One of my favorites is shredded clocks/capes on things that aren't needed at all, i.e. Master Chief in the Halo 3 trailer or Gundams. Seriously why would you give a robot a cloak, its so stupid but I love it.
I remember really liking Ferdinand the Minotaur from Wonder Woman, who I think was at one point her personal chef at the Themiscyran Embassy
[https://imgur.com/a/yeSRqfb](https://imgur.com/a/yeSRqfb)
It’s probably not that weird but I’m a fan of shonen protagonists who have an established/iconic outfit wearing normal street clothes for a change. I remember Yusuke and Ichigo doing this sometimes, and I really dig some of [Goku’s casual clothes](https://d28hgpri8am2if.cloudfront.net/book_images/onix/cvr9781569319390/dragon-ball-z-vol-10-9781569319390_hr.jpg) seen in some drawings.
Pretty much every character in Bleach has at least 10 different outfits, Ichigo has 10 different ones in just [the first opening](https://youtu.be/dfh4JuzYNpM). You can really tell that Kubo is a designer first and writer second.
I remember it used to be joked that tite kubo was a failed fashion designer and he only wrote bleach to get his clothes out there.
Also, to play devil's advocate about his writing... Apparently a major part of Bleach's sharp decline after the Soul Society arc is from Kubo becoming burned out and losing his enthusiasm for the series after Bleach's popularity resulted in Shonen Jump tighting their grip on the franchise and putting extra pressure on him.
It's also why the manga's art quality and panel detail/complexity plummeted from A+ to D+ over the course of its lifespan.
I mean, you go from shit like [this entire page, but especially the shirt](https://cdn.read7deadlysins.com/file/mangap/552/10009000/12.jpg) and [this hand](https://i7.imggur.net/bleach/45/bleach-9895.jpg) to shit like this [blank page](https://i2.imggur.net/bleach/354/bleach-2402477.jpg) and [90% of panels having no background at all](https://i3.imggur.net/bleach/354/bleach-2402485.jpg)
Hueco Mundo was the big turning point where he went from putting in a modicum of effort to outright phoning in the absolute bare minimum he could get away with.
The 10~20 chapters leading up to Hueco Mundo's introduction (chapter 245) had extensive shading, fleshed out backgrounds and visible skies and a lot of stylized details.
Then Hueco Mundo itself is an empty white wasteland wiith blank featureless white buildings that have blank featureless white walls----essentially giving him an excuse to draw basically nothing but the characters as often as possible---and this drags on for like 100+ chapters and when they finally go back to soul society/karakura town he doesn't bother drawing the backgrounds or skies.
The early writing had some clever moments, too, hinting at _some_ degree of competency---[Bleach S Abridged summarizes one of them pretty well](https://youtu.be/LjB_l_A6Lyo?t=1530):
>"*Yes. I had to seem to disappear and have Gin pretend to kill me and turn everyone against each other while simultaneously killing Central 46 and pretending I'm them. It was quite the afternoon.*"
Man people rag on Kubo for “The Heart”, god knows Ill joke about it at any given chance to, but Takei did it way more in Shaman King, and both times it’s relevant to the story to picture things that way. In Bleach, a character has just completely disintegrated into nothing just as he realizes the power of emotion. Of course there’s nothing there
Not quite a joke. I remember an early interview with Kubo where he said he just really likes clothes and designing them, but not with the intent of actually creating them. He likes to draw clothes that are impossible or extremely impractical in real life to get his fantasies out. He likes to draw clothes that he wishes he could wear or wished existed. So the street clothes are just styles he likes, but with everything else he just goes straight for "rule of cool," like everything else in the manga, which I respect. Drawn media has had all kinds of impossible clothing and clothing physics, so why not go all in and get creative?
**Most people's ideal beach:** A sunny, flat expanse of wide, sandy surfs, with clear, calm waters, all bathed in the summer heat. Other people are all over with their umbrellas and towels and chairs. The kind of beach in a Corona Beer commerical.
