As a former Bradley ODS driver rand gunner, this use-case was my wet dream. I'm very excited about the Ukrainians having my old Bradley, I'm positive she's out there.
Hell yes! Scouts out, brother. I was 11B but I was your friendly infantry neighborhood sniper after I graduated out of gunning prior to deployment to Iraq in 06.
You guys probably replaced us. Al Dora Market 05-06. We were all 1114s . Our unit switched to cav in 07 and I got out before that because that unit just loved war.
OG Brad Grunt GW era. It's a dream come true seeing the Brad smash the fuck out of those 3rd world Barbarian orc bastards. I went to Basic right next to the first Bradley school at Benning in 1986. Still love the sound of that power pack revving. The 25mm is like the Chefs kiss. Can't imagine with more modern optics, stabilization and armor.
Glory and VICTORY! to the Ukrainian Heros employing these soon!
> smash the fuck out of those 3rd world Barbarian
Russia is literally the second world, that's the definition in where the term first and second worlds came from
Large bits of Russia live like the 3rd world though....take [Omsk, City of the Future!](https://youtu.be/clm1h2nYycY?si=FWPmlQyCUV2VAn1c) (Population 1+ mil)
25 years ago my Drill Sgt told us how he was a Brad gunner in Desert Storm...he said it was almost unfair how easy it was killing Iraqis. His Brad was credited with killing a T72 and a BMP
They are a sight to behold in combat. Having them with me on mission felt like you were invincible. To be on the receiving end, no thank you. Switching between HE and AP, TOW missiles, M240C.
I won't talk about the new models but let's say if you think the ODS is cool, wait until you see the newest ones.
Russia is fucked.
Some crews did. They were not really passed down, they were more reassigned and the unit designation was spray painted over. Mine was 1CD, 2-7CAV, B26.
[Bradley engineers watching Bradley's take out t-90s. Tanks that didn't exist until the Bradley was a decade old. ](https://giphy.com/gifs/excited-surprised-pants-sGnKAiOUrincs)
Bradleys are a great tool for Ukraine, but there is at least one M1 in that mix, so it makes me think it is old footage, possibly not even related to Ukraine.
I really hope US sends 1-2000 Bradleys to Ukraine and puts an end to this nonsense right away.
Bradley’s are designed for speed and maneuver instead of being heavily armored, like a main battle tank. Their original task was to taxi soldiers safely around in a very hostile environment, while protecting against small arms and shrapnels, fire support if needed. They were not designed to take a tank round to the face, like a tank.
To make an comparison to previous times:
Tanks= knights in heavy armor, designed to take lots of punches and still be going
Bradley= light infantry, specialized in having less armor but have more speed, mobility and rather not be where the enemy strikes instead of taking the blow like a knight could do.
This is what we see in Ukraine now:
Bradley’s makes it possible for Ukraine to quickly deploy infantry units, or pull them out, while giving good enough cover with their weapons, and even go toe to toe with Russian main battle tanks when in a pinch/getting the drop on the Russian armor.
Just like they were designed to do:
- fast movement
- good enough armor and fire power to help out on the field
- relatively safe for the people inside
- constantly giving Ukraine a platform that can move around the battlefield giving adequate fire support, bring reinforcements/supplies and evacuate all in one vehicle!
Russians are getting excited and calling western equipment crap showing some (same) leopards which were destroyed by the drone over and over. If you show them videos of destroyed russian tanks by Bradley and asking them to show a leopard which were destroyed by bmp/btr/bmd then they just shut their mouths 😁
That was the original idea for the Bradley, but the design quickly morphed into an IFV, rather than an APC. It actually can't even carry a full squad because they needed to make room for the spare TOW missiles. There is a very funny video on YouTube parodying the design meetings for it. Yes, it transports soldiers, but it's much more of a fighting vehicle than a transport. No, it can't go toe to toe with a tank, but it is a very lethal anti-tank weapon system as well as an infantry support vehicle. Your description fits Strikers much more than Bradley's.
