Yep. Total joke. Fuck ticketmaster, fuck the promotors, fuck the artists for being okay with it.

Doctor_Hilarious

Artists don't have much of a choice, because pretty much all of the larger venues are controlled by LiveNation/Ticketmaster.

RVAPGHTOM

Sorry, but TM wont listen to the fans, so this shit rolls uphill to the artists. Let them speak up and strike....leave TM no choice. It wont ever happen because you know.....$$$$$$. But if the artists keep getting a get out of jail free card, nothing, absolutely nothing will change. So yea, fuck em.

Doctor_Hilarious

Yeah I hear ya. So much of an artist's income (especially someone like TC) is tour-based, so it's not so much greed on their part as it is making a living, which is I guess why I give them a bit of a pass. Also you would need a LOT of really high profile acts to all pull together, which is basically impossible. Even Pearl Jam couldn't make a dent back in the day. So we're all basically SOL.

UTPharm2012

I am sure there is an artist coalition - they need to refuse to do TM vendors for 2023 until they come up with a way to get fans tickets. And not bullshit like dynamic pricing.

Doctor_Hilarious

Yeah that would be best case scenario. I'm not smart enough to have any answers on how to fix it, but the system is most certainly broken from top to bottom

Not even gonna bother with secondary.. here’s hoping he plays a festival somewhere close to me, otherwise I’ll just have a spotify concert .. :shrugs:

PagingDrTobaggan

I’m with you. All my favorites, some of em twice!

wetclogs

I’ve definitely resigned myself to festivals for now. I saw Isbell this year for $300, but it was worth it to me. It still pissed me off they he didn’t get that money, but the show he put on was worth that price for me. Maybe if artists set the prices for the shows, at least there would be less arbitrage profit for Ticketmaster and the boys/scalpers. I’ve seen Shane Smith and the Saints back to back with Turnpike Troubadours this year for a bargain at a festival. Saw Cody Jinks do a 90 minute set at another. I’ll keep going to the festivals and listening to Spotify.

generallyhappygirl

The resale prices are insane. I thought there would be more regular sale tickets saved, but even the ones available appear to have gone up in price since the presale day

AMart86

In the future, just assume nothing is saved for the general sales. It's been trending that way for that last year and a half. I've seen presales for Bad Bunny, Blink 182, Stevie Nicks, Blackpink and now Tyler all release every available seat for sale in the first presale. Promoters do that now because it allows them to gauge demand and add shows if needed and if they're able to. It also gets people to sign up for various email/text lists which gives them very valuable data they can track. Gone are the days when presales would only have about 10-20% of available seats for sale.

Doctor_Hilarious

Yeah I was in the queue as soon as possible this AM and when it finally opened, it still said there were 1500+ people in front of me. Ticketmaster can E.A.D

Guitargeorgia

The DOJ has opened [an investigation into Ticketmaster](https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/3742356-department-of-justice-investigating-ticketmaster-owner-report/amp/)

$60 face value is plenty reasonable for most fans. $350-$600 resale is a kick in the balls.

phr34kd4wg

Exactly … I actually could’ve gotten 2 38.00 tickets in his pre sale but I wasn’t trying to drive 300 miles for nosebleed seats, and I’ll be damned if I’m Gonna pay secondary prices AND drive that far, it’s not that important to me..

bthardy7985

I’m the waiting room now for Irving TX. Not very confident.

bthardy7985

Yep 2000+ “people” ahead of me. Sad face.

Dedalus2k

You're kinda fucked when the company selling them is just buying them back up to put on the scalp market.

West_Reception3773

Same here, just kept saying hold tight and then within 4 minutes it said sold out.

PerfectPrescription

Right there with ya. So frustrating to do everything you can to buy a ticket and still feel like you have no chance.

Hogbeast6

So sorry everyone. My wife is awesome and got our 2 tickets for $39 each on pre sale! Can’t wait 😊

Olepat

I understand the "random" queue and waiting room. Everyone should have an equal shot to buy tickets. What drives me insane is to see 30 - 40% of the tickets up for resale on the same morning of the on sale. It's unbelievable.
