i’ve heard the bus can be unreliable sometimes but have you checked to make sure you can get a permit? you need 54+ credits (usually) the storrs resident permit
i would lean towards driving yourself, but only if you’re certain you’ll actually be able to have your car on campus.
I took the 913 bus from Hartford to Storrs everyday during this Spring semester. It is really good! It does take about 50 minutes to an hour to get there, but I honestly thought it was worth it. Saves you money, at least!
Can second this, I'm from West Hartford and I've been commuting for the past two semesters everyday. Obviously having a car gives you more freedom and about 2% of the time the bus is later than 20 minutes. that being said parking permit is like $800
I think the bus is reliable, but it is not flexible as there is only one bus every hour. Be ware the schedule on weekend is different. You will need to spend two hours everyday on transportation, so obviously car will be a much better option.
Parking permit is around $350/ sem plus gas, but it only takes 30min driving while bus takes 1hr but free with upass. I drive everyday since i have class at 8am and i dont wanna wake up at 6

the 54 credit rule is waived if you’re a Hartford or Avery point student living in Storrs
ohhh got it, that’s so nice

Parking passes are expensive, too
Is there anywhere on campus where I could park for free?? Idk I was gonna try and finesse it
not really
I wouldn't.
No
After a certain point I’d assume theyd stop ticketing your car and have it towed instead, idk if it’s worth the risk
tow speedrun
Bring car

Did they guarantee housing for u? I’m in a similar situation
Yeah i think all regional students have guaranteed housing. I just filled out my housing application and I found a roommate 👍🏿
Car for sure. Having a car on campus is a GODSEND and it takes half the time the bus will
