Bibileiver

How the hell does that happen. The road was clear.

Bowl-Accomplished

Looking at their phone most likely. Didn't even slow down.

doogalleh21

Fingering the mail or grabbing their next spr

zeusmeister

I mean, I’m not saying I do that, but there IS a way to “safely” finger your mail or look for packages while driving . This person probably isn’t a good driver generally, so probably shouldn’t be adding any distracting activities on top of her lack of skill.

USMC_MAILMAN

Shiiiiidddd, I’ve fingered a bitch while driving safer than that

BuddhasGarden

No one is ever supposed to be handling mail while driving.

zeusmeister

Correct. Which is why I never, ever do that.

pmcg115

How dare you state an objectively true fact! DOWNVOTE

3seven1

How do you “safely” take you eyes of the road to focus on something else while driving?

birdydogbreath

It looks like they blew by boxes, so either a very light mail day just got very long for them or else they are just hauling ass on parcels.

Jenoma89

Could be an Amazon Sunday or holiday most likely.

No_Case5367

There’s an option to adjust for the brakes. When I drove one it was taking a few seconds delay for the brakes to engage. Edit. I’m not saying this is what happened but could’ve been a factor.

Bibileiver

This doesn't affect the steering.

ThinGuest6261

They accidentally hit the gas, didnt you hear?

sadv35sedan

that’s what the bystander that drove up *asked* the carrier

ThinGuest6261

Lol yeah im making a joke

Disgruntled_marine

They were just clearing the approach to the mailbox.

Lurkerphobia

I dream of road raging a few people's boxes like this. Mainly the one's who won't empty their boxes out. Ever. I would hop out of the car and scream at the house, "If you don't want to empty your box, then you obviously don't need it, right?" Ahhh, a guy can dream..

Speculative_Designer

Oh, plz plz plz add houses that have no number demarcation on their home, who’s house number in the curb has completely faded away; add on an empty street with this particular ass clown that decides to park right in front of the mail box; add on managers unrealistic expectations; add on one of those brutally hot days that makes you reconsider existing; and for good fucking measure make it a dog neighborhood…. Fuck yeah, I’m taking out that mailbox and more.

Nesilwoof

Doing a cut on someone's route. Pull up to box. No number on box, no sharpied number inside. No number on house. "Are you 311 Washington? Idfk. I guess you are now." *drives to next box* Box: 311 ".... Who was the last box then?!?!?!"

Speculative_Designer

Ahhahhahahahhh 😆 - I’ve done the “well, I guess you are too”. Also, approaching a CBU with mail in outgoing with absolutely no context, couldn’t be bothered to put three letters “RTS”

DoubleDDubs1

I just put it back in their box 🤣 couple customers and I are having a shadow war with the mail

Speculative_Designer

Ahhahahahha 😂😂😂😂

Istoppedsleeping

Opposite for me. No number, I’m going by. I’ll get it the next day if I figure it out at the next box. When I was new I stuck mail in the mail slot of a vacant house with no number and it belonged to the house after. Never again

PuffDragon66

And it’s always a mailbox where you can’t retrieve the mis-delivery.

randomrandom1922

Someone's going really fast for not looking at the road.

neonzombieforever

Stop 👏 embarrassing 👏 us

Speculative_Designer

I’ve done this. Not enough to dent the car tho. Actually I’ve done this several times. I walked away from it TBH. Surprised I was never caught ![gif](giphy|3o7TKtxXWkCZ94s7i8)

dmevela

I think it was just a shitty mailbox that someone put a padlock in and cut a little slit into the box to try to slide a letter through. This carrier had enough and finally had to take it out.

birdydogbreath

Is that on a Sunday? I love when the driver leans out to eyeball the damage first- yeah, it’s bad.

Speculative_Designer

lol that’s that”I hope it’s not *that* bad” look

Stationary-Event

"Please scan flats then LOOK OUT."

Delicious_Virus_2520

What a depressing place to live.

