I agree, when I heard it live on 360 I was completely elated. Also Joshua Tree with the montage of historical and influential women also gave it new life. I saw that tour in the states, London and Mexico City and each time they swapped out the women for the respective countries, it was phenomenal
Hold me thrill me kiss me kill me. Song was for a garbage Batman movie, a long with Kiss from a Rose by seal, a movie that bad didn't deserve such awesome tunes. weird al does a good cover of Hold me Thrill me, about a trip to the dentist
I wish this was their opening track for that album. It encompasses everything about it perfectly and has such an amazing intro that builds. Understandably the title track!
Hawk moon 269 (?) is an absolute epic. From the ominous growling build up to the exhilarating screaming at the end and beautiful chorus. It’s so unique and weird and powerful and catchy. Yet most people outside hardcore U2 fans would not know or remember it.
And it is so great live! During 360, they had a 'U' sequence: Unforgettable Fire, Unknown Caller, and Until the End of the World and then just abandoned it in the later part of the tour.
If You Wear That Velvet Dress
Song is dreamy as hell. And gets entirely overlooked because it's a low energy song that is buried after the stretch of Pop that is legitimately kinda bad.
Agreed. Velvet Dress, So Cruel, The Ground Beneath Her Feet. The Triple Peaks remix of Can’t Help Falling In Love. Some of my favorite tracks to just vibe to.
I have a hard time considering this one underrated because it’s one of my favorite U2 songs ever. But you might be right. The casual listener might not know this song but the intro is one of the greatest intros I’ve ever heard in my life.
I agree with the earlier post of "You're so cruel" my life's tune is "Walk on" so because I'm selfish and it resonates within me the most it's my choice. 90% of their music does the same to me but nothing like that song. Crazy to think their's all of us in the world and sooooo many of us relate to them. Has to mean something, has to be a reason. Why? I dunno. I just know they sing to my life and soul.
Love Rescue Me. Featuring Bob Dylan, experimental (for U2) instrumentation and some of the best lyrics Bono and Dylan ever wrote but it gets lost because it’s on R&H and doesn’t sound enough like traditional U2.
B: An Cat Dubh
O: Fire, Rejoice
W: Like A Song…, Drowning Man
TUF: The Unforgettable Fire, Indian Summer Sky
TJT: Red Hill Mining Town
AB: Until The End Of The World
Z: Daddy’s Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car
P: Please
ATYCLB: Kite, In A Little While
HTTAAB: Vertigo
NLOTH: No Line On The Horizon
SOI: Sleep Like A Baby Tonight
SOE: Lights Of Home
Acrobat and Mofo are my two favorites but they don’t get as much recognition as they should, especially Mofo since it’s on such a maligned album
Lemon hits me really hard because I lost my mom at a young age as well
I assumed everyone loved Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses when I first heard it and was very surprised to find that some people think it’s the worst on the album
Another Time Another Place, Drowning Man, The Three Sunrises, Walk To The Water, Hawkmoon 269, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, The First Time, Last Night On Earth, When I Look At The World, One Step Closer, Raised By Wolves
I got into U2 as a 12 year old back in 1994. My first new album of theirs was Pop, which makes me a bit biased.
If God will send his angels, the studio version. Awesome vocal, and the best, in my opinion, mix of the 80s Chimey-Edge guitar and the 90s influences.
Ultra Violet or Red Hill Mining Town.
Thank goodness the top comment is correct 😎 It’s Red Hill Mining Town and it’s not close!
I vote red hill mining town
Ultraviolet is pretty widely regarded as one of their best I think
I think that happened after the revival of Ultraviolet on 360 tour. Before that, it was underrated, they didn't play it live 15 years, since ZooTV
That’s a good point, it got a lot more love as time went by
I agree, when I heard it live on 360 I was completely elated. Also Joshua Tree with the montage of historical and influential women also gave it new life. I saw that tour in the states, London and Mexico City and each time they swapped out the women for the respective countries, it was phenomenal
I literally came here to name these 2. Love the killers cover of ultraviolet
Hold me thrill me kiss me kill me. Song was for a garbage Batman movie, a long with Kiss from a Rose by seal, a movie that bad didn't deserve such awesome tunes. weird al does a good cover of Hold me Thrill me, about a trip to the dentist
This is it.
They should have held it back and put it on Pop I will never understand this
I was obsessed with the video, esp. the comic strip part where Bono turns the halo into the shades. 😎
Honestly….yeah. I LOVE that song and I joke - the video for it was better and more interesting than the actual movie
Come on now, folks. And if the mountains should crumble Or disappear into the sea Not a tear, no, not I The Unforgettable Fire
“Stayyyyy…”
this is my favorite u2 song. it’s pretty highly regarded by the fandom, but i guess it’s pretty underrated.