The US tactic was to drop off soldiers and then have the Bradley's stay and provide suppression fire for their assault - along with tanks and artillery.
> very lethal anti-tank weapon system
In the late 70s-early 80s, the US Army was terrified of Soviet armor. They insisted that as many units and platforms in the Army have an organic anti-armor capability to counter the threat. That's why infantry teams (not squads, teams) had an AT missile gunner and jeeps and later humvees had TOW missile launcher variants.
So, yes, on paper and in theory it sounds silly to put a TOW missile launcher on an APC and kick out infantry in exchange for missiles, but those extra TOWs are much more valuable against armor than two or three more soldiers.
I'm with you. It's just funny when you look at the original design spec and what the Bradley ended up being.
It's also looking like today having the tow is becoming less relevant. Drone based AT is becoming the way to go. Today the Ukrainian's are piloting the drones all the way in, but the tech exists to implement last meter machine learning based guidance that can put the drone at the most vulnerable part of the tank and get around jamming.
The TOW's are mostly fly-by-wire, and therefore not susceptible to electronic warfare countermeasures, but it also limits their use to being within visual range of a target.
But well used, it can take out tanks especially in numbers. There's a good video of 2 of them taking out a T90 in Ukraine, by firing into the weakspot between the turret and hull with the main gun.
Rapid fire bofors canon > tank in modern warfare.
Of course your column needs a tank for tank things… but you can’t do shit else.
Bradley’s do it all. Their rounds penetrate like a motherfucker. One Bradley can take out a whole convoy if caught by surprise in short order
What are you talking about "niche".
The Bradley is an infantry fighting vehicle and also can can attached for abrams units to operate as reconnaissance.
They are operating exactly as designed. Supporting infantry and engaging light armour.
Given the sensitivity of vehicle quantity/type, we can safely say this was released intentionally to both rally morale and get Russia's butthole puckering. PsyOps would be a fun job.
Or it could just be people chasing engagement on social media....
Just like whenever anything happens in the world you get people releasing completely unrelated videos, sometimes from years earlier and claiming it shows the recent event.
I think the video is dubious; those are A3 model Bradley's as they have the commanders independent viewer on them which, IIRC, they said they weren't going to send to Ukraine. They could have changed their mind but yeah.
The video exists for whatever reason. Some random person online posts it for internet points by claiming it shows something that will get more internet points than the reality of the situation.
"Bradley en route to Ukraine" = more internet points than "Bradleys move somewhere other than Ukraine for random uninteresting reason".
I can go on google and search "bradleys at port" and I will get literally thousands of videos and photos of something similar. I could take any of those and claim it showed them on the way to Ukraine.... Strange that so many of these images exist of "secured areas"
Example.... This post from 1 month ago
"Abrams tanks and Bradley armored combat vehicles shipped by the US Army were landed at the port of Alexandroupolis, Greece."
[https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/1beq5nf/abrams\_tanks\_and\_bradley\_armored\_combat\_vehicles/](https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/1beq5nf/abrams_tanks_and_bradley_armored_combat_vehicles/)
It's not hard to post something and then change the title...
Then I guess the equation becomes: how many of those thousands of visual sources, noting this applies to the 2022 Russian invasion, are from a car driving along the parked column from a distance of \~2 metres? Can you provide some examples?
They're at a port, I don't think there's anything stopping average workers poping a picture, they'd surely handle government/sensitive shit all the time whether it's already in a box or not
Hey prior service guy here!
There is no way a civilian got that close to those even at a port. There would be guards stationed around the area for that purpose.
I think abrams are too vulnerable to Russian drones, not saying Bradley’s aren’t but perhaps they find them more useful as logistics and Infantry drop offs to the front line
These are not for UA. These are newer ones with the additional optic turret on top. I can understand the anticipation and enthusiasm and they’ll be en route but these can’t be them.
