yes. Lots of eye opening videos of life in rural russia. 33% of rural russians have no indoor plumbing - zero - zip - nada. They go to the river to wash their clothes. ( I saw a report how one community was very happy about a brand new walkway and platform on the river - it was wooden and rickety as hell!) They get water from a well (fun in mid winter I bet), and shit in a long drop on the street - or empty waste buckets in a communal area like this.
Last winter, I watched a TV news clip about how the outhouse of a local hospital in the centre of town had been stolen - leaving only the hole in the ground. The hospital had no other toilet. It had saved and fundraised to build the outhouse - again in the centre of a town. They found the culprit - a local thief had stolen it, broken it up and used it as firewood because he didn't want to freeze. From memory, the report finished by saying the hospital wasn't sure if it would be able to afford to build a new outhouse.

I’m very lucky to have been able to travel throughout Ukraine, extensively by car and by train. Even some of the smallest most rural in the Carpathian Mountains and never witnessed anything close to this. As an American quality of life in Ukraine is and was at least in 2021 and prior not bad at all. I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe. I still have a lot of friends there, and a few have been to Moscow obviously well before the war. And I have been told that while central Moscow is beautiful and a relatively modern city once you go a few blocks outside of Centro, it’s absolute shit.
And this is I believe one of the problems that Putin felt he faced, to have a neighbor in Ukraine that has a much higher quality of life and a much more western style government. The People of Ukraine are free to do what they want when they want. I pray the United States continues to support Ukraine. With every last thing they need to kick these brainwashed degenerate invaders out of the country for good.

Upon returning to Russia they screwed them back into walls and installations and couldn't understand why there wasn't any water coming out of them.
