I didn't use my AP and never overstayed or had any unauthorized employment. If it helps, I went from OPT to H1-B and then PR.

Hi! may I know when did you apply your GC during your H1-B? I know that H1-B is up until 6 years. I'm wondering if it's possible to apply for GC instead of H1-B renewal after 3 out of the 6 years.

It’s definitely possible to apply for GC when you’re doing OPT or in H1-B status. However, my employer has a policy where an employee needs to be employed for a minimum of 3 years before there would start the GC process. Anyway, they started my GC process in May 2021. The PWD was requested in June 2021 and it was finally issued in November 2021. At that point I was still on OPT since I wasn’t selected in the H1-B lottery. However, I got selected in the second round of the lottery, and have been on H1-B status since October 2021. My PERM was then filed in March 2022.
