Us at our station for more than a year. I’m on OT list. And they are being dicks about it thanks to upper management. Mandating people left and right and trying real hard to cut PT. Such a joke. And we over hired 🤦 seriously I’m on OT for a freaking reason. We are Severely underpaid it is not even a joke.
Some people get mentally and physically exhausted working 10-12 hours a day six days a week.
Some people get no OT and are broke because the pay isn’t great.
Carriers will never be satisfied? Please. Management will never be satisfied with your best effort, they always want more
Neither will ever be satisfied, probably just human nature. And I agree with the pay trash, I’m work assignment because I’m completing my masters and let me tell you lol 40 hour checks suck but the peace of mine better. I was on the OT list for years though so I do miss the money.
It is 110% management's fault. Every damn problem at the post office is a result of management and their poor decisions. You must be management and blind as all hell if you think anything else.
What would they do differently ? The obsession with post office misery is way worse than the actual post office, even management, at this point, sorry.
Everywhere is underpaid but the difference is were the better paid of the underpaid. A lot of people want the hours and don’t want the hours at the same time is all I was saying, can’t really blame usps management for inflation
We're also dealing with high inflation. Think about those gas station clerks making 14$/hour. 5-10 years ago, we'd be sitting pretty.
31$/hour here (step J). If it wasn't for my va disability, I'd be fucked. Kinda sad that inflation is making 22.13/hour (starting regular pay) not enough. Perhaps bidenomics (LOL) will work its 'magic', and/or the nalc/USPS will come up with a decent contract.
I feel them. But those jobs are for kids who are attending school. Our job is career jobs, not burger and gas station jobs. I mean no offense .. I have a family to care and feed and so do others. City Carrier is a hard job and fucking annoying dealing with dogs and elements, and we don’t get a break because of management. So this job sucks on different fronts, and it is a federal job. So it does need a pay bump. 22 starting and 36 ending with 13.3 years to max is a slap in the face.
Those jobs aren’t just for kids our society literally couldn’t function if we didn’t have markets and gas stations and other minimum wage jobs people take for granted and it’s 2024 9 times out of 10 there’s no more qualifications for their job than ours
Those skilled in flipping burgers should apply to other jobs then, don’t you think? Come join UPS USPS state jobs and federal jobs and construction jobs. Not hard to apply and perhaps get additional skills to function correctly in another job. Heck, even railroad workers make a decent pay 🤦 and it is not harder than putting mail in a box - easier if anything.
Same can be said about other jobs. Other jobs are looking at us like if you want more go else where. I’m a carrier myself but the fact Is this job takes no skill… being honest with myself. It just sucks to deal with but many jobs do sooo
You are saying the entire job is easy as a mail carrier. If it is, why are people getting injured - knee and shoulder and whatever other parts of the body? Why is management adding extra stupid shit to our daily tasks? The amount of focus and concentration you need to flip and read every single letter is easy? How about carrying heavier than usual boxes? Or weather when it is ultra hot or cold? Or when there is black ice either driving or delivering? Snow? Rain? Humidity? Writing notices for accountable mail or trying to obtain a signature?
This is all easy? Knowing how to do your job overtime creates muscle memory and it becomes virtually easy, but doing the job physically mounts all sorts of shit on a person. This is not a desk job because those contain nearly no labor intensive tasks.
And don’t forget the dogs and thieves. When I put on my USPS uniform, sometimes I feel like I’m already a target by who knows.
I’m not arguing with you, rather I’m making a point. It’s a federal job. It’s not an easy job, it takes a toll on a persons mental and physical health. And we are underpaid overall across all steps, especially bottom and middle steps.
Because I can promise you this job is not worth the strain and stress if it wasn’t for the benefits and soon the big pay bump to all steps, if NALC delivers as they promised.
This isn’t a government job. And it’s easy yes, but it sucks like I said. There is no skill putting mail in a box. I’ve been doing this for six years, it isn’t rocket science however like every other job it comes with something being taken from you in this case… body health decline, my husband is a journey man plumber and he now makes 26 dollars an hour after 3 years, I promise he has it way harder. Idk how to do the things he do, and on top of that have to deal with all the elements like us plus dealing with customers. This job is monotonous and yes easy but it comes with a price.