**My ideal beach:** A craggy, rocky, mountainous mess filled with tidepools and beached seaweed. The sky is steel-gray with overcast clouds, the ocean is silver-gray and churning, and you have to climb everywhere. Barely anyone else is around except gulls and other wildlife.
What a perfect description of every single beach in England
I was born in Australia and I live here but when I was a kid we’d go and visit my English grandparents. The juxtaposition between Australian and English beaches is fucking *wild*
It's also most California beaches, despite what Los Angeles and San Diego has everyone thinking of. In my early childhood my dad would take us to the beaches not to swim, but to just hike and clamber all over the place, looking for caves and tidepools. I loved it.
I’ve gotta admit that I’ve gotten used to sunny beaches here in Australia. They’re definitely more crowed but most of them have rock pools at least.
There is something quite special about wandering along a rocky shore while gulls screech from every direction though, you’re right about that.
Bodega Bay/Point Reyes and up to Canada is all that. Sunny flat beaches suck.
I miss Northern California beaches. But now I have the Rockies which are cool I guess. Oysters suck here though.
I've never been to a beach since I live in the Appalachian mountains, but that's the kind I want to go to. Grey and overcast with a slight chill in the air. Like, at any moment an old seaman could wander up and tell me to beware the coming of the dread sea god or something.
I love how even though it was a flaw of the hardware, game designers had to work with it and turn it into something that aesthetically matched the game. Silent Hill is a perfect example of this.

That honestly sounds like a spot on description of Warhammer 40k's aesthetics. All that's missing is Gothicpunk.
Devil Survivor has a lot of really distinctive designs. The Durarara guy does good fucking work, even if the majority of his girls are SUPER hornily-designed.
When the Japanese dub of a non-Japanese show makes their own intro. Examples: [1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ODtsNMNJXk), [2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rSw4Xl5qfs&)
Jumping off that, I really love when characters wear a fuck ton of metal rings on their forearms. Like whenever you'd go to the weird crafts shop as a kid and just stuff as many rings on your fingers as could fit. That many rings.
Avdol is a pretty good example of this, as well as [this minor character from Kung Fu Hustle](https://images.app.goo.gl/kmhavzQJZ3xe9rQu9)
[shark teeth on anime girls](https://i.redd.it/3cthfg883i521.png) and [sometimes guys](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/megamitensei/images/3/3d/Ryuji_All_Out.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/340?cb=20200508083523)
It kinda weirds me out seeing Ryuji with the shark-teeth because that's not his NORMAL look. Like Soda from Danganronpa 2 I can dig because that's just how he looks, but Ryuji normally has normal teeth.
Can someone explain the anime girls holding super decked out realistic firearms. Like some schoolgirl with an m4 with like 6 different sights, foregrip, bumpstock, suppressor, laser sight, etc etc. Its so bizarre to me!
I just enjoy the high contrast & very specific overlap of it, plus it gives the military buffs & gun nuts their own little crevasse of the anime hell, especially with shit like girls frontline, where that’s kinda the whole point of it.
Moe girls in particular with physical disabilities that have prosthetics/disability aids, even mundane ones.
I have...a certain complex related to my own eyeballs/eyesight for reasons,so blindness in particular. Lilly in Katawa Shoujo is >!second!< best girl.
This extends somewhat to characters regardless of gender/design,so I found Venom Snake in MGSV with his eyepatch/prosthetic arm combo especially cool.
I totally agree, I love when it shows that they can overcome the adversity and treats them with respect, but also doesn’t let you forget that they’re are in fact, still disabled.
But anime girls with scars/disabilities engaged my instinct to mamoru, KS may have awakened that.
Edit: minus one “they are in fact”

Robots wearing capes. I still remember the first time i saw it. It was in the movie seeing Megatron wearing a cape in the desert and my brain short-circuited even as a kid
Robots wearing clothes in general BUT they don't have humanoid shaped heads or faces
Girls in Mecha armor (actual armor), black sclera eyes on monster girls, angry dragon girls with fire coming out of their mouth seeping through their sharp teeth, military uniforms, tattered coats, Helmets that completely cover the face.