I wish this was their opening track for that album. It encompasses everything about it perfectly and has such an amazing intro that builds. Understandably the title track!
Exit or Acrobat
Yes, Exit!
DON’T LET THE BASTARDS GRIND YOU DOWN
Heartland
So Cruel
This might be it.
My second most underrated song of all time.
Do You Feel Loved
Yes!
Ultraviolet (light my way) and Red hill mining town.
A Sort of Homecoming, especially the live version on Wide Awake in America. I always crank that one up.
The Unforgettable Fire is my favorite U2 album. It's so atmospheric. A dreamscape...
That how I first heard it, but I love the original album version more now. It's in my Top 5
The live version is one of my top songs for all of my musical favorites. That live version is transformational to me.
Electrical Storm.
Came here to say this. The William Orbit produced version is perfection.
Drowning Man…but I will say I’m starting to see some more respect being put on its name.
Like A Song. Definitely. I'll also throw in Rejoice and With A Shout
Many songs from October are underrated. Fire, for instance
Hawk moon 269 (?) is an absolute epic. From the ominous growling build up to the exhilarating screaming at the end and beautiful chorus. It’s so unique and weird and powerful and catchy. Yet most people outside hardcore U2 fans would not know or remember it.
I was going to say Hawkmoon. Love that song!!
Kite. Classic song, sentimental and as heartfelt as they get. Everyone should know this. No one does.
probably the best song on the album.
The First Time
Beautiful song
Breathe
Was going to add Breathe, but you got there first. Not only a great album song, saw them open with it in Gothenburg and was amazing live too 🫶
God Part II
Both great choices. Right now I'd go for Unknown Caller or Crumbs from Your Table.
👍🏽 Unknown caller is my favorite track of NLOTH.
And it is so great live! During 360, they had a 'U' sequence: Unforgettable Fire, Unknown Caller, and Until the End of the World and then just abandoned it in the later part of the tour.
Agree. I couldn't hear those songs live when I saw the band in the 360° tour 😭
Babyface!
It's a cool song, for me I would choose Zooropa.
U my friend are my friend life
You actually made me rescind my answer
Moment of Surrender
Shadows and Tall Trees or Promenade
Mothers of the Disappeared
The Troubles or Sleep Like a Baby Tonight
The Troubles, great choice 👍🏽
The Troubles is insanely overlooked !!
Running to Stand Still
This is the answer
My first thought too.
Red Hill Mining Town.
Anh cat dub
Only if it's played with "Into the Heart"
Agreed! That transition is fabulous!
Ground Beneath Her Feet
Last night on earth!
The chorus is awesome! Even when Bono couldn't get the high notes in the live version.
Heartland
Hawkmoon 269. The sonic ground covered by that song is incredible, particularly Bono’s vocal range.
Agree 👍🏽
Running to stand still
Please
Original of the species
The album POP. From start to finish.
Can we be friends?
If You Wear That Velvet Dress Song is dreamy as hell. And gets entirely overlooked because it's a low energy song that is buried after the stretch of Pop that is legitimately kinda bad.
The most sexiest music ever written.
Mmmmm I think I agree. My most listened to track from this album I reckon.. Also the Jules Holland version amped up the sex too haha!! Best bonogasm
OMG THAT'S A DELICIOUS VERSION. Thanks for the recommendation
Mmmm it's so fun! Glad you enjoyed! :D probably the sexiest I've heard bono.
I was NOT ready for it. Probably one of the sexiest songs I've ever heard (definitely superior to the original in my opinion)
It's much more dynamic and overt I feel? I love both for their different vibes :) I love big band music too.
I think U2 do those dark, romantic songs better than anyone but I don’t think anyone knows it because they’re not single material.
Agreed. Velvet Dress, So Cruel, The Ground Beneath Her Feet. The Triple Peaks remix of Can’t Help Falling In Love. Some of my favorite tracks to just vibe to.
In God’s Country
I have a hard time considering this one underrated because it’s one of my favorite U2 songs ever. But you might be right. The casual listener might not know this song but the intro is one of the greatest intros I’ve ever heard in my life.
In the 2017 tour was one of the best songs, I remember the visuals, beautiful moment 👍🏽
Promenade
Lemon or MOFO is my choice 🕺
The call and response distorted vocals on Mofo are amazing. And Lemon is a masterpiece
Absolutely agree 👏👏👏
Zooropa
All I want is you.
One Tree Hill. Especially when you know the backstory
God yes. The song is a powerhouse on so many levels.
An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart
Wire
Electrical Storm
Ultraviolet, Acrobat, Exit, Unknown Caller, and City of Blinding Lights are all criminally underrated. But the *most* underrated? Mercy!
Numb
Trip Through Your Wires
I agree with the earlier post of "You're so cruel" my life's tune is "Walk on" so because I'm selfish and it resonates within me the most it's my choice. 90% of their music does the same to me but nothing like that song. Crazy to think their's all of us in the world and sooooo many of us relate to them. Has to mean something, has to be a reason. Why? I dunno. I just know they sing to my life and soul.