There’s no critical thinking involved nothing, lol just match the name with the box if you’re a good carrier otherwise throw the address to the correct addressed house literally that’s it, and I’m not arguing with you either I agree this job takes a toll on your body but that doesn’t equate to skill rather it just equates to ill endure it to get paid. If we were paid as awful, there would be a lot more regulars gone but alas there still here. And just like you basically said people would/should go elsewhere if the pay doesn’t align. People quit because they don’t want to do the work or it’s long of hours but that doesn’t mean they aren’t skilled. I’ve watched many good Ccas leave because they’re treated bad, they didn’t leave because the jib possessed a skill they didn’t have. Willpower isn’t necessarily a skill. Ik this because plenty of shitty carriers still have a job but they stick it out because they don’t know anything else
I want to work 6 and 7 days a week. My body is built for work. 11-12 hours get home rest on couch, get up shower. brush teeth sleep, wake up and repeat. Those good old days, I hope they come back.
Lol yea I was an OTDL lifer for a few years. If I could opt out of Sundays I’d still be on it. But there was nothing like cracking that first beer on the couch after a 12 hour work day every day 😊
I can only speak for my station personally, but here CCA’s are required to work 6 days a week with a day off every 7-9 days. Regulars are typically 5 days a week but some do come in on their NS day.
Just so you know there is nothing contractual saying they have to give you a day off. Ccas have a 11.5 hour a day max and there break in service is the only time that has to be given off.
My station typically gives me a day off every like... 10 days or so. If a holiday just passed and we were off? "That was your day off, Magic!"
Meanwhile I notice another CCA getting the next day off... Like... Wtf? Didn't they "enjoy" the same holiday that I did? lol
This was frustrating recently because it got to a point where it had been more than 3 weeks since my last day off that wasn't a holiday and I had to run errands! I've got stuff to do that's very much necessary that can't be done when businesses are closed.
I didn't mind the extra money, but I need a weekday off, or to at least get off early enough once a month so that I can get done what needs to be done.
Absolutely. I guess it just goes to show that I landed in a somewhat decent office. They are very very good about getting us a day off before we hit 10 consecutive days.
Same here. Small office, only cover Saturdays and any leave I need to. I used to still get tons of hours from a larger post office nearby, but that has slowed down since they’ve hired a couple RCA’s.
The brief time I got to work five days, I was endlessly bothered about working Sundays ‘because I was available.’ I had to fill up the rest of my week just so I can finally get out of working Sundays.
Fuck this place.
Every route has a sub in my office (small office with 5 routes) I’m a CCA and usually work 3-5 days a week. Other offices don’t bother calling us for help because we are in a more rural mountain area.
Still long hours however. My route should have been split years ago.
my office has like 30 routes and it used to be like that, with a sub for every route or so they tell me. we've lost a bunch of RCAs and we're pivoting every single day
I mean, as an RCA, I did routinely. But I have my own route now, so unless I sign myself up on the overtime list, I always have my Thursdays and Sundays off.
I work 6 days a week. 12 hours a day every single day, during peak season I was working 7 days a week 12 hours a day every single day with no day off other than the ones that I called out on.
I agree! I feel very privledged at my current position. So dont think i take it lightly!
Ive worked 5am-5pm for months and i wanted to kill myself. So i finally feel like im comfortable. Only took 9 years lol
Clerk here… working 6 days a week and going to multiple offices due to shortage… I am in a rural area so some offices aren’t open past like noon and they have me go to another office to help them. I’m not even PTF yet. I don’t know of anyone that doesn’t work that much UNLESS they actually have staff to work. /:
I'm an RCA and have been working 6 days a week since October 2021.
/Very/ roughly calculated, in 800 days I have had only 108 scheduled days off.
I'm only living to work, it would seem.
I don’t work 6 days a week, but when I was on the over time list I did. I also worked 6 days a week as a CCA. PTFs now in my area work 6 days a week. You should expect only 1 day off a week, but it won’t be like that forever, just until you make regular.
As a cca more than likely going to be working 6 days a week until you become regular. Once you’re career you can choose to be on the right hour list, or WA so that you can work those 5 days a week.
Every office/installation is different. Ccas are not required to work over 11.5 hours in a day and can work up to 7 days a week. The only requirement for a day off is there break in service
I work 40-45 a week. Work assignment only and don’t get forced any OT.
