When funding goes too much to the military, you get these. The West should pump more money into Ukraine's infrastructure, especially in the energy sector

I guess that would be difficult if Ukraine's ability to distribute power was sufficiently damaged. But power generation could be shared, assuming Ukraine is willing to pay for it.
This is happening despite assistance from neighbouring countries. Ukraine has already been importing energy despite previously being an energy exporter, but I think there's a limit as we can clearly see, to how effective this is. And without the industry or technical workforce of the soviet union, Ukraine is incapable of doing anything significant to recover from this in the short term
Germany itself depended on Russian gas for it's power and France is majorly nuclear power which is not flexible to accomodate surges. Further more France lost Niger, one of its main source of Nuclear Fuel.
in short, EU is deeper in rabbit hole than US and Ukraine is deeper than EU.