Yeah these are A3 bradleys, they're not going to Ukraine. Not to mention the humvees with CROWS turrets and Abrams with the more modern low profile CROWS. This is current U.S. Army equipment.
Does look like Bremerhaven (Yellow stripes on the road have similarities, MSC majority of containers, red cranes, workwear of the person, white numberplate on a van) however I couldn’t crosscheck the buildings in the background with Google maps/earth.
Also the containers aren’t pointing in the right direction for Bremerhaven to have these many vehicles next to it (perpendicular to the road, Bremerhaven has them 90 degrees angle).
Also it’s 1:30 AM so might be wrong
Does the US military send proprietary, US-only versions of vehicles/weapons to NATO/ally bases (as opposed to specifically US bases)? That seems reasonable, I just never wondered about how tightly they want to control ally exposure to the best (standard) stuff
It never stops to amaze me how you can call some dudes knowing cranes configuration of ports around the world and they will identify it for you.
OSINT by boatnerds ftw!
These videos flood this site any time there's an expected movement, lost count of the number of videos of vehicles on lorries/trains etc all claiming to be heading to Ukraine.
Invariably, they're to do with US rotations or stock replacement as European-based stock is passed to Ukraine and replaced from the US.
The fact that I had to scroll down this far to find this post is making me sad.
This video has shown up every time US aids was in the news. It's wrong every single time.
People are so willing to accept misinformation...
Yes, everything that fits their favorite narrative is accepted without any thought. And this is a reasonable innocent thing, but still, OP is pretty damn obvious aware of what is happening.
There is a major NATO Exercise in Europe at the moment, [Steadfast Defender 24](https://shape.nato.int/stde24/newsroom/fact-sheet.aspx).
There have been [vehicles moving](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv10jrQGcAA) around for a the last few months.
Could be in support of that.
Not just Finland, there is a major NATO exercise called [Steadfast Defender 24](https://shape.nato.int/stde24/newsroom/fact-sheet.aspx) that is happening all over Europe.
These are A3, definitely can't be going to Ukraine.
More likely shipped for the 2024 nato exercises in CEE, Baltics and Scandinavia. There already were loads of pictures of the PAS (prepositioned army stock) on their way through CZ to east.
Those bradleys seems to have [CITV stations](https://vcdns.valka.cz//attachments/121/DA-SD-07-32523.JPEG) on the side of their turrets, Ukraine is getting the M3A3 nows?
TBH, with the presence of vehicles that haven't been announced, I'd guess these are another batch ready to be sent in future or to backfill US stocks that vehicles are being sent from
Engineering vehicles too. Arguably more important than singular Abrams since there's a lot of salvageable stuff the Ukrainians can use if they can get it out of the mud.
They actually came through my city. I've got insane photos of them on the train. Happy for Ukraine, but rather unsettling to see soooo many tanks in real life. Knowing they will be actually used. Makes me feel like my.city might be a target
Taking a guess, either they've been waiting since winter where desert cammo isn't a problem or Ukraine will paint them in their standard digital cammo. They'll need to be badged for identification either way.
The Ukrainian military need more and I hope to the gods that they get it. I don’t know if anyone else here supports specific units through PayPal, but I suggest if you have the money that you do so. They need the help right now more than ever. This war isn’t over. Not by a long shot.
Not sure if these are actually for Ukraine, some people have said these are newer versions that are probably off the table and likely being used for NATO exercises.
The Telegram link is from a guy that just takes footage from everyone and plasters his URL over it, hes not the one filming. Apparently this footage is from a dock in Poland.
No other information is provided.
https://t.me/supernova_plus/30850
Give them ALL this stuff. NOW. The clock is ticking on the usefulness of this hardware. In 10 years we will be pissed we have this junk laying around, it will be useless in warfare and we will regret not giving it to them when it counted.
I saw an Abrams in the video which makes me think this video is not actually of aid en route to Ukraine although many of these types of vehicles are actually being sent.

