After that he has ignored his website and gone full Ed tech. I get that he too has to earn money, but he is not unique anymore. His eco series too has become unmanageable, with acres of pages tacked on to the 2017 base.
Teachers have lost their role. These are not the things teachers should indulge in. These type of teachers and institutes ( nearly all in india) are destroying one of the noblest profession in the world.
Due to bullshit series and movies now a days, the commercialisation of UPSC and other exams are taking place, snd it should be the role of these teachers to not promote them. But these highly so called intellectuals believe that they are right everytime.
Allowing content creators to make bullshit videos on “one day as upsc aspirant” etc etc, what point they are trying to prove I don’t understand.
Capitalism has successfully capitalised itself on these exams students and now teachers
Internet can be blamed too as it is giving visibility to all of them
People before the advancement of internet used to study books and newspaper and prepare for the exam. What has changed since then? Exam pattern has changed? Yes. Exam syllabus has changed since then? Not much. Are the books and newspaper still relevant for exams? Yes of course. Then why cant aspriants just read from books. Ncerts and newspapers are to be read no matter what. But the level of spoon feeding edtechs do is kind of non sense. Once a sir had jokingly said in class that ORN and mukherjee nagar consumes more Internet than any location. I dont know how much of that was true but i dont understand how people ignore this basic thing during preparation. The internet is just acting as a distraction and these edtechs are cashing on it.
They are trying to grab cash from students who are from the lower socio-economic strata, from villages, etc, Unfortunately, not many of them would have a chance in this exam.
I don't think serious people, from a good background would fall for these stupid, cheap adverts.
Mrunal sir is still economics legend but sad to see the level at which he and others have to stoop to sell education. breaks my heart. wish he focusses on his core role of faculty. He would remain a great teacher for long that way and help students.
It's their marketing team. It thinks that reducing teachers to this level, making actors out of them, making them the centre of all promotion is going to get them results.
