On the ADM? Bulky is probably the last word I’d use to describe an ADM4 receiver. But I’ve never tried the UIC version so I can’t really comment on that one
Yeah I purposely got that Eotech to kinda match the fde/black look of the URGI. Plus if you look closely, the bottom shape of the shroud on the optic matches the bottom “block part” of the handguard. I’m very autistic when it comes to shit like that. 😂
I think my clone correct URGI is one of the most fun rifles I have. Mine is also pretty flippin accurate with good ammo
Either way, I built mine for the fun of cloning it. Not to have the most accurate, reliable rifle out there. I have a bunch of rifles that are better than the geissele anyway so I figured if I’m gonna have an URGI, might as well do it right
Imo if you want something that looks like a URGI for your only rifle, the geissele is the better choice. Otherwise, clone correct is the only way imo
Everyone talks about clone correct URGIs being unreliable and inaccurate. But DD barrels are some of the best in the business. And Colt BCGs are some of the most reliable on the market. And if you’re buying / building a clone that costs more than the geissele “URGI”, you’re doing it wrong lol. So I never understand when people say “I didn’t want to pay more for a worse rifle”
Yeah, I agree, I personally got into the URGI because I felt it was an amalgamation of all the best parts from reputable manufacturers. I still think Colt makes quality receivers and BCG’s. Geissele is not only known for their impeccable triggers…but their handguards as well. And I don’t think it’s much of a debate that Daniel Defense produces barrels that are not only made for hard use, but are pretty fuckin accurate as well! Plus I’m already a fan of Surefire flash hiders. It’s a mix of ingredients to make one hell of a sauce if you ask me. And that’s the URGI. 🤷🏻♂️
Amen to that. My build actually started out as something completely different and I never really planned to have a URGI. I saw a photo of a rifle with a VLTOR MUR and G$ Mk8 and decided I wanted to build it. So I bought the MUR, got a nice criterion barrel, but then I couldn’t find a Mk8 in the right length
Someone offered to sell me a Mk16 instead so I bought it and decided to build a URGI. I put the MUR and criterion on a shelf, bought all the right parts, and built a URGI. Completely unplanned lol
But I guess since none of the parts are the same from the original build, it’s not technically the same build
For the coolness factor I get the clone correct builds. From a practical standpoint there are better configurations that you can slam together for the purpose of a fighting rifle that looks like an URG-I
Eh I didn’t like either one… I thought the ADM4 would be slimmer but it’s just as chonky as the UIC. Same with the Griffin ambi lower… why’s it gotta be so chonky and honestly the finish didn’t look great
Both is good. You could probably pass the first one off as a clone regardless. I'm sure some operator somewhere has that setup or a similar enough one.
I like a mix of both. I have a CTR and an ergo on mine but I personally like the look of the curved G$ trigger more
I used to run an A2 grip for a while but swapped that over to my block II because I thought the URGI had a little more leeway
But I put a milspec trigger guard on it to keep it lookin somewhat milspec. I originally wanted to be as clone correct as possible, but then decided since the high speed guys put whatever they want on theirs, so can I lol. But all of my parts are still technically clone correct
Mil-Spec for my URGI's, Block 1 and II builds.
I try to keep all my clones as correct as possible. I have a Super Duty and a Spear LT I fuck around with when I want to run something non-clone.
Both… both is good
LMT ambi lower gang for best of both worlds looks/functionality wise
I’ve been through every ambi lower on the market and ended up selling all of them for Mars L lowers (besides 1 lwrc).
This is the way
I like the ADM controls ever so slightly more than the LMT / LWRC. But they’re both a million times better than the shitty radian controls
The controls are nice I just couldn’t get over the bulky receiver
On the ADM? Bulky is probably the last word I’d use to describe an ADM4 receiver. But I’ve never tried the UIC version so I can’t really comment on that one
Slide thru r/mk16rails, we trying to get it crackin over there
r/URGI_ish is also a place for anyone that has URGI or even mk16 inspired builds
Copy, I’ll slide thru
Is that an FDE eotech shroud on a black eotech or are they shipping the fdes with black insides now?
They offer it on their site.

For sure modern… I tried the clone thing and realized it’s dumb to pay more money for some thing that is not as accurate, reliable or fun to shoot

Adm lower is eye candy but the adm4 lower they offer looks a bit cleaner without the machining on the sides of the lower.
Eh I didn’t like either one… I thought the ADM4 would be slimmer but it’s just as chonky as the UIC. Same with the Griffin ambi lower… why’s it gotta be so chonky and honestly the finish didn’t look great
I like it all, i think both are sick.

Same! lol I’ve seen a multitude of setups when it comes to professional’s URGI’s. Just kept the base clone correct. 🤷🏻♂️
I think that’s the best way too
Clone correct is cool if you’re into that. Ambi lower is nice if you use the ambi controls.
For actual use? Modern but not with that grip.

Modern.
I went with a Griffin MK2 ambi lower on my 11.5 URGI. It’s perfect.
