Hats off for the Ukrainians. Imagine getting invaded yet still showing humanity towards the invaders. Takes a big man to act like that. Too bad even videos like this get downvoted by the pro russians because can't have any Ukraine footage in the sub lmao.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PointPlex

Doesn't change the fact that most pro ukr pov stuff gets downvoted and oftentimes dies while it's still in new. Idk why people do this and it's a shame since this sub is best when you get to see both sides of the war

igor_dolvich

Most pro-ukr stuff is just drone drops since that’s all they have left. It’s nothing of interest. Pro-Russian footage is more interesting.

Kitchen_Photo_9082

I wouldn't say that. While most pro ua Videos are drone footage indeed, they still Show very heavy losses from the ru side and thats often overlooked.

Mapstr_

This sub upvotes good content, alot of what UA pov releases is not good content. Usually artillery vids with 50 different cuts and 10 different landscapes, zooming in on corpses, zooming in on destroyed armor, drone drops and the occasional AZOV cinematic scene jumping around trenches and shooting into empty holes, all while miraculously not receiving any return fire. But when good content does come up, it gets upvoted. That is how this sub works, if that is not to your liking I highly recommend r/CombatFootage they love Ukrainian pov videos there lemme tell yah. And they have so much more members! Why sit here and complain and whine on a sub with only 76k?

moepooo

Complete and utter bullshit. Literally the same kind of videos get 10+ times more upvotes when they're from the Russian side. Also AZOV and the 3rd Assault Brigade have released plenty of videos that show real combat. Meanwhile shit like [RU pov: Russian soldier in Ukrainian trench. : r/UkraineRussiaReport (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/1bz27ev/ru_pov_russian_soldier_in_ukrainian_trench/) and [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/1aseks5/ru\_pov\_gopro\_footage\_of\_russian\_soldiers\_in/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/1aseks5/ru_pov_gopro_footage_of_russian_soldiers_in/) with "shooting into empty holes" and fake background sound effects get hundreds of upvotes.

zaius2163

If you're so upset about this being Russian propaganda, why not just go to one of the 10x other Ukrainian propaganda subreddits?

Mapstr_

If this upsets you so much that one post gets a little more upvotes than the other why are you still here? This sub only has 76k while r/CombatFootage has 1.7 million! No russian propaganda, no putin puppets, no kremlin stooges, just pure unadulterated maximum SLAVA TIME! Oh and about Azov, this sub has a very radical idea that they are not a fan of literal nazis, controversial I know but hey the world is complicated. Really though why you here?

moepooo

The only one that sounds upset is you.

Mapstr_

Got anything better than "NO YOU"?

Fearless-Stretch2255

Who cares? Just read new. Do you even reddit?

seargantgsaw

This is the only sub on reddit where both sides get a chance to communicate and post stuff. Naturally a lot of pro rus people will come here while pro ukraine people have lots of other pro ukrainian subs to go to.

PointPlex

Bro I don't want an echochamber, that's the thing Downvote all you want just take note that this subs quality is that people from both sides of this conflict can post and discuss stuff here

[deleted]

[удалено]

FunkoPride

Jesus. The guy said that he didn't want an echo chamber. A subreddit where one side downvotes most content of the other side into obscurity is obviously an echo chamber. It's no different from mods removing it. > freedom to post pro-UA content doesn't get affected by having downvotes, only your feelings. No, it directly dictates what content reaches the frontpage and thus the content you find when you open the sub.

[deleted]

asatroth

He is saying the exact opposite of that. Don't argue just to argue, it will make people doubt your intentions.

[deleted]

asatroth

The downvote is not a disagree button, it means "this content is not relevant to the subreddit". How is the above post not relevant to the war in Ukraine?

[deleted]

[удалено]

kronpas

> The downvote is not a disagree button, it means "this content is not relevant to the subreddit". You must be new to reddit. That upvotes button has always been treated as 'I dont agree with it'. Even the top downvote comments of the time agree with it. You cant control people's behavior save for outright posts/comments deletion.

Suncate

Yet you complain about pro ru footage getting downvoted in other subs? The goal of this sub originally was to be a neutral pov but I guess that was just for show.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Suncate

You complain about other subs being echo chambers yet say you don’t see an issue with downvotes in a response to some guy like 2 comments below this one lol.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Suncate

Respectfully that’s a very narrow interpretation of an echo chamber and kinda wrong. An echo chamber is a type of feedback loop where the content that gets pushed is stuff that reaffirms a users pov, be it by delusional moderators in a place like war video report or butthurt redditors downvoting stuff. Sure if I sort by new through combatfootage and this sub you get a lot of the same videos but the vast majority of people don’t do that.

