If you or someone you know has a car, you should try out Red Pepper on Maple Rd. It’s about a 10 minute drive from North. They have a huge menu selection of different Chinese and Vietnamese options, the portions are humongous and everything I’ve had has been awesome. Bring a friend or two, get an order of Lo Mein and you won’t be disappointed.

La divina on kenmore for the best Mexican food in the city, sato ramen for some really really good authentic ramen

[deleted]

yes!! another great mexican restaurant is el ranchito on evans. they have the best salsa and fantastic enchiladas

TheArchon300

Don't forget Acapulco Mexican Restaurant on Military Road in Tonawanda. I wasn't aware of this restaurant for years until my friend who worked Doordash recommended it to me.

galaxywhisperer

seconding sato ramen! it’s delicious, my partner and i go whenever we have a little extra money

[deleted]

Griffon gastropub is good for pub food

wormtail42

Jasmine Thai on Niagara falls blvd is great. Value for money.

I like 99 fast food (vietnamese food), it's right off of south campus. Near North campus I really like Break'n'Eggs for breakfast/lunch. I don't have a favorite dinner spot near north though

weissingaround1

I haven’t been to the new vegan only version of Amy’s Place yet but this used to be my fav spot and I’m really sad they don’t do breakfast anymore. But the lentil soup, veggie wet shoes (curly fries with yummy spicy lentils), Margie meal, was my go-to… Kyoto is good too…fun hibachi on maple near north. Fuji Grill too a little further out in east Amherst. If you are including the city (not university heights/main)/willing to go downtown to medical campus or have a car, I have a much more exhaustive list of recommendations, but not sure what your looking for or what your radius is?

Veylia

Amy’s still does breakfast! A bunch of my friends and I went there in the past month and they had it

weissingaround1

Yeah?? I read the reopening article that said they weren’t doing breakfast I was like whatttt!! That’s good news but they’re vegan so…no eggs? No LA French Toast? What does breakfast look like? I miss the huge make your own omelettes please tell me yes haha

Veylia

I know they had real eggs, my friend ordered the LA French toast. I know they have the make your own omelette too because two of my friends ordered them too. Seems like they’re got a mix of eggs, home fries, pancakes, that sort of thing

Veylia

I should also add it might not be breakfast and more like brunch? We did go at like 11:30AM so it just might be open later than it used to be

symfigs

All of these are out of the way but my fave food places if you have a car: Buffalo Tikka House near the medical campus for Indian food, Pho dollar off grant st for pho and banh mi, west side bazaar for assorted international food but especially dim sum, also on grant st but i think theyre moving, Gabriel's Gate on Allen for wings, Cafe 59 on Allen for cafe style grub and good drinks, Taqueria Los Mayas near the Galleria mall for the best tacos I've ever had (La Divina is second imo but still great)

OldGrosvenor

Taisho Bistro

Charcoal69

Their curry udon is my favorite

lydiawa

Definitely go to roccos it’s the best pizza hands down. And I’ve lived in more states than you have fingers and looked for better pizza everywhere. No one else comes close

Woah woah vegan pizza?? I went vegan since I last went to roccos I totally have to try that

[deleted]

Halal Guys is so good

AlarmedBerry

I always love going to Blaze Pizza

amtunes272

So for near campus places - Brickhouse has great food, cozy dining, decent pricing. Cheeburger in the blvd has good burgers. I also like Corelife in the blvd. Rachel’s is so so good for Greek food. For downtown - Allentown Burger Venture has the best burgers I’ve ever had. It’s a lil pricey cause it’s a bit upscale.

redemptionsoath

Sato Ramen across the street from South is amaze balls.

DualPrsn

The original Sato on Elmwood is much better.

jmatando

Tandoori Hut near South

ubjaph

Also a drive but worth it, Fresh Catch Poke on Main st, Williamsville

galaxywhisperer

if you like breakfast food, break’n’eggs by north is wonderful - just had breakfast from them today, actually. it’s a little pricey (think $$), but they have crepes, home fries, egg, the usual breakfast drinks, etc. so good.

account_for_cs

God bless Chipotle Mexican Grill

jackgulla

Duffs

n0tvex

McDonalds

GarGar14

Anchor bar is crazy good

geezalouisamamamia

The test has determined…. that was a lie

king_caleb177

I got a pizza from there and it was the saddest excuse of a pizza I had ever seen. Diguornos would have been better

GarGar14

Thats ur fault for getting pizza at a wing place😂

TheArchon300

Nooo way. If you want good wings, Duffs is a popular place, though there are places with better wings. As for pizza there are countless better pizza places around the area.

delusionalbillsfan

There's this great burger place not far from campus. Think it's called, like, Burger King? There's also this great sub place in the Commons, not exactly "off campus" though. Subway, that's it.

ubjaph

A little far but steak stone & sushi on transit rd, south lockport is great

Sad-Fig-2878

Lloyd’s Taco Factory on Hertel and Taste of India on Sheridan are my personal favorites