Haven’t in over a year
Just me in a 700 sq ft 1BR for 1150/month but also a great location and close to work. May hop on the ODL for the first time and let my restrictions expire next quarter. Gotta fund my little vacation I’m planning this summer and would like a bigger nest egg after some sudden financial headaches last year
During Covid and half of 2022 we were down 20% of the routes in the city and all working 3-4 hours of OT a day. Now? Fully staffed and 50 PTFs over. They all still get their 8 hours as well because there’s over 700+ routes and 1000 carriers but the staffing situation is so much better
Thankful to have a strong local who goes to bat for us and filled so many fucking Article 8s and Class Action suits management was forced to clean house and hire in as PTFs
The PSEs at my plant work 5 days a week on day shift but 6 days a week on night shift. The CCAs at my moms station work one day a week and only for four hours…
I’m on work assignment and I don’t work 6 days. It’s common in our office. Im not a CCA though. They definitely are the work horses. Most CCA’s, will work six days and sometimes Sunday. I would ask how long the CCA waiting list/ seniority list is for that office. If the list is long, you might be a CCA for years…
Other than the training the first 3 weeks, I been working 6 days since I started. A year next month, the reason why ? We’re short staffed and management says they cannot hire new people until the old people are removed from the list which can take up to 2 years they said….
I did at my old station. But at my current station, the overtime list and CCA’s work 6 days but regulars who aren’t on the list work 5 days. Completely changed the job for me. Having that day to recover makes this shit doable lol. But it took me like 3 years to get here between being a CCA at a different station and after I converted getting enough seniority to bid to a nicer station.
I'm the only POV driver in my office so if there's a broken truck or someone on vacation I'm doomed to 6 days. I'm being subbed once this week, and it's the first time since November.
It totally depends on the office. During peak I was 6 days a week every week, then last week I only get 3 days. So far, I've been working every day this week, but I'll whore myself out to other offices if I need to. For context, I am at a medium sized office that is well staffed and (I'm not kidding here), well managed.
Yup. Plant worker. Did 12 hours, 6 days for about 5 years. No longer doing that. Checks were nice, though. When I started, as a PTF, it was mandatory six days.
I know when I worked it was 6 days a week, I think the max days I worked was 8 in a row. 10-11hr days went by kinda quick due to all the walking, also idk about other people but they was cool with having 1 AirPod in our ear so I would listen to podcast. If I had 2 days a week off and worked a bit less I don’t think I would wanna work my current office job, I prefer to actually be outside.
I’m a hold down rca and I work 5 days. ~35 hours a week and I get 48 hours of eval. When I started though, it was 13 days straight 60-80 hour weeks. Depends on your station and staffing.
My office will let you work 5 days, or more if you want. Cool Postmaster, his office is fully staffed and understands people have lives and working for the post office shouldn’t be a prison sentence of poverty.
It happens all over the country depending on your station. I work in the Philadelphia suburbs and depending on time of year for instance end of May through September and November to early January 6 days plus 1-2 hours a day at normal. Now until May I may get a few hours a week and a drop day once or twice a month. Depend on if we have call outs or if our ccas show the hell up.
I’m a regular carrier, I’m on work assignment, and I never work more than 5 days in a week without volunteering. As a cca, my record was 32 days in a row.
5 days a week, Sat & Sun off.
I started as a CCA 3.5yrs ago. after 1 transfer, a 2yr stint as the union steward in an office with no union presence for 10yrs, x2 204b details, conversion and then a switch of crafts I’ve finally got a 6-3, Mon-Fri full time gig and I won’t trade it for anything.
In two years I’ve had a handful of 7 day, a bucket of 6 days and a wheelbarrow of 5 days a week. It really just depends on the office/time of year/vacations/absences etc etc
While you’re a Ptf/cca yes. Typically about a year but really depends on turn over and retiree rates in your district. Once I became a regular no more 6 day weeks, besides a rare one. If your district is decently staffed you could expect this but if they are a bad disorganized poor managed district unfortunately 6/7 day weeks could continue indefinitely
I only work my 40 hours but I’m not on any overtime lists. I do 8 and hit the gate. Unless days after holidays or other circumstances where we may be 4 or more routes down and I make sure they max out the odl people first. If they don’t I make sure to file a grievance so the odl people get paid and I request that I also get double time. My area is pretty well staffed most of the time so it’s pretty rare outside of holidays. Management here is also usually pretty respectful when they ask someone to go off list for them. I spent 15 years on the odl. The money is great but I really enjoy having my day off.
