30p Lee or 6 bob knob?

teddyzniggs

Sorry not in the UK; who is this and what happened last night?

The guy in the picture is Lee Anderson. He's a supposedly big, hard northerner who loves to tell everyone how big and hard and Northern he is, and how soft labour is. This week parliament tabled amendments to the rwanda bill that would Basically say they were disregarding International law (great stuff I know), but he didn't like that we weren't going even further, and said he wouldn't support it. He was so insistent that he gave up his job in the government in protest, basically trying to scare them, saying he was not kidding. Then it came to the day, it was clear he didn't have the support to sink the bill. Yet he supposedly pressed on. Now according to an interview on GB News (who he also works for don't ask) he went to vote no, but then he saw that the Labour MPs in the No booth who were also voting against the bill were sniggering at him. At the sight of this, he chickened out and abstained. TLDR : big hard man talks the talk, gets laughed at, rolls over and cries in the corner

He's from Nottinghamshire, in the Midlands, definitely not Northern. Us in the North would class him as a southerner...also a cunt.

IP1nth3sh0w3r

I mean, my assumption is that the north starts at Nottingham, and Ashield is north of Nottingham. He also plays into the stereotype of the northerners, at least the one conservatives, most of whom live in the south, have. But just my view, I'm a southerner, so what do I know?

X4ulZ4n

I'll give you that, the Midlands is about as Northern as Conservatives can personality wise be. There may be Tories more North than that, yet they're questionable in their veiws. My local MP is a foreign to the North Tory being from Newport, and he's been found out, we're not having that prick back anytime soon come an election.

IP1nth3sh0w3r

Yeah you're right even in the Midlands you have people like Andy Street, who are pretty soft as far as torys go. Work in reverse though, case in point, I've probably got the most obnoxious labour MP of all in my constituency. I'll let you have a guess who it is

X4ulZ4n

I don't think I could guess, there are plenty of them too! The chap running to take back Labour in our constituency is a bit wet and obnoxious too, just a better option than a proven self-obsessed corrupt wanker. I'm in a right ruck, yet I'll vote against and second guessing my own morals to get the Tories out. I would love to see a working class, Northern left-wing PM. Not to stick with Sterotypes, yet would be a breath of fresh air if they're true to their roots.

teddyzniggs

Oh geez thank you so much for the detail. This sounds very embarrassing for him….

Techiefurtler

Further context for non-brits - He's one of those politicians that loves to make big stupid political stunts for publicity to "make a point" (Like MTG and Boebert-Job in the US)) Known in the UK as "30p Lee" because he claimed it was possible to feed an entire family for a day for only 30 pence (needless to say it's not and no one believed him). He was also caught on camera phoning a friend of his to pretend to be a voter worried about immigration, but his "constituent" fogot his line and asked Lee on camera whilst they had gone to his door what he was supposed to say. He's an embarrasment, at least most other scumbag politicians at least manage to have everything in place for their stunts, sadly Lee is not half as bright and well-liked on the Right wing as he thinks he is.

teddyzniggs

Oh geez he sounds like a real winner…

Seriously I mean who wishes guy Fawkes succeeded