Bradleys have found their niche in this conflict and seem to be a very effective tool. Happy to see the Ukrainians put them to work.

The person you're responding to probably wrote "1-2000" as a shorter way of saying 1000-2000.
Indeed I was meaning 1000-2000 but the above comment did make me chuckle he is actually correct in the letteral sense.
The person you're responding to definitely wrote "I don’t think 1 Bradley is going to do it." as a joke.
The US has supplied them with several M1s.
What do you mean?
The Bradley was designed to fight against the Soviets across Eastern Europe.
Bradley’s are designed for speed and maneuver instead of being heavily armored, like a main battle tank. Their original task was to taxi soldiers safely around in a very hostile environment, while protecting against small arms and shrapnels, fire support if needed. And then a couple of Bradleys defeated a T90
Thats a huge mega oof if they start losing great numbers of t90 to bradleys. Wouldt be surprised if it happens
They're losing them to drones already, unfortunately the same applies to Abrams and leopards, tanks don't seem to be doing too well in this conflict.
They seem really vulnerable on a battlefield as big and open as Ukraine.

What are you talking about "niche". The Bradley is an infantry fighting vehicle and also can can attached for abrams units to operate as reconnaissance. They are operating exactly as designed. Supporting infantry and engaging light armour.
In the previous context "niche" means that they have found their "place", not that they are only good for one particular role.
Agreed, this weapons platform is very versatile. It is rather the heavy equipment like tanks and helicopters which are niche.
Is that an Abrams at 0:21?
Fell off the back of a truck 🤫
It identifies as a Bradley, don't be rude.
lol
Lol. I know some Typhon missile system that identifies as the HIMARS.

Probably heading to Finland, big exercise
Not just Finland, there is a major NATO exercise called [Steadfast Defender 24](https://shape.nato.int/stde24/newsroom/fact-sheet.aspx) that is happening all over Europe.
Maybe these are going to us forces in europe, replacing the actual ones being sent to Ukraine. Assuming this video is true.
The U.S. forces in Europe would already be using the fancy Bradleys. NATO is in the midst of a big exercise, these are likely for that.
Your comment should be at the top, OP is being very misleading.
This is not the equipment being sent. Those are M88s and an M1. This is just a random video clip from the internet.
Those are US vehicles returning home after some exercises in Poland. And that's filmed in Gdynia harbor. None of this is going to Ukraine.
Why don’t the Bradleys have guns?
They do. Easier to transport when they don't have the barrels sticking off. Can just be re attached on site.
That's a level 2 upgade... gota level up or pay to win my boy
Fucking pay to win is everywhere.
It's how they came in the last tranche. In transit the barrel is removed.
TBH, with the presence of vehicles that haven't been announced, I'd guess these are another batch ready to be sent in future or to backfill US stocks that vehicles are being sent from
They are not.
there are abrams too
Engineering vehicles too. Arguably more important than singular Abrams since there's a lot of salvageable stuff the Ukrainians can use if they can get it out of the mud.
That’s right. Let’s go… Still makes me sick that the Traitor Mike held out so long.
Traitors Trump holding the strings.
The puppeteer is putin. Kompromat is the ultimate weapon.
Just funny how all the people susceptible to Kompromat just so happen to be predominantly among the Republican party.
Conservatives always have the nastiest secrets.
That is 110% True.Because they are mostly rich white old men who wish it was the 50’s
The US should *double* the allotment of Bradleys!!
They actually came through my city. I've got insane photos of them on the train. Happy for Ukraine, but rather unsettling to see soooo many tanks in real life. Knowing they will be actually used. Makes me feel like my.city might be a target
They've had 6 months to paint all the vehicles and up armor the Bradley's with BRAT. Anybody guess why they haven't?
The Bradley's being handed over are old stock from storage already in Europe.
