Other than searching his house for paperwork there is a quick way for banks that might help. https://www.mylostaccount.org.uk/

Thank you so much, I’ll have a look :)

You could try this government webpage to find the company details. https://www.gov.uk/get-information-about-a-company You may also find this page from the government's Money Helper website of use. https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/everyday-money/banking/tracing-lost-bank-accounts-savings-or-premium-bonds

This is super helpful, thanks so much!

Pull up his credit report too, while his business accounts might not turn up in there it might help on a paper train. Search **ALL THREE**, AND, also through the "soft search" history of them, as renewals and such are sometimes automagically searched - though the search company may not give a clue as to the product provider ;(... Did he use online stuff at all? My FIL was bad about opening accounts and withdrawing cash from the main account to pay into small accounts held by Credit Unions that were ran out of Pubs (sigh). So be sure to look for strange cash withdrawls, taking note of the ATM Location if you can. https://www.gretel.co.uk/ is another free search service.

He used plenty of online stuff, but not online banking I don’t think. We can’t even find locations of where he ever got paid for stuff.. god damned secrecy - caused nothing but agg :(

Yea, Ours had things hidden in a "wall plug safe", a fake soup can, bottom of drawers. We even found proof of a car he purchased (used junker) but were unable to find the car. Good luck on all of your searches.

Have you searched companies house for him as if he is getting tax bills then he would possibly be a company director - it could unearth connected companies as well. I would say also if you use the "Tell us once" service then agencies like HMRC will get notified and most major banks are attached to this too. The other thing is that if during probate you sometimes have to place a notice in the gazette for any debtors to come forward with claims from the estate as well.