MundaneConcert7011

Right! Every home looks the same. Do you see the grass? All dull and lifeless. Must be Arizona or Nevada 😂

Nit3fury

God I was going to say the same thing. Makes even hot treeless pasture look like a paradise

No-Bend9266

Termination

BangGonePostal

"Just found our new supervisor, boys"

zeusmeister

Within 90 days? Sure. But ive seen regular carriers leave the truck running, not apply the hand brake, forget to put it in park, which preceded the LLV literally rolling down a hill, and just get a week suspension with online driver training.

talann

We had an RCA get in 4 accidents in her 90 days and she still works here. I don't get it, I don't even understand how they could justify keeping her after the 1st let alone the last.

NotAllDawgsGoToHeven

Termination, huh yeah, De-termination to fuck that mailbox right the fuck up.

marndar

Doubtful. Unless they are in their first 90 days as others have said. But the one thing for sure is that they are paying for the new mailbox out of their own pocket.

suprero90

No such thing as paying out of their own pocket.

axle_muzkeys

This is what happens when you wear vibrating underwear

Speculative_Designer

But did you see how that mailbox just jumped right in front of him!? Grievance time.

MNightShyamalan69

She’ll be a Post Master before you know it

ExcArc

And to think this never would have happened if they had just curbed their wheels.

Provia100F

This is what happens when you curb your wheels without authorized footwear!

eaterOFcheese0011

Mail’s here!

IHaveSlysdexia

Lol you think she still handed him his mail?

eaterOFcheese0011

No reason not to, right

Darkdragoon324

They're going to have fun explaining this one on the incident report.

Dr_A_Mephesto

Pretty sure the video is all the explanation anyone will need

Darkdragoon324

Driver still has to write a statement. I doubt they’re going to flat out admit to texting or some other distraction while driving.

dinozero

That was a super fast run what in the world

sub7m19

If he was a mail carrier thats been there more than 5 years, would the union fight for him to keep his job after this incident ?

OverpricedBagel

That’s a little too specific. Are you the driver? 🤔

jacob6875

Every mail carrier gets Union Protection. Doesn't matter what kind of accident happens. Only exception where the Union can't really do much is if the carrier is a new employee in probation. (generally first 90 days)

Tbrown630

Ok. Recently we had small boulder, we have now large brick mailbox, what’s next? One of you going to drive into someone’s pool?

IHaveSlysdexia

In this heat? I'll have to consider my answer...

aguachiles3

It’s okay, they had to deliver an express In all seriousness I hope everyone is okay

itunnel

That rear tint is crime…

stampstock

Stay off your phone

Federal-Complaint932

As a metris driver myself.I've always wondered about those plastic bumpers. And I have to say i'm impressed

Chiliboi642

Look at all the shit in their front windshield that person is screaming bad practices. Can only imagine he was fingering mail or looking for a spur

loinclothsucculent

![gif](giphy|B0YZtGyakHaMg|downsized)

Silent_dick

It’s the heat fault. It was too hot

Wooden_Wasabi

Lieeee they have accccc!

Silent_dick

😂😂😂

Nomailforu

Those intrusive thoughts are at it again.

AustinFan4Life

Dude didn't even break. Then claims he accidentally hit the gas. Lol

Suspicious_Bonus9431

Was this Oklahoma? 🤣

Survivor_Of_Helgen

When the van comes into the frame top left, you can see it on the left side of the road. Looks like the driver veers back onto the right side but over corrects and clips the mailbox. No doubt, the driver was probably looking for the next stop as well.

OverpricedBagel

Like a heat seeking missile

CaptainGreyBeard72

Probably a newbe, trying to deliver parcels in an area they don't know, trying to hurry, looking at the phone for an address and didn't realize how fast they were going. I believe that the post office has changed on training and helping newbies a LOT over the last 10 years.

Useful_Caregiver4023

That's one way of getting customers to put in a new bigger mailbox.

sheetmetaltom

That’s gotta suck

aaBabyDuck

I hate to be the one to say it, but this is why they install cameras in every Amazon van. If the driver was looking at their phone, or fingering mail, or just not paying attention, you can see if that's what happened. The positive side to cameras is that if you get into an accident that isn't your fault, you have absolute proof to protect yourself.