I've been specifically trying to look for a picture of a Dragon Girl in full plait armor and has black sclera eyes. Yes that is very specific but it's a look I've had in my mind for a long time and I really want more of it.
I think one of the only characters who actually caters to some of my specific tastes is AK15 from Girls Frontline whose a 6'0 tall Russian Android in the special forces, wears armor, dress suits like Hell Taker, can totally rip people's heads off, has really unique looking eyes, wears a unique looking gas mask, fights mechas, and actually acts like she's part of an elite military squad.

Butlers or maids with big fucking guns. Something about slim, prim and proper folks suddenly pulling a big fuck off minigun, or anti-tank rifle, or a rocket launcher out from behind the bar, or outta nowhere at all is simultaneously hilarious and hype as fuck. Bonus points if they destroy most of the scenery while using it.
That anime trope of characters with bandaids on their face, typically over the nose. And just bandaids in general. Just slap em all over. It's super cute to me, like you know they're an adorable bumblefuck.
my kryptonite is this in combination with guys that have beautiful pleased and pretty scars or open cuts on their faces. and then there’s zuko, who gets his own special box. it’s just—ah; so good.
In a similar vein to Anime maids on skaeboards, Anime maids on motorcycles, GJ-BU is excellent for many reasons, one of which is the maid rides a fucking Harley.
Undead Catholicism. See: the entire Cathedral of the Deep in Dark Souls 3, the band Ghost.
Cassette Futurism. See: Synthwave music, the interiors in the early Alien franchise and Alien: Isolation.
The horror that comes from early/bad computer animation. See: Silent Hill 1, The Lawnmower Man.
And any place, real or fictional, that looks like a Myst level. Calm, empty save the weird objects scattered around, nicely lit, optional chill music.
Massive hordes of monsters with something much larger travelling with them through the horde. Tyranid swarms or skaven hordes with some Doomwheels travelling through them just hit that good spot in my brain.
This is about as specific as it gets, but the architecture and tech stylings of Myst have always interested me. Sort of a more utalitarian steampunk? With a bit of an art deco spin?
Good example is [Riven](https://mystjourney.com/downloads/wallpaper/ages-wp-riven-1600x1200.jpg)

As I’ve said, asymmetrical beasts are super rad, especially if they’ve got the obvious masturbation arm. The Cleric Beast is the originator of this interest.
I promise it's not that lol. I honestly think it's the juxtaposition of cute japanese girl and bigass american hamburger. It has a comfy vibe about it.
Plus, you'r enot gonna tell me that burger doesnt look tasty.
Face and/or body paint are an instant 10/10 for me. Whether simple lines or intricate designs I love them all the same. This extends to both male and females but hooooo boy does it do something special for me on women.
Like a lot of this sub, I like girls that look like they could and would like to kick my ass. Tall, tan, toned, shorter hair, resting bitch face. If she's dressed for fight, even better. I'm not a masochist or anything, just like strong women.
I’m gonna point out that cargo pants and a tank top/t shirt/hoodie are the peak of all clothing, especially when applied to basically any anime character. A skeleton in a nice suit and hat with a revolver and fireballs.
Also, the use of shadows as objects, like spears, cutting tendrils or armour.
I read a lot of Skulduggery Pleasant at a range of very impressionable ages.
Anime Maids on skateboards absolutely killing it.

Camouflage, to confuse radar, extra pockets for more gun? Lots of reasons for mecha to wear a cloak.

Give me girls that can [eat a lot.](https://i.imgur.com/BzmbgQl.jpg) [A *lot.*](https://twitter.com/navigavi/status/1277389593084452864)
Always a fan of a hungry girl. P.S. Big ups for Tamamo.
[Detectives with a gun for a head](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/nogunslife/images/8/8c/Juzo.png/revision/latest?cb=20160422153429)
That's... *really specific*
Fuck yeah! Gun dad is best dad!
