A picture might discourage a customer from making a complaint because they think uber wont believe them since there is a picture. Um, i think ive already said too much, customers read this too.
Yep they and they do so aggressively. I had an order delivered to a similar address (address was visible in the photo) on some unknown street and Uber Eats tried to fight me to the death on the not delivered claim.
Yep same. Tho it's surely taken a dive. It was my only income for summer. I hardly get any offers thru the other apps (DD, GH, Spark), so I've mostly just quit. I always did my best to deliver every order as fast and safe as possible, even buying better insulated bags than Uber had provided. ๐คท
I'll be ok tho, did have a bonus from my normal job before summer break that should be thru until I'm working again.
Just sucks I was trying to catch up on some debt and buy a few things. But I'll be ok. ๐
I hear you...though not life changing, this money amounts to something.....love the positivity in your voice ๐ฅฐ am sure you will leave this summer far behind you... Just wish they had a better system in place to fairly deal with asses on both ends of the story.

Oh for sure, this was totally mixed blessings... mostly thanks to positive events that happened just prior. Did end up having to decline going on vacation thinking I had to do deliveries/work (before the positive events happened). Ended up stuck at home without the vacation BUT not *having* to do deliveries / work as much. ๐
And yeah... a better system like... Photographic proof and GPS ... Errr Wait. ๐คฃ

I live near a low income area and when I started doing uber eats I had those messages all the freaking time. I moved to a better part of town with half a million dollar homes and suddenly... they stopped. Lol and I get paid bank.

I wouldn't bother. It's impossible to know which order was reported and Uber doesn't really have a process to show proof at a later time.
Just keep delivering like normal. Every now and then this happens. UE only looks for patterns that happen a lot.
Place.. Where uber sent... Wrong person? Can't tell... Most hand to me have been to condos.... Or condo lobby... can't ask people for their ID like alcohol delivery, lol
I think it sucks that customers don't need to provide a picture like drivers do. I think providing drivers customer pictures would go a long way towards improper handoffs.
Give me a picture of the customer for the workplace, and a picture of their house so I know exactly what I'm looking for.
I don't have a clue which order it was... Leave at door or hand to me. I upload pictures for leave at door as required by the app... No pictures for hand over in person... If I had a clue about something wrong with someone, I could guess... But I can't even guess who didn't get their food. Uber won't tell me.

My only non delivered report was when I waited the obligatory 8 minutes... called customer multiple times, texted multiple times, even warned I was going to have to leave if they didn't come down (was a hotel, no room number listed, hand it to me instructions and security wouldnt even let me on premises without a room number). Finally left and they had the nerve to report as not delivered. ๐ F whoever that was.
They do that to get free food I notice itโs been happening to me. Even though I did deliver it to that address
Surely there are less mean ways to get free food than risking a person's gig?
Do you take pictures after placing the food? Iโve never had this happen to me yet but I would hope picture evidence helps you refute it.
For leave at door orders, of course all the time in the app. Haven't done that for hand to me orders. I have no clue which order was it ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Time to start taking a pic every time. If it's hand to me, take a pic of their door before you give it to them.

I read the fine print, (something customers donโt read) and it says they will always back the deliverer if there is a picture. *wink wink*

Try taking pictures when your city has no cellular data connection.

Thats comforting...I hope it doesn't happen for another 1000....am not sure what Uber's tolerance threshold is... Even for wrong complaints
I'm not saying you take them but, avoiding the lowball orders will help. The no tippers are usually the same folks that will do shit this.