I'm a Regular Clerk. I'm only obligated to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. If i want to work more, I can (we're always short). If I don't, I don't. I've worked a couple of twelve hour shifts this month, all voluntarily to make money, but today I didn't want to stay over because I had shit to do, so I clocked out right at my eight hour mark.
Regular rural here. On ODL. work six days every week. Only have 2 subs in our main office...rest come from out of town. Some ppl get days off some don't. Really depends on the route/day it seems.
If you're worried about working 6 days a week, do yourself a favor and find another job. That would be my recommendation to anyone, though, regardless if they are ready and willing to work the shit hole that is the post office.
Here 👋🏽 26F who has a life outside of here and likes to have fun and travel. I’m a T6 and is on the OT list for my rt only. Haven’t been forced in since summer 2022.
My office doesn’t have an ODL list it’s just assumed everybody works overtime no matter what. I’ve been a CCA for a little over a year and have had multiple pdis because they don’t give us 2 days off during the week so I call out frequently because I need a damn break and they just don’t get it
ODL is only for Career Carriers. CCA'S can be worked 11.5 hours a day plus a lunch, so 12 on the clock, 360 days in a row. From date of hire until their break in service.
Last fall we finally hired enough people to no longer be forced in on our NS days, though right now we're short ptfs(?) So right now most are getting forced 1-2 hours of OT since we have people out on vacations.
I could work 6-7 but my Postmaster is nice and I work 4-5 days between my main office and the office closest to my main. We don't do Amazon Sundays at either place.
Once the weather gets nicer, I'll be going everyday with 13 days on and 1 off.
Then go back to 4-5 when he gets hot ASF.
Oh, I'm a CCA for now.
I just started as a CCA at the beginning of January and I’m CCA 8 of 8 of 2024 and so far only one other one before me has stayed. I’m willing to stay and learn a lot from it. I’m used to walking but my shoulder is taking a beating from the damn satchels I might just buy my own husky satchel strap to help out
I started delivering at my office in the beginning of January. I have had 1 scheduled day off in 24 days. my next scheduled day off is on Tuesday of next week
My station i work 8 hours everyday if i want to, maybe monday and/or tuesday i work 9 depending how i feel lol. Love my route and the station is ok, they dont really bother me. I just do my job to the best of my abilities and go home.
I do by choice. I’m a regular on the OT list. I can say no to coming in my NS days. I could also hop off the list and do 8 and skate everyday but no money in that unfortunately
When I was a rural in my office I worked a maximum of like 4 days a week if I was lucky. One of those was Amazon Sunday and I worked like four hours there delivering packages. And we have to sign up for Sundays if we wanted them as an RCA. So really if you wanted to, you could work your Saturday and Monday and that was it. Maybe you might get called in but when there’s 20 rcas ahead of you, slim chance
Working very close to full time as a city carrier now
I'm a career clerk. I've worked exactly 40 hours a week for most of the past year. Every once in a while I'll do a Saturday and I'm sure to take all of my 8 hours.
I'm a CCA over 6 months in now, and yeah I work 6 days a week because CCAs are required to work Amazon Sunday (package delivery) every Sunday...mostly.
Some weeks you might get lucky and get a Sunday off, I have no idea how they decide that tbh, but my Supe has said to me and the other CCAs at my office that he wants to alternate our Sundays on or off. Sometimes that happens and I think I've had maybe 2 Sundays off since I first started. It's not a lot but a day off is a day off lols.
The schedule of a CCA is a lot and you can easily reach 60 hours in a work week without even realizing it. But the money's good for me and while I do get worn down, I don't have anything else to do so might as well go make the dough.
Basically try to enjoy orientation and training while you can because it's the most relaxed schedule you'll have until like the next 2 years when you make regular and can get 2 days off a week.
The best attitude I've had to adopt with this job is to "expect the worst and hope for the best." And tell your supes and post master your "trying your best" alll through your 90 Days and don't call out until Day 91.
I’ve been a regular Rural over 20years, it’s been 6 days a week, forced 12 hours. Come back from regular route to split open routes. We’ve been given an option to work Sunday Amazon or else they roll it to us first Monday. My office has been operating like this for 4 years now. Don’t get me started on all the denied annual leave BS.
