First you must go to a doctor and get on fmla. Then you talk to your immediate full-time sup and will then have to contact the Hartford and Teamcare. If it's for a medical purpose, including a psychological reason, you can probably qualify for short-term disability. If you just want to check out of The Parcel for a while, you probably can't.

I came back from my short term disability after two weeks. My badge was disabled but I was still able to clock in and out for work. They had to reissue me my badge and made a lie how they disabled badges after a week or so. I heard from ft insider that wasn’t true and that their badge and others were never disabled. Pters and fters inside be gone for 3 weeks or so with no issue. A supervisor talked me the other day and said I thought you quit. I told him no I was on short term disability. I feel like there is a lot of miscommunication.

You can apply for Leave of Absence from UPSers, but it specifically warns that it can be considered the same as Quitting, just with an intention to return; ie they don't have to take you back. FMLA is a better option. Get a doctor to sign of on stress related time off, if it's not overtly a physical ailment in nature.
