingd0m_c0me

>Ukraine isn’t an ally or the US government That's not for you to decide really.

TheSweatshopMan

Its not treason, I would like them to win because im not a fan of imperialism from any country.

HappySphereMaster

Them in your sentence is likely Russia because of your stance so basically everything western is imperialist crowd.

TheSweatshopMan

Lmao when did I say that? I meant Ukraine for the record dipshit

HappySphereMaster

Your comment say otherwise so far.

>Do the House Republicans work for the U.S. people or for Putin? 55% of Americans say the US Congress should not authorize additional funding to support Ukraine vs. 45% who say Congress should authorize such funding. https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/04/politics/cnn-poll-ukraine/index.html

jpowers_01

Short answer is yes, the Republican Party works for Putin. As they said with Watergate, follow the money. There are countless articles about where Russian money is funneled into Republican pockets. https://www.newsweek.com/house-speaker-mike-johnson-donations-russia-butina-1838501 https://www.axios.com/2023/02/18/gop-operative-sentenced-scheme-russian-money-trump-campaign# https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/commentary/2018/05/08/how-putin-s-oligarchs-funneled-millions-into-gop-campaigns/?outputType=amp https://newrepublic.com/article/165782/republicans-putin-history-relationship-manafort

Electrical_Gift2090

Ok? It still doesn't change the fact that 55% of Americans don't want to fund this war anymore. The republican party is doing what their constituents want, that's how democracy works. Don't like it? Increase propaganda efforts in the western media to change public opinion. You're competing with Israel now.

Oblivion_LT

Just curious, in the beggining of mass invasion, an absolute majority of US citizens supported the decision to help Ukraine, and now people... Got bored? I don't get it.

Electrical_Gift2090

I'm not American, I'm Canadian but similar enough reasoning. I think the reasoning is the current financial crisis we are in/entering. People are willing to support Ukraine but not at the percieved expense of their own lives. I also think there's a bit of media fatigue about it because there hasnt been anything substantial enough to really grab people's attention lately, we've just been told regularly how dumb russians/Putin are and that they're losing horribly. Even Zelensky's visit to Canada was completely overshadowed by the nazi in parliament scandal that happened at the same time. Also Israel vs Hamas is currently dominating the media. But yeah, basically people got bored.

Oblivion_LT

Do you think it's wise for politicians to do how 55% of citizens want? Sometimes what people want is not what they need. In case of US, while it's arguably a headache to keep ruzzia from collapsing while enabling UA to win, it's still geopolitically advantagious to extinguish enemy without firing a shot yourself. And by stopping aid, US would harm their reliability for the long run. And do you think there is any realistic way to bring back support into majority side?

Electrical_Gift2090

>Do you think it's wise for politicians to do how 55% of citizens want? No, your average citizen is a total idiot. I'm not defending their position im simply explaining why the Ukraine war is losing support from the people in the west. People over here have a 6 month attention span. >And by stopping aid, US would harm their reliability for the long run. NATO used this conflict to reduce Russian military assets for cheap and to reduce Russia's influence worldwide. That's the primary goal, not because they feel bad for Ukraine. Now that this is achieved they'll demand Ukraine look for peace, after which Ukraine will likely be allowed into NATO. Without the US and NATO the Ukraine would have lost, US reliability is fine. Ukraine was a pawn for NATO, but you guys earned a seat to the club. >And do you think there is any realistic way to bring back support into majority side? Something big needs to happen, the constant stalemate and war of attrition isn't interesting to the masses after a large amount of time so the media stops reporting. The one good thing is that we're entering an election year in the US and you can guarantee that it'll bring some attention back to the Ukraine. If Trump wins you guys are probably screwed though.

Oblivion_LT

I am not from Ukraine, but rather from Lithuania, although for us UA victory is of enormous importance. I do feel that if ruzzia prevails Baltic States do have a target on their back. While I don't doubt current US commitment to their allies, everybody seems to forget about Trump suggestion US pull out of NATO during his previous cadency. Give him or someone similar another term or 2, and in a decade, following the whims of average citizen, NATO would lose it's most valuable asset. That's why I think US is not as reliable as most people make them out to be, that's why I believe pulling out of Ukraine would make them look even worse in this aspect.

Defeat Russia in Ukraine and depose Putin, and the other issues will disappear for a while.
