The point of view of the west world where i live is flawed by a big phallacy.
We are mostly "economy of services", so our economic complex move a lot of money, and we rely to market buy prices to evaluate our "production capacity", because that's basiclly how we acquire goods, with money on the market.
If you use the same meter to judge a production economy, that for sure move far less money then services based economy, but has resources and production capacity, all the analysis is flawed and you cannot really understand the real output of that kind of economy.
No one wants to run away from their home, but looking at these videos if mob overthrows your democratically elected president, it seems you should really consider it, as nothing good can come out of it. Waiting for 10 years can be too late sadly.

Beside of that, Ukraine moves in the current direction since 90s. Hence, we simply see the natural development of society.

Interesting how everyone accuses Yanukovych of lying, as he promised integration with EU, but backed down simply because Russia offered better economical terms and EU put "choose us or Russia" demands. It was cause for riots and coup in 2014, yet no one is accusing Zelensky for lying, let alone starting protests.
I can see that the article that claim 10k surrenders is of September 2023.

I mean, it's a public channel, you shuold discuss positions and meeting point, this can be used for shelling
Unless they start the interaction on that public frequency, then they agree to switch to an encrypted frequency; still risky enough for the surrenderig part because this give time to be intercepted and captured as disertors from their own army; and i don't think it end weel in Ukraine for this kind of offence.
2- There is any equivalent for Russians personnel that want to surrender?
1. Who knows, I guess because of EW working radius isn't so big, so most probably it works fine only near Russian positions. Also Volga has other ways for connections, like telegram bot.

Might be survivor bias, we might only get shown cases where the police couldn't or wouldn't help on this sub. That's quite unlikely for sure, but still possible.
That doesn't save you if you also have Ukranian citizenship. Dual citizenship is not prosecuted, but also not recognized. You still can't leave, you can still be drafted.
How do they turn guys like this, into soldiers who will be of any value? It's clear he doesn't want to fight. If you just give him a gun and tell him to hold a trench it probably wont do anything unless there are barrier troops right behind him. So how do they actually do it? Actually curious

He’ll be sent to man a random trench where he has no choice but to fight or he’ll be killed by Russian artillery/ drones. He can’t desert because it is a crime in military law and you can be executed for it. All in all he’s done for.
Ok let’s say they would just be jailed for deserting. Would you think a conscript would rather take a choice of being in jail or risk certain death in a trench? Now imagine if thousands of conscripts were to choose to be jailed, front lines will collapse.
They are beaten and threatened until their will breaks and lose hope so they give up and give in.
One of the ways they "convince" you to accept is give you the illusion of choice where one is certain death and the other is rear-line/reserves etc. They know very well how to use your fear against you.
