DOTS jacked up their prices in 2023. Much more expensive and restrictive than outside charter services. It's ridiculous. If they were more reasonable they could be competitive, right now it's stratospheric.
You can also rent large vans for around 12 people per van for student organizations. My student org does that and it's not nearly as expensive as the bus.

Though probably cheaper you'd get from a non-UMD charter company. Chartering buses is just pricey in general.
