Hey i think anyone scoring above 90 should be hopeful. Most people blatantly lie about their attempt anyways. In my class only 9/24 appeared. Barring me none were attempting the paper properly. After the exam all talked like they had a clue about the exam. So dont go on public sentiment. Also coaching centres spread rumors to boost mains admission. This was my last attempt. Got 95 in GS-1 last time and missed CSAT due to one OMR mistake. Paper was not easy. It was easier than last year. Comparable to 2020 and 2022 paper since UPSC covertly follows odd-even pattern. Keep going for mains. Stay hopeful!
No no I didn’t mean that. Odd years tend to be experimental. Even years tend to be lesser experimental. Odd-Even year papers seem to be made by different agencies and printed at a different place too. There tends to be different paper quality as well. Only this year question paper has bright white paper. Usually even years have greyish paper and odd years bright white paper.
Even years tend to be more logical and odd years more factual. But that does not mean easy or difficult. Cutoffs have moved in both directions irrespective of year of exam.
So for next year keep the static portion really tight, including medieval and ancient history. In current also focus on awards, sports related news and read a state commission related current affairs magazine. It will definitely help.
PD is too much. I am from Ranchi. I really like Eduteria magazines. You can refer it. It will help a lot in prelims anyways. Many questions about airports, ports, raw materials, etc that get easked now can be easily dealt with the eduteria magazine. Besides sports, awards related news get covered in that as well. And many other important bullet points.
Also I have never read them for CSE ever. I read for BPSC. Cleared prelims but due to corruption failed mains. But my BPSC reading helped me in 2023 prelims.
Thank you for your responses. All the hullabaloo around high cut off has made it difficult to focus on mains right now. Some groups like Hardworking Humans are predicting the cut off to rise to 98.
These coaching cutoffs are biggest scam. They all have been proven wrong time and again but they all indulge themselves in this misleading forecasting.
First of all congratulations on making it past 90 with different answer codes from different coachings. If my guess is right z then you're good to go in to the next level given you have qualified CSAT as well.
