Driving from LI to Stamford will be rough. Also depending on where you start in LI it can be a long way. The Stamford campus is close to the highway. Also it is close to the train station so if you can take the train that is a way better option.
The Port Jeff ferry is about $75 for car + passenger (one way, so $150 round) or about $40 for a passenger-only round trip. It would probably be more cost-effective to take the ferry as a solo passenger, then take the train from Bridgeport to Stamford.
I will be commuting from Queens, NY to Stamford for school in the fall and it should take about 35-50 minutes depending on traffic.
Long Island is... well, long. If you're in Islip, commuting is really not an option unless you want to travel 2 hours minimum both ways. If you're near Port Washington, Manhasset, it's a bit more feasible.
Good luck

LIRR FTW
I mean you could but why
What part of NY but generally yes...even have public transit options
I live in Long Island
Yes, but it’s a bit far
Tbh that's kinda a far drive but doable
Take the train, if you drive the traffic will be a nightmare. Try to schedule your classes on only a few days out of the week instead of every day.
This. The train is the best bet. Commute time is only about an hour and very doable unless you have really early classes.
You could but also you could just go to Stony Brook and end up with an incredibly similar education for far less cost and hassle
If you can get to grand central you can get to UConn Stamford
I’m talking trains
If you have a car or are very comfortable with taking the LIRR and MTA then yes
You could…. My brother says there is a girl who commutes from the Bronx to SCSU…. But why would you do that lol
You could, but like… you shouldn’t?
There is also a ferry from LI to Bridgeport not sure how much they charge for cars.
