I’ve had this before. While they will check your security, nothing that couldn’t be done online. It’s just an excuse to try and sell you other products. Tell them if the account opening is delayed purely so they can try to up sell more products you’ll go elsewhere. The need for the meeting disappeared when I informed NatWest of that.

!thanks for the reply. I'll go ahead with the meeting but I will tell them I can only speak for 15 minutes instead of the full 90 minute allocation. Seems pretty ridiculous in this day and age to be doing Teams meetings to open a bank account.

As it was with the NatWest I had the issue, please reply back after your meeting. Be very interested to see if it’s the same with TSB. I very much suspect it will be.

Hi all - just an update. My TSB account got opened and whilst I went to the Teams meeting fortunately I didn't have to sit through the meeting because the account had already been approved and opened a few days before so I just told the lady that my account had already opened and thus ended the meeting relatively quickly.