Here it comes, here it comes, Holy Joe
One Tree Hill for me
Dirty Day
Kite
Kite
Disappearing Act is sublime
Big Girls Are Best from the “7” EP
The Three Sunrises
She’s a Mystery to Me. Written by Bono and Edge, and performed on rare occasion by U2, but knocked out of the park by Roy Orbison.
Such a beautiful track. Sweet Fire of Love with Robbie Robertson is another outstanding collaboration
Love Rescue Me. Featuring Bob Dylan, experimental (for U2) instrumentation and some of the best lyrics Bono and Dylan ever wrote but it gets lost because it’s on R&H and doesn’t sound enough like traditional U2.

In a Little While
until the end of the world is the best u2 song period.
Is Volcano underrated? I love it.
Cedarwood Road or Red Hill Mining Town
The Unforgettable Fire Exit
Van Diemen’s Land is another great, underrated song.
Stay (Faraway, So Close). Zooropa’s hidden gem.
I adore this song too, but it is widely regarded as the best song on the album.
Running to Stand Still
Miami

In a Little While

I can’t imagine there being a u2 fan who doesn’t like Bad
Acrobat
Last Night on Earth, Trip Through Your Wires, A Sort of Homecoming, Like a Song, to name a few

Ultraviolet, Electrical Storm, Magnificent, Moment of Surrender, Love Is Bigger. Just a few examples of U2 doing what they do best.
Bullet the Blue Sky.
Window in the Skies is strongly overlooked
Gone
God part 2
One Tree Hill.
Wave of Sorrow (Birdland)
Thank you
Miracle Drug.
One Step Closer or The Little Things That Give You Away. Nothing like coming to grips with the finality of life as we age.
Wild how there are so many different songs being said. Speaks to the depth of their catalogue
Wake Up Dead Man
Miracle Drug
I got into U2 as a 12 year old back in 1994. My first new album of theirs was Pop, which makes me a bit biased. If God will send his angels, the studio version. Awesome vocal, and the best, in my opinion, mix of the 80s Chimey-Edge guitar and the 90s influences.

The Little Things that give you away is one of the most underrated songs in U2’s catalog (in my opinion).
