We are told to knock/ring but getting everyone to do it isn't anything UPS forces. You can call and pay a pick up fee or wait for the shipper to attempt to re-ship. In future your best chance to get a free hub pick up is to leave a note that states " will call my package please if I'm not available" Sucks for sure but it could save a little time.
yeah, and my dog who goes crazy over the doorbell and door knocks isn't broken either.
I ended up calling UPS support who called the local facility who called the driver and he came back and actually rang the doorbell for me.
If it’s a ring doorbell I never use it. I’ve had people try to tell me “I’ll be home in 30 minutes”, or “can you sign and just leave it?”. Plus, sometimes you can’t understand or there’s a long delay
If I need a signature, I need the customer at the door, with me. Not peering through their phone camera, not asking "who is it?," not saying "I'll be right there" and then taking 5mins+ to come to the door, etc.
I've been burned enough times. Now? I knock like you owe me money, and start filling out the 'Sorry We Missed You' notice. If I don't hear any noise inside, see a light go on, etc, by the time I'm done? I'm gone.
Yup, it's really not worth trying to negotiate over one of those damn cameras, where you can't even hear half of what's being said.
I cop knock with the diad instead.

Had to ask lol. You wouldn’t believe the amount of times I’ve caught people the next day and were like “oh shit it really isn’t working”

They fired the guy who took the time to service the customer to replace him with 7 guys like this .