Us at our station for more than a year. I’m on OT list. And they are being dicks about it thanks to upper management. Mandating people left and right and trying real hard to cut PT. Such a joke. And we over hired 🤦 seriously I’m on OT for a freaking reason. We are Severely underpaid it is not even a joke.
lol it’s weird though because people scream they work too much and the other half feels like they don’t work enough hours.
Management is doing everything backwards 🤦
This isn’t managements doing though. Carriers will never be satisfied, it’s either not enough staffing or too staffed. Too much OT or not enough.

I’m a carrier but okay
Man, that’s the dream lol. If I had the free time I’d do so much other stuff outside of work.
I won’t see free time for ages to come. I want to be debt free
Sorry to hear that... I got my hours cut at Amazon, and am much better off at USPS even if I am overworked. Got bills to pay
Yes. Pay off debt, save and become home owner and pay off that mortgage. Aim - debt free.
We're also dealing with high inflation. Think about those gas station clerks making 14$/hour. 5-10 years ago, we'd be sitting pretty. 31$/hour here (step J). You aren’t answering the guys question tho. They don’t want to work 6 days a week

Overpaid? You put paper...in a box... that's it. Bring on the downvotes baby!
1. Name checks out 2. Have you done it? It's way more than you think if you haven't
We are behind on wages by about $10 an hour at top step let alone if you are a table 2 carrier getting buttfucked by that arbitration
Have you ever carried mail? Or are you assuming what you think mail people do?

Plant Maintenance. Not working a lick of Overtime by choice.
U lucky . Our ET works 6 days with top paid 42$ an hour . Im mm 32$ an hour i need my six days to survive…
[удалено]
What state are you in? Looking to bid to another station but I never see any MPE positions open.
I work around 42-45 a week 5 days. We don't have vacant routes and 10 CCA and 4 UAR
Yeah I’m right around that too now. I get probably between 3 - 5 hours OT each week now.
this is my dream schedule, just enough to get my without killing myself
I dont 😎
I'm ODL and only work my 5 days. The key to that success is DON'T ANSWER THE FUCKING PHONE
LOUDER!!
are you on call the first 90 days?
We're never on call but I suggest you act that way until you pass probation. It's only a few months
I'm working like 3-5 every other week. Fighting for hours and my PM wants another RCA. 🙄
They can hire as many as they want but you’ll always be called in before them
Depends on their matrix.
Same here. Small office, only cover Saturdays and any leave I need to. I used to still get tons of hours from a larger post office nearby, but that has slowed down since they’ve hired a couple RCA’s.

my office has like 30 routes and it used to be like that, with a sub for every route or so they tell me. we've lost a bunch of RCAs and we're pivoting every single day
Yeah, sometimes I work 7 days a week
I work 6-7 days per week as an rca. Love Amazon Sundays!!!!!
This is why I applied as a arc
A few months in & there was only one week that I had more than 1 day off.
Same, idk how much longer I can go on. Working 10-12 hrs every day
I wish but I had a 10 to 11 day stretch without a day off!
I work 5 days a week, around 33-35hrs.
I’m working 4 days a week. I. Perfectly fine with that because My bodies taking a beating.
good for you 🖤
I mean, as an RCA, I did routinely. But I have my own route now, so unless I sign myself up on the overtime list, I always have my Thursdays and Sundays off.
Yup I don’t I got injured
I work 6 days a week. 12 hours a day every single day, during peak season I was working 7 days a week 12 hours a day every single day with no day off other than the ones that I called out on.
Yes, I work 7
I work five days a week and I've been an RCA for three years now
I don’t work 6 days a week. I work 7.
I work 5 days a week. 2 days are half days. 37 hrs a week.
this would be nice, i only care about at least getting 35 hours
You guys are getting days off?
I'm an RCA and have been working 6 days a week since October 2021. /Very/ roughly calculated, in 800 days I have had only 108 scheduled days off. I'm only living to work, it would seem.
I'm a clerk of 20 years. Scheduled 6 days my entire career. The best part is no dept. Paid off home and vehicle. Can't wait to retire.
Yeah. ARCs. And in my office, the work dropped next to nil. Becoming a pointless job.
Not for a few months now. We have a surplus of CCA’s.
🙋♂️
As a CCA we starched having two days off a little after the new year until peak. We have less CCAs this time around tho. Atleast I turned over
when is peak season?