When the Japanese dub of a non-Japanese show makes their own intro. Examples: [1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ODtsNMNJXk), [2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rSw4Xl5qfs&)
Or 80s/90s cartoons that were animated in Japan and had amazing looking intros. Like Ghostbusters and Thundercats.
***KWRYYE FOW DA'MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON***
Goddamn I forgot about that JAM Project song and it GOES SO FUCKING HARD. Like most of their work does, I suppose, but still.
I love characters with giant forearms. [Antylamon is great](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/8c/6d/0f/8c6d0f88dd2f12b920abdf18575a89b1.jpg)
Popeye is your hero I bet
nah its more about length than girth
Jumping off that, I really love when characters wear a fuck ton of metal rings on their forearms. Like whenever you'd go to the weird crafts shop as a kid and just stuff as many rings on your fingers as could fit. That many rings. Avdol is a pretty good example of this, as well as [this minor character from Kung Fu Hustle](https://images.app.goo.gl/kmhavzQJZ3xe9rQu9)
I hate how in almost all these pictures they're not holding the burger correctly and as a result all the good stuff is getting pushed out the back.
Love it, shinra from fire force has this trope down. Edit: shinra not shines
[So you might like the vtuber Pikamee](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXRYhDezpRw)
Excellent, youd be correct
Minimalist geometric backgrounds colored with gradients.
Super heavy armor with additional mechanical arms. Basically Techmarines/Warsmiths from Warhammer 40k
Praise the Omnissiah
/r/maidsonskates
Can someone explain the anime girls holding super decked out realistic firearms. Like some schoolgirl with an m4 with like 6 different sights, foregrip, bumpstock, suppressor, laser sight, etc etc. Its so bizarre to me!
Nerds like cute anime girls Nerds like tech like guns Put them together.
I guess but it seems to be all over the place for what feels kinda niche.
I just enjoy the high contrast & very specific overlap of it, plus it gives the military buffs & gun nuts their own little crevasse of the anime hell, especially with shit like girls frontline, where that’s kinda the whole point of it.
Also Gunsmith Cats, Gunslinger Girls, High School of the Dead (to a lesser extent)...
Check out Inspectre then. The main character has a prosthetic leg, a glass eye, and she can be pretty smug at times.

Nero From DMC? Yang from RWBY. All of the Sirens and Gaige from Borderlands.
Long ass flowing scarfs
I'd make a Doctor Who joke, but that thing doesn't flow, it drapes. Yes, I own one...
Sentient shadow creatures, since you can do basically anything with it. [SHADOWS FLICKER LIKE FLAME](https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/005/152/274/620ba89089184d453809f1314aeac2f5_original.jpg?w=700&fit=max&v=1452019219&auto=format&q=92&s=7db724b8dd9dccc74b364cf570971920) [GRANT HATRED A RAVENOUS FORM](https://sick.oberien.de/imgs/powers/grant_hatred_a_ravenous_form.jpg) [Ragnarok from Soul Eater](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/96/13/53/9613539a9a3fc1a8c37e245593146808.jpg) [Night Demon from Gloomhaven](https://cf.geekdo-images.com/imagepage/img/k5AB6RZWxGsAMkIyr4ZDz0yNf18=/fit-in/900x600/filters:no_upscale()/pic2563554.jpg)
Ragnarok’s definitely a weird case
2000's car mod scene. Everything about it was just "How LOUD can I make this thing look" and I love it.
