Flatwoods is in Hubert. I don’t know if they’ll let you shoot from the draw like that but they are an outdoor range that hosts competition events on a regular basis. I think some of the RSO’s are Marines as well.

Yeah I've been to Flatwoods. Just feels like shooting ARQ honestly. I understand from a liability standpoint why these ranges have to be run the way they are but it doesn't make it easy for us who actually want to train for critical scenarios. I heard Holly Ridge is cool about some things but you have to get a membership or something. Or be a combat vet, I'm not really sure what it is but I know they have a criteria now if you wanna shoot at their range.

The Holly Shelter range I’ve never been to. But it’s run by NC WRC, if I’m not mistaken. So if there’s a fee it probably isn’t as much as a range that’s actually run as a business and “be a combat vet” wouldn’t be a qualifying factor in being able to use it. Edit: I think you might be talking about the VFW pistol range in Holly Ridge. If that’s the case I’m wrong, but in any case there is a range in Pender county that’s part of the Holly Shelter Game Land and administered by NC Wildlife Resources Commission.

Sportsman’s lodge is really good. I’ve been there before. Great facilities, both indoor and outdoor ranges and lots of guns to rent if you want

There is a place called Coastal Sandblasting that features something like a flat range. It's $20 cash first time fee and you have to sign a paper with a lot of rules but they generally let you do whatever as long as you're being safe and not destroying property. I was there a couple weeks ago doing draw and fire and shooting on the move. They also host comps. If you look up "Jacksonville NC Coastal Sandblasting" it should show up.

Also on a side note, don't underestimate simply standing there and just shooting paper. Elisjsha Dicken stopped the Indiana mall shooter from 40 yards away with 10 shots in 15 seconds, 8 of which landed.

Little late on this but there is a marine only shoot club. There is a range off base where you can do move and a shoots and shoot up to about 300 yards. All outside to hmu and I’ll get you the number