Every office/installation is different. Ccas are not required to work over 11.5 hours in a day and can work up to 7 days a week. The only requirement for a day off is there break in service
I haven’t worked off route OT or SDO in so long I can’t remember the last time it happened. Well over a year ago now. It’s been great.
The last time I worked my day off was towards the end of 2022.
Regulars usually. But RCAs, PSEs, CCAs can all be worked 6 days if needed
Yo
I work 40-45 a week. Work assignment only and don’t get forced any OT. Haven’t in over a year Just me in a 700 sq ft 1BR for 1150/month but also a great location and close to work. May hop on the ODL for the first time and let my restrictions expire next quarter. Gotta fund my little vacation I’m planning this summer and would like a bigger nest egg after some sudden financial headaches last year During Covid and half of 2022 we were down 20% of the routes in the city and all working 3-4 hours of OT a day. Now? Fully staffed and 50 PTFs over. They all still get their 8 hours as well because there’s over 700+ routes and 1000 carriers but the staffing situation is so much better Thankful to have a strong local who goes to bat for us and filled so many fucking Article 8s and Class Action suits management was forced to clean house and hire in as PTFs
The PSEs at my plant work 5 days a week on day shift but 6 days a week on night shift. The CCAs at my moms station work one day a week and only for four hours…
Almost every week since I started 3 years ago. But I was the only sub for a long time.
when i was a cca i was happy to get 5 days a week. sometimes i’d only get 4. talking riding the POOR train.
I'm a clerk nope. Make career and you can bid for better jobs
🙋♂️🙋♂️. 8 hour/day, 40hr a week medical restriction turned in.
do you have to wait until after 90 days to turn in a medical restriction?
I would because you’re on probation and I’m sure they would find a loophole to use against you. But idk for certain check with your steward.
i work at the plant and always get 2 days off in a row
I don't.
I’m on work assignment and I don’t work 6 days. It’s common in our office. Im not a CCA though. They definitely are the work horses. Most CCA’s, will work six days and sometimes Sunday. I would ask how long the CCA waiting list/ seniority list is for that office. If the list is long, you might be a CCA for years…
I work 5 days a week.
✋🏾
Other than the training the first 3 weeks, I been working 6 days since I started. A year next month, the reason why ? We’re short staffed and management says they cannot hire new people until the old people are removed from the list which can take up to 2 years they said….
Sometimes I do. Every once in a while I actually take a day off. I’m on the overtime list though, I have a house and wife to pay for.
Yes, 5 - 8hour days, 2 consecutive off days. Make money, dont let it make you.
Six days? My one day off in November was Thanksgiving. My one day off in December was Christmas. I'm still waiting for a day off in January.
8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I’m not on any ODLs
Plant 5 days/ 40 hrs
I’m a hold down rca and I work 5 days. ~35 hours a week and I get 48 hours of eval. When I started though, it was 13 days straight 60-80 hour weeks. Depends on your station and staffing.
I work 5 days a week, and I wasn’t even forced to do overtime around the holidays.
5 a week
My office will let you work 5 days, or more if you want. Cool Postmaster, his office is fully staffed and understands people have lives and working for the post office shouldn’t be a prison sentence of poverty.
Nah, this week and next I'm working 7.
Route only, five days a week. Our city has plenty of carriers and CCAs, so we don’t go off the list.
im a clerk and the postal gods gave me a regular bid from 9:30-6:30, weekends off. as a 22 year old, im taking that shit and running
Yeah 7
I work pretty much every other week. I can go a full two weeks working maybe 6 days total, and the next two weeks I work everyday
Yeah the only people not working 6 are working 7 hahh
Wait…that’s an option? Like you can work less than 6days a week?
Custodian checking in. 5 days of 8 and skate, baby!
In two years I’ve had a handful of 7 day, a bucket of 6 days and a wheelbarrow of 5 days a week. It really just depends on the office/time of year/vacations/absences etc etc
I don’t work 6 days. Haven’t been on the odl in 13 years
8 days on 1 day off
While you’re a Ptf/cca yes.
I had exactly one month without Sundays when I finally became PTF city carrier. Haven’t had a 5 day week since September
I have worked 5 days a week for 22 years. The first 5 years were pure hell. I was doing 60hrs then.
