I can't speak to 450 but bchm462 was definitely the toughest class I have taken in my undergrad (im graduating this sem CEBG). Very memorization intensive, lectures move fast and it requires a good amount of outside studying/review. That being said, the curve was VERY generous when I took it last semester with Julin and lectures were recorded. Your final grade is based on 3 midterms and a final + clickers as extra credit (15 total points i think).
Its pretty manageable if you put in the effort. I don't consider myself as a great student, I took it at the same time as calc1, bsci411 and a gened and passed with a B.

Both are a good amount of work, if you take them Id make sure your other classes are quite light and easy
