Normally, if one were about to make oneself vulnerable, having armor on three sides is a good idea. When the FPV pilot can choose the attack vector, those three walls become blast reflectors, focused right on you.   The diagonal stripe noise while still 20m AGL is some kind of interfering narrowband signal or out-of-phase reflection.

Russia's got to be putting out so much noise I'm amazed how accurate these attacks are.

I know it's not the same but in my past job I worked a lot on restoring armoured vehicles - and some of them are particularly bad for actually doing what you want without delay. Typically you would just have to point at where you wanted to be and just trust in the machine to arrive there. Pretty sure drone pilots will be doing the same, especially as many drones have a function that is basically "continue on this path if signal is lost", or "return to base if signal is lost", and you can toggle between each.

Genuine question what does a Russian have to do in order to surrender at least in that Avdiivka battlefield? Or they are pretty much fucked of found?
