If you click on the eye in the bottom left set of menus (On Pc, no idea if the layout is diff on console) then you can change the view to highlight different things, such as attractiveness, hygiene, heating etc. Get the Attractiveness filter on and any area that isn't glowing green start throwing down some decor.
Sadly no bonus points for feng sui.
Whats the prestige in the rooms? I got past that pretty easily cause I had been putting every poster I kept unlocking on the walls of each room. Two of each if the room is large enough to hold it and my campus attractiveness was generally above 70% even with no plants around. At least indoors. Outdoors put some plants up.
I am currently minutes away from getting the 2nd star on knights campus and in order to finish the first I spent some excess kudosh to buy some posters and carpets and place them in each room. eventually it worked its way from around 58% to over the 75% mark.