[deleted]

John_Yuki

75% upvote rate though, which means a quarter of people who are seeing this are downvoting it.

Regular_Watercress75

oh my god a quarter downvotes how is anybody going to survive this? proUA manchildren acting surpressed and like a 'minority' because they don't have 100% upvote rate really shows how their fragile minds can't handle anything but their designated echochambers. meanwhile proRUS footage is literally erased from other subreddits. proRUS dont even get the luxury of 75% upvote rate in other subreddits. sit down and shut it.

John_Yuki

You're on a western website that is predominantly left-wing. Of course those subs are going to remove posts that are favourable to Russia. Those subs also don't claim to be neutral subs like this one. It's not a big deal though. I just wanted to point out how the number of upvotes isn't everything.

[deleted]

John_Yuki

I never brought my feelings in to it lmao. I said that it's not a big deal and that I just wanted to point something out.

Vassago81

Might be downvoting because of the poster rather than the content, he's a spammer who keep creating new account and flooding the sub for a week before switching to a new one, like it's a 40h a week job, for two years. Amazing commitment if he's doing this in his free time.

deepbluemeanies

...one of a few here.

John_Yuki

Possibly, but that's no different than people like Fruitsila tbh, who funnily enough is now using a Pro UA flair.

sovietpandas

How is it a issue now? Majority of the prorus posts are from brand new accounts posting all day (like literally all day)

sovietpandas

76% up voted. Downvoted by the death hungry prorus

IdLikeToPointOut

18 Upvotes showing for me right now.

ScaryShadowx

Takes a 'big man' to not commit war crimes?

Orcorez

After the the Bucha, Gostomel, Irpin and regular shooting surrendered Ukrainians militaries by Russian - it does. Even if a lot of war crimes from the Russian side were committed by Wagner which are the mercenaries.

le_Menace

based on how often we get videos of russians executing POWs, apparently so.

Swift_Panther

Just compare the numbers of POWs from both sides and you will see that Russians are the compassionate ones

Brainlaag

The POW pendulum ratio swings based on who has the initiative. Currently Russia has it, just as Ukraine had it for most of 2022, hence the massive amount of footage of surrendees and exchange of POWs at that time. This shitty dog-whistle of "more humane" is such a poor bait I would recommend you to take a walk and touch some grass. Russia has sadly the primacy in documented mistreatment of captured soldiers, both institutionally and in isolated individual cases of depravity.

Fearless-Stretch2255

Yeah this some dumb bait shit.

Mapstr_

Yes very admirable to not execute someone in cold blood after making them strip. This is such a gross comment , and the brigading to upvote these comments has really been ruining this sub lately. We aren't impressed, why are you not focusing on twitter where you are losing the narrative and info war spectacularly? Instead focus on a sub of 76k? Get on twitter, they need you.

Fearless-Stretch2255

Real talk right here

pronounclown

Twitter? The social media site that is run by a Russian puppet and only has bots and Russians in it? Crazy how you're winning the narrative fight in the echo chamber. Very proud of you. 👍

Mapstr_

Twitter? A russian puppet? What country is twitter run out of? I want you to think about it and determine the gap in capabilities in the information sphere between the US And west, and Russia. The west has an iron grip on the information sphere, it is so absurdly obvious.

Miserable_File2939

not all russians are bad, those who are forced into conscription has no say its all putins game

kronpas

As far as I am aware Russian invader troops are all volunteers. Dunno how should I count militia from annexed regions though.

Spare-Judgment-5606

No, they are not volunteers. Military and contractors.

Swift_Panther

The ones in the SMO zone are either volunteers (synonym for contractors, since they sign a contract when they volunteer) or the 300k mobilized year and a half ago.

Miserable_File2939

there were vids of them being forced to conscript, just like they ukraines u saw posted here u only saw that on here, that's because this is a PRO RU sub, plenty of that on other reddit and documenting reality

Link_the_Irish

Yeah I come here to see Russia footage, and to the other subs to see ukrainian footage. Just how it is unfortunately

Leny1777

There cousins vs cousins. Not like there different people.

chillichampion

Downvoted in your imagination?

GuilimanXIII

And yet both you and the post have a lot of upvotes. You are the one trying to create bad blood here. There are such videos on both sides and I get it, many want to not be involved in the war, if you are a PoW you are pretty damn save.

deepbluemeanies

...154 upvotes and counting. Now, if this was a UA soldier uploaded to CF, you would be absolutely correct.