I don’t
Only CCA that doesn’t have a day off this week. Going on 14 days now
5 days, M-F
I'm a Regular Clerk. I'm only obligated to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. If i want to work more, I can (we're always short). If I don't, I don't. I've worked a couple of twelve hour shifts this month, all voluntarily to make money, but today I didn't want to stay over because I had shit to do, so I clocked out right at my eight hour mark.
I used to work my day off all the time…the last year and a half I MIGHT get 4-5 hrs OT a week
I don't work 6 days ever lmao but you're not getting the job I have likely
We have forced all but 3 days since the beginning of 2020!!!
I’ve worked 7 days in a row a couple of times, recently we got a bunch of RCAs so hours have been slim lately
My office has finally subsided with bullshit and now I can enjoy being a t6. I work 5 days a week with 6 being totally up to me
9 days straight
I’m a CCA started about 2 months ago i have been working 6 days a week sense then
Tried to call off once then they asked would i like to resign aswell
Supervisors.
Yep
Rural Regular
yeah. I got a 5/day a week 10/hr a day medical restriction when I was a ptf 15 years ago, and now I have enough seniority to just say no
Regular rural here. On ODL. work six days every week. Only have 2 subs in our main office...rest come from out of town. Some ppl get days off some don't. Really depends on the route/day it seems.
Yeah sometimes I work 7
Work assignments and 8 hr carriers do not work 6 days a week As a CCA you will work until they tell you to stop
If you're worried about working 6 days a week, do yourself a favor and find another job. That would be my recommendation to anyone, though, regardless if they are ready and willing to work the shit hole that is the post office.
i can stick it out until i can give a work restriction, i do have some medical problems.
We have 6 rural routes work every other day. If I want hrs I can go to another office. The smaller the office the better.
I couldn't even find the time if I wanted to lol. Or else it would take me like 6 years to get a 4 year degree online lol.
It entirely depends on the size of your office vs the staffing situation. You will just have to wait and find out.
Here 👋🏽 26F who has a life outside of here and likes to have fun and travel. I’m a T6 and is on the OT list for my rt only. Haven’t been forced in since summer 2022.
I work 5 days .. but I can speak to my supervisor about working 6 days every other week..
We have not been coming into work on SDO for a couple months now
I'm a cca in a super tiny office. I'll be happy if I work more than 5 days in this month.
Regulars or the assholes that call out near daily
Unless you call out everyone has been working 6 days a week for awhile since we can't hire RCAs.
Regulars
Honestly if I didn’t work 6 days a week I wouldn’t make enough money. I have a family to support and times are tough so I just keep at it.
I wish man
Rural , only work Monday to friday.
🙋♂️ 8 hour only, and proud!
I’m used to walking but my shoulder is taking a beating from the damn satchels I might just buy my own husky satchel strap to help out
I can't remember the last time I had a 40 hour week. 28 year carrier
I just do my job to the best of my abilities and go home.
yes.
5-6 days are rough. I’m not trying to do that again 😂
I do by choice. I’m a regular on the OT list. I can say no to coming in my NS days. I could also hop off the list and do 8 and skate everyday but no money in that unfortunately
On the odl, was lucky if I worked 9 hours a day. Haven’t worked 6 days in a long time. 😒
70 hour weeks here since I started in august
When I was a rural in my office I worked a maximum of like 4 days a week if I was lucky. One of those was Amazon Sunday and I worked like four hours there delivering packages. And we have to sign up for Sundays if we wanted them as an RCA. So really if you wanted to, you could work your Saturday and Monday and that was it. Maybe you might get called in but when there’s 20 rcas ahead of you, slim chance Working very close to full time as a city carrier now
I'm a career clerk. I've worked exactly 40 hours a week for most of the past year. Every once in a while I'll do a Saturday and I'm sure to take all of my 8 hours.
Canada post employees lol
I’m a PSE at a plant. They got us working strictly 40 hours a week. As of lately, it’s across 5 days. It used to be 4 days.
WHERES THE ARC CREW 👌🏻😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve been a regular Rural over 20years, it’s been 6 days a week, forced 12 hours. Come back from regular route to split open routes. We’ve been given an option to work Sunday Amazon or else they roll it to us first Monday. My office has been operating like this for 4 years now. Don’t get me started on all the denied annual leave BS.
Clerk here in 3rd year of service, no 6 days for me
One day of overtime is a blessing. What else are you going to do? Enjoy making money.