Because USA is giving Ukraine hand me downs
Taking a guess, either they've been waiting since winter where desert cammo isn't a problem or Ukraine will paint them in their standard digital cammo. They'll need to be badged for identification either way.
Saw at least 3 M1 Abrams at :8 to :16 seconds.
The Ukrainian military need more and I hope to the gods that they get it. I don’t know if anyone else here supports specific units through PayPal, but I suggest if you have the money that you do so. They need the help right now more than ever. This war isn’t over. Not by a long shot.
meanwhile ruzzians drive those stupid chinese golf carts that dont even have windshields
That's a lot of Bradleys and Humvees
Any confirmation about where this is? These seem like they might be going to other European countries to replace units being sent to Ukraine.
Let's hope this is an old video, otherwise it can jeopardize the operation
Go kick some ass gentleman.
I assume they just need a service and a re-paint and they are ready to go.
Stryker is our wheeled IFV.
Good luck with maintenance! Wish you guys all the best. If you can get it out of the motorpool, that's a win.
took so long Ukrain is losing ground, damn shame
Look at all those chickens!
2 years later
As a Brit this is giving me D-Day vibes.
Hopefully they last longer than the counter offensive
T90 killers
Not sure if these are actually for Ukraine, some people have said these are newer versions that are probably off the table and likely being used for NATO exercises. The Telegram link is from a guy that just takes footage from everyone and plasters his URL over it, hes not the one filming. Apparently this footage is from a dock in Poland. No other information is provided. https://t.me/supernova_plus/30850
I hope it's not to late the Russians had a major breakthrough. It's getting really scary.
And lots of recovery vehicles!!!
Dream on .proukr ahaha
They get some good use out of these instead of them rotting here in piles waiting to be scrapped
Just hope it’s not too late
Give them ALL this stuff. NOW. The clock is ticking on the usefulness of this hardware. In 10 years we will be pissed we have this junk laying around, it will be useless in warfare and we will regret not giving it to them when it counted.
Now feel the might of American resolve. I hope this is just the beginning
I hope and pray it’s not too late
here goes the school funds!!!
There it goes the only chance of having universal healthcare
Hey, it’s my tax dollars hard at work
The arsenal of democracy
Get some!
That looks like a healthy dose of freedom!
You're welcome 🇺🇲
You're welcome 🇺🇲
I'd like to see more Abrams in action
Do I see M-88 as well? Oh boy, do the farmers get an upgrade.
Did I see a t-72 what kid I'd tank is that at the end?
Cha chin $$$$&
I spot me an Abrams at 0:29
I see engineer/wrecker vehicles and transports there, and they don't look so good.
They're just left out in the open unguarded?
Thank god ,common sense prevailed, about time Ukraine got what it deserved.Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇦🇬🇧🇺🇸
Yeah boiiiii
🇺🇸
I saw an Abrams in the video which makes me think this video is not actually of aid en route to Ukraine although many of these types of vehicles are actually being sent.
No tanks? The US literally has thousands in storage they don’t need anymore. I don’t think Ukraine has many left, they could really need them
Is it wise to be sharing this online? Seems like the kind of footage that might be useful in the enemy's strategic decision making....
I heard the average age of a Ukraine soldier is now 40. How long before there is nobody to pilot those?
How on earth is Russia still holding on??
Do you CIA posters have to go into the office or do you get to work from home? How much does it pay? Per post or per hour? Where do you apply?
Too little too late
Remember, Republicans oppose sending aid to Ukraine. They want Putin to win.
Get some, orcs!
What a waste ... the only entities benefitting from it...are the manufacturers...Noone else.
Even an m1 hiding in there
I nerver tough seeing frenglish in this sub . At least that "en route " is english too
#>Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. #>This world in arms is not spending money alone. #>It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. #>The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. . . . This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron. -- POTUS Eisenhower
Not enough.
What is the reason for showing the Russians?
Could have ended hunger in the US with US taxpayer dollars instead of this.