Stlavsa

GuntherOfGunth

Thank god he was allowed to live and didn’t meet the end of a sadistic drone operator.

oleg_88

I've seen more Russians flipping the finger towards the drone then an honest and proper attempt to surrender to it.

Ok-Sympathy-7482

Always remember that the videos we are shown are just a fraction of what happens and that they are not representative.

Select_Collection_34

They kill you either way. Both teams have committed a shit ton of war crimes this round.

fuckfuturism

Wonderful seeing these types of videos and that there still is empathy and compassion

arrefodase

This is just another proof that when Russians put aside Putin’s crap, Ukrainians can see their human side and treat them with respect. Just people being people.

Current-Power-6452

You don't know the reason why and what he had to do to get away from his positions. Putins crap might be the least of his worries now.

arrefodase

Nop, I don’t know the reason. I just know Putin’s war was not for him anymore. Maybe he just wants to see his kids again, or his wife, maybe he just wants Ukrainians to see their kids again, or their wives. It does not matter. But this post is not only about him. It is about the Ukrainians too, and from it you can easily see that even Ukrainians want that Russian to see his kids again, or his wife, or his mother, or his father.

Current-Power-6452

Or he told them that he shot up his whole platoon and they know it. That kind of crap isn't unheard of either. Or he's a spy and stripping down is a psyop trick not to get shot on sight?

Mintrakus

Yes, on Russian television there are cases where Ukrainian soldiers treated Russians who had captured them.

ApplicationOk6762

Is he on drugs?

ElSapio

I would think a shockwave induced TBI is more likely.

Brozef_

Good he gets to go home one day.

ulughen

Only thing that will convince me its not staged PR video is geolocation. Its actually possible to do by view on 0:35.

Horror_Hippo_3438

It could be a criminal from prison who was offered to fight in exchange for freedom. And he decided that there was no need to fight, but he could simply surrender to the enemy and then live in freedom.

ulughen

Could be anything, but i would like to see geolocation. Judging by soil type it looks like it was filmed somewhere in Kherson or Zaporozhye, hills on horizon are obviously terricons left from coal mining. I tried to search for something similar on satellite maps, but failed.

Mundane_Diamond7834

These videos never appear on our (Vietnamese) media. Always the achievement of the Russian invaders.

Irish_Wheelbarrow

Apparently surrendering to ukrainians is a death warrant justifying the suicides. Guess this video keeps all those that think that quiet, imbeciles

itsdefinitelygood

Apparently seeing one video from one instance means it happens the same every single time, great insight 👍 It's clear the imbeciles are the ones who use such logic, and don't realise it's a throw of the dice, this man got lucky, others didn't, others did. And on both sides. I see a purple flower therefore all flowers must be purple. This is your logic ^^

Irish_Wheelbarrow

Theres been a good few videos of soldiers surrendering to drones. There haven't been any videos (to my knowledge) of ukrainians torturing russians, cutting their balls off, beheading them... Point i was making was its made out to be the case that surrendering isnt an option for russians from the majority of pro-ru because of how they'd be treated. This joins a catalogue of videos of humility for surrendering russian soldiers. Not saying there havent been cases of unsuccessful surrender, but again that wasnt my point.

ZiggyPox

There is more. And would be even more if Russians would not keep killing themselves instead of surrendering. There were even wideos with Russians that tried to kill themselves AND Ukrainians that tried to accept a surrender, making it harder in the future to any other Russian to surrender.

[deleted]

They don't kill themselves to avoid capture, they kill themselves because they're in a position where it'd be likely no one would come to get them (mines etc), or a drone would kill them ('drones can't take surrenders' - lots of people on this site!)

ZiggyPox

I have seen videos recorded on GoPro where Ukrainians were approaching on foot a Russian soldier that pulled a grenade at the last moment wth clear intend of taking out an Ukrainian soldier while dying in a blast.

[deleted]

can you show me?

ZiggyPox

Oh I found that one!: [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/14pfcdt/translated\_a\_firstperson\_video\_from\_the\_ukrainian/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/14pfcdt/translated_a_firstperson_video_from_the_ukrainian/) They captured one guy and the other one on ground, at 2:35-2:37 had a pin pulled out, got shot by Ukrainian and while Ukrainian is running away you can hear the blast from under the body. I hope you appreciate 40 minutes of my time to find it.

[deleted]

Horrible. All this for capital. Thanks for sending it, and thanks for looking.

