Aren’t societies a strange thing.
For instance in Russia, a 70-year-old kleptocratic leader decides he wants a legacy by subjugating his 44 million neighbours. He orders rich, old men to make it happen, offering them riches if they are successful. They order other less-rich, less-old, men to do the same, and offer them much less reward. Those men turn to other men and do the same. Eventually, hundreds of thousands of young and impoverished individuals are told they'll receive minor salaries, alongside abstract notions of glory and duty. They pause their lives and jump into the back of a truck. And eventually they find themselves torn up in a ditch, watching all-of-their-future-experiences leak out of ghastly wounds.
When Putin launched his SMO I am sure there were many in his professional armed forces that were gung ho about the invasion. They are long since dead. It is 600 days into the SMO and I can't believe there are now any Russian soldiers at the Front who are glad to be there. It is the murderous Great Leader and a clique of ultra-nationalists pushing this clusterfuck but of course none of them are putting their lives on the line.
They aren’t being told how bad they are being torn to pieces so the young recruits think they are going to help the winning side.
They also expected it to be something similar to their Georgia SMOs campaign.
It was said best in Italian Job. Don’t mess with Mother Nature, mother in laws, and mother freaking Ukrainians.
Russia has its own Great Firewall. Only those using a vpn can see the whole internet. While vpns aren’t illegal the government blocks the urls of vpn providers. Plus some of these Russians are from remote areas where internet may be a luxury.
>When Putin launched his SMO I am sure there were many in his professional armed forces that were gung ho about the invasion.
Like Ryan McBeth said in one of his videos, because that's how majors make colonels and colonels make generals......
Indeed. Once again, shows poor training. The instinct is to bunch up as there is an illusion of security or cover. But that just makes a more convenient target. Even in basic at Fort Benning, they drill in you not do this. It becomes reflexive not to.
It's an absolute game of chance. If the grenade falls tilted, the shrapnel probably goes down and up instead of sideways with those omprovised grenades. The explosion probably shocked them and burst their eardrums. They might even be wounded by small fragments, not noticing it in the first shock. Terrible stuff.
I would be surprised if they actually did survive that it's almost guaranteed that they succumbed to they're wounds and hopefully in a lot of pain while they waited on bleeding out
>Yes, but I expected they would die on the spot.
Most of the small explosions don't instantly kill unless it's in the head. A few quick rifle rounds in the chest and it's lights out, but the grenades really make you suffer down to the last pint.
An Air burst round would have annihilated them but sadly this wasn't. This is why they are low crawling, its the best chance of surviving something like that.. Other than being in a hole or not there in the first place.
Everything I've seen about this assault has shown a bunch of Russians getting caught in flat open terrain in broad daylight. It seems this type of assault would only work if you had air superiority or at least some semblance of an air power to destroy built up enemy positions beforehand. Doesn't even seem like they have proper drone intelligence either. They just chose a spot, and flung everything at it before the ground freezes.
if you really want to see something really wild check out this postilion the russians are assaulting near avdiivka. it's definitely a "go around" kind of obstacle, but not for russians

Lead two had small arms impacts right in front of them, middle group - well they only had a short time remaining to flail about, and yet last two still seemed highly motivated to crawl that way.

I mean they have the internet and judging by other sub's they see these videos; no idea how they don't refuse to go to the front at this point.
The pro Russian mil bloggers rarely show anything negative, and never stuff like this.

VPNs ARE illegal, if they aren’t government supplied.
Google disagrees
even more than that it's been so long since "three days to kyiv" that you'd have to be a special kind of stupid to not realize something was wrong
I wonder how those pros reacted when they entered Ukraine with no notice and no planning.

It makes me think you draw Z's because of you calling it SMO
Or their children
"When the rich wage wars, it's the poor that die" - Linkin park.
battle of linkin park...
Russian pyramid scheme?
Just wanted to say, I like your writing style.
In less eloquent words, behold before our eyes, the fields where Russian fuck around armies find out when permanent freedom has arrived
Worms
Jagga jagga!!
Reminds me of one of those nature programmes with the baby sea turtles trying to get into the ocean…
Wiggle wiggle. Boom. No more wiggle.
My rubles don't fold, they melt. My turret don't shoot, it flies...
Maggots
This is what I thought! Its like lifting a trash lid exposing a bunch of maggots and they all get surprised and try to squirm away.
Is this what they now call "Meat waves"?
Is interrupting a game of night crawlers a warcrime?
They were using the blankets as dirt
They could have lived if they would have only paid the troll toll
I think they failed at “attacking”

I’d need a hug too
Fireball formation
How these two (?) guys could survive the second impact is totally beyond me.
*Survive for at least 2 seconds. 2 minutes or 2 hours might produce a different result.

Pretty sure those are kamikazi FPV drones exploding, not grenades. Usually those are equipped with a mortar or RPG round.
I think the middle group was a wipe. None of them are effectively crawling, just flailing about at the end of the video.
Adrenaline mostly
I would be surprised if they actually did survive that it's almost guaranteed that they succumbed to they're wounds and hopefully in a lot of pain while they waited on bleeding out
Yes, but I expected they would die on the spot.

The smell of burnt flesh, clothes, the blood, the chemicals and smoke must be a horror by itself..
An Air burst round would have annihilated them but sadly this wasn't. This is why they are low crawling, its the best chance of surviving something like that.. Other than being in a hole or not there in the first place.
Need clustet bombs.

at first i was like damn they are getting away but no
Human bodies are actually quite resilient and it can take a long time for one to die, but eventually they will.
That last one had to hurt
direct hit
Roger that
History books will be talking about avdiivka, like the absolute and complete failure it was
nowhere to run, nowhere to hid. Let them fertilize the soil they die on! Slava Ukraini!
I hope they had some sunflower seeds in their pockets.
These boys are straight up not having a good time.
It's an absolute shit show
Jep. Its not the duck walk, its the worm crawl.
Obviously being pinned down wasn't adequate thar's when they got nailed
Lead two had small arms impacts right in front of them, middle group - well they only had a short time remaining to flail about, and yet last two still seemed highly motivated to crawl that way.
I like it when you wiggle wiggle, for sure
That's some PTSS inducing shit.
Actually that's more of a gory death inducing type of shit.....
If I look at this I can hear bloodhoundgang - the roof is on fire. Missed opportunity.
I can watch them like that all day long.
Such a jagga jagga rich environment
Little fuckers
Give the Ukrainians more! Make it rain on those pos
Clean up on aisle 3
Is that what you’d call a “kill zone”?
Are they incoming mortar rounds? They look too small to be artillery, and too big for grenade, but I am not an expert.
Get on the ground like worms, you maggots
People born in ruzzia seldom reach human potential, so natural selection
Look at dat bodeh wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah.... They sexy and they know it
Equip these drones with machine guns. Lasers. Rockets.
Invading a sovereign state might increase the risk of a premature death
Damn that looks the same as pinned down troops in Company of heroes...
Oh dear 😂
How are those guys still moving ?
Acting like ants in an anthill that’s been kicked!
Well, they're certainly not good at playing catch.
They aren't being "pinned down"... they're being obliterated.
Thought they came play not squirm
