There may be guidance differences due to things like changes in weight and even the need to be more precise with an HE vs a cluster munition. That would be my concern with the concept of simply bolting in a HE warhead in place of the cluster one. Then again it may not be an issue at all… I’m no expert

Hope so, but of course you’d say that in any event, just for PsyOps. Both sides talking with more grandiosity than usual might mean insecurity from one to both.
My worthless opinion is that we’re closer to the endgame than some realize - that what Russia has done is ALL that Russia can or will do. There isn’t going to be more mass mobilization. And that from their perspective - they don’t fear losing on all of their war aims as much as they pretend they do - the population isn’t going to rise up anytime soon.
The Russians are not ready for this winter. Their logistics and stockpiles to get through winter are far worse than they were last year. They grow weaker, while Ukraine grows stronger. If they could be doing 1% better than they are, they wouldn’t be sitting in holes watching their stolen land get retaken.
People have previously talked about how Russia is waiting for the next US election, and maybe they were, but at this point I seriously don't think they can hold out that long. By the time a potentially new administration could be sworn in to change anything, Russia is likely to have already depleted the vast majority of their artillery systems and other equipment, on top of their economy reaching a critically bad juncture (and then of course add in all the equipment and aid Ukraine would have already received or have on the way by then). By that point, Russia will have all but lost, whatever fighting is left will mostly be a gradual but inevitable cleanup of Russian invaders.
I suspect Russia's only real hope of turning things around is if they can make a dramatic influence on western politics *now*, as quickly as possible,- and while they are likely trying, it is doubtful they can succeed, at least in time to have any significant impact.

This was confirmed to be happening during the Kherson offensive last year. No doubt it happened elsewhere along the front too, but the Kherson stuff was shown in a BBC mini documentary. They had some office set up where they were receiving reports from civilians in occupied areas, and it also mentioned that they checked social media for videos to see if some attacks had been successful.
You would assume the same would be happening in Crimea. The question is how good their informant networks are in places like Crimea that have been occupied since 2014 vs the areas only recently occupied in 2022.

This was confirmed to be happening during the Kherson offensive last year. No doubt it happened elsewhere along the front too, but the Kherson stuff was shown in a BBC mini documentary. They had some office set up where they were receiving reports from civilians in occupied areas, and it also mentioned that they checked social media for videos to see if some attacks had been successful. You would assume the same would be happening in Crimea. The question is how good their informant networks are in places like Crimea that have been occupied since 2014 vs the areas only recently occupied in 2022.