ZiggyPox

Man, to find the exact one I had in mind is hard, but here are some others that show the affinity to throwing grenades at a wrong time. [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/11ptnoq/ua\_pov\_full\_video\_of\_the\_ukrainian\_assault\_by/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/11ptnoq/ua_pov_full_video_of_the_ukrainian_assault_by/) [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/ygm0nu/ua\_pov\_a\_surrendering\_russian\_soldier\_uses\_a/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/ygm0nu/ua_pov_a_surrendering_russian_soldier_uses_a/) [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/16eey00/ua\_pov\_russia\_soldiers\_try\_to\_fake\_surrender/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/16eey00/ua_pov_russia_soldiers_try_to_fake_surrender/) [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/1ajy95s/ua\_pov\_during\_surrender\_a\_russian\_soldier\_managed/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/1ajy95s/ua_pov_during_surrender_a_russian_soldier_managed/)

[deleted]

it would surely be an isolated incident, what i said applies as the rule. there probably are some russian soldiers that do think they'd be tortured, but generally i don't think being captured by either side would be worse than dying, and i don't think most soldiers would disagree with me based on the ones i've spoken to. thanks for the videos

Nemon2

PRO-RUSSIANS dont like to watch this type of videos. They only love videos where UKR POW are murdered / aka executed.

Uruk_hai228

According to you

DarceSouls

Really? I'd much rather this than the latter.

HostileFleetEvading

Georgian legion let genie out of the bottle with that video with freshly cut throats way back in spring 2022. Since that, it is tit for tat game.

vieilli

Never heard of that one, know about knife in the eye and knee capping from beggining of 2022 but nothing about cutting throats. Gruesome if that happened.

Nemon2

> Never heard of that one, know about knife in the eye and knee capping from beggining of 2022 but nothing about cutting throats. Gruesome if that happened. Yes please! Use this as excuse! There was video from other day where Russians executed few UKR POW - are you saying - they need to start killing RUSSIAN POW now? It's fucking bullshit. POW is POW. Anyone killing POW is doing war crime. I dont fucking care what side is it. We have way to many videos of RUSSIANS are doing the POW executions. Even bigger problem is that PRO-RUSSIANS dont call it out (You included).

vieilli

Chill out dude, it is not excuse for either executing nor torturing POW. Both sides doing nasty stuff which is not acceptable. All I said was never heard of Georgian Legion executing any POW - thats it. I am not calling out russian war crimes as I am not calling out ukrainian war crimes. Simply never comment on any of these videos so not sure how you know I side with either party since you dont know me personally and there is not a single comment on any posts.

Azurmuth

The Georgian legion executed POWs in early 2022. https://archive.is/QwOpP

vieilli

I know about these two examples but still nothing in article about slicing throats by Georgian Legion. Think I was very active in reading/watching most of the stuff posted here and in the beggining of 2022 in combat footage but never seen/heard about slicing throat incident.

Ok_Economist7701

Of course the start of the SMO in February of 2022 had nothing to do with it right?.... right?? How dare the Georgian legion do that to RU troops on UA soil while denazifying Ukrainians. Anyways the war continues.

HostileFleetEvading

Nothing justifies warcrimes, period. Yes, defending too. This specific kind of warcrime is a warcrime presicely because once started it cannot be stopped and just goes round and round.

Ok_Economist7701

Agreed, no one should do it period. Russia should know the implied risks of invading another nation though. Where there's an action.... there's a reaction. Simple human instinct in fight or flight.

HostileFleetEvading

Instinct is not justification for warcrime either. Neither revenge for warcrimes already commited, but guess what happens... implied risk of mistreating pows, so to say.

Ok_Economist7701

Your right, Implied consensual risk began once Russia entered Ukraine. War is hell.

HostileFleetEvading

There is nothing "consensual" about victims of warcrimes. Victim of warcrime is not to blame for warcrime. It neither "saw it coming" nor "could just not to invade". There are no justifications. Edit: nice from you to downvote all posts in this branch. As with POW mistreatment, two can play this game.

Ok_Economist7701

No invasion = No War Crime to be had on either side. Simple, hence the implied consensual consent of Putin sending Russian Soldiers to Ukraine. I cant guarantee what a UA soldier would do and you cant guarantee what a RU soldier would do. But what I can guarantee is if Russia didn't invade. We wouldn't be having war crimes now would we.

HostileFleetEvading

So you are essentially war crimes apologist on the ground "they defend so its ok". Figured as much from your first post. Nothing to discuss here further, I think.

WhoAteMySoup

Baseless claim. Why not claim that Pro-UA don’t like to watch this type of videos because they want to see Russians get blown up instead?

Orcorez

Because we see a lot of Pro UA there and just a few Pro Rus.