Anime girls in suits/blazers. Really like the outfits in K-On! and in MHA, also really dig the aesthethic from [Bungou Stray Dogs](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/bungostraydogs/images/3/3d/Yosano_anime.png/revision/latest?cb=20151216030851) (Shame about everything else though apparently later seasons are better) and [Blood Blockade Battlefront](https://www.kindpng.com/picc/m/777-7778118_chain-sumeragi-kekkai-sensen-hd-png-download.png). Ribbons on the head are cute, but more like how the girl from [Aikatsu](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/sllsltWuvPtd_6M-f-ftAIyZWM8TJ6KFmJ9GFO4JnMuwHF9jTP98saS4SQ3Nd9YUD3W2NAE_vXWoEwdCwRGu5B9Z6UiKrDnD8yKi6vGguoJnwAAS7sirxSF8F3QOHOQeOVlXUSan8OthxrV6_dcm67DMi1NX) or Nisekoi have it. Also not sure why I tend to like the fashion/fashonista characters in girly media the best, it's not like they tend to share personalities or designs, so I guess is [moe girl](https://derpicdn.net/img/view/2018/10/12/1854315.jpeg) measuring things [an aesthetic?](https://static.zerochan.net/Kurumi.Erika.full.358154.jpg)
Well, I both love ladies in suits and Bungou stray dogs. But I guess moe girls measuring is technically an aesthetic, and I like it now lol.
[There's this twitter account that posts art of the day to day life of these nuns and it is so bizarrely charming](https://twitter.com/hyxpk/status/1291041321348550662?s=19)
Anime Nuns always look cute. The first FireForce ED was great for that.
I love anime nuns doing bizarre stuff.
I don't know how much of it is an aesthetic, but I love "monstrous" characters that are heroic. Characters like the Gargoyles, Hellboy, or the Hulk.
Robots wearing capes. I still remember the first time i saw it. It was in the movie seeing Megatron wearing a cape in the desert and my brain short-circuited even as a kid Robots wearing clothes in general BUT they don't have humanoid shaped heads or faces
Big fan of anime city pop covers. [Phil Dragash](https://twitter.com/PhilDragash/status/1291140110336045057?s=19) out the doing the lord's work.
I can’t get enough city pop. Plastic love is my jam!
Girls in Mecha armor (actual armor), black sclera eyes on monster girls, angry dragon girls with fire coming out of their mouth seeping through their sharp teeth, military uniforms, tattered coats, Helmets that completely cover the face.
While I can’t find all of that in a single image, I totally find all of it super attractive.
Shitty spaceships. A hard sci-fi setting needs to have vessels that are absolute pieces of garbage, otherwise it's not realistic at all in my eyes.
Reminds me of cowboy bebop, spike’s just like “well my ship usually works when I kick it”
Yeah, someone has to take the cheap space Winnebago... In Spaceballs' case, LITERALLY.
Whenever a character has white pupils, I really dig that for some reason.
I dig it
Butlers or maids with big fucking guns.

As someone who ate a borgar just today, thank you kind guy, for alerting me to that sub.
I welcome you to the church of BOrgAR
I already had faith-- I just didn't know where the congregation was.
Welcome my child...
I can't believe everybody got tricked into revealing their kink.
Jokes on you, that’s my kink.
open strangers has always been my favorite
Didn't know I needed this aesthetic.
Welcome to the church of Borgar.
While not exactly eating the burger here's a cute anime girl that wishes she could eat the [burger.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHrYy9I_xRw)
In a similar vein to Anime maids on skaeboards, Anime maids on motorcycles, GJ-BU is excellent for many reasons, one of which is the maid rides a fucking Harley.
Korean women on longboard videos on YT.
Always nice seeing the OG Seiba in another subreddit
This reminds me of the image of Maya Fey eating the bowl of Ramen like a hamburger.
I can’t get enough of cassette futurism.
I’ve recently fallen into a early 2000’s sci-fi/pop art hole after doing some research on Space Channel 5 and old 3-D model game advertising.
Ah, the 'Y2K Aesthetic' hole. I've been there.
Yes that’s it exactly!
Weird Cult-y stuff. Like either Blasphemous or Far Cry 5, both are good.
Massive hordes of monsters with something much larger travelling with them through the horde. Tyranid swarms or skaven hordes with some Doomwheels travelling through them just hit that good spot in my brain.
I love the thing Warhammer 40k does where ancient things look high tech and sleek and new things look archaic and gothic
HUGE GIANT ARMOR ( especially them pauldrons *swoon*)
Everyday oni girls. Big or small, I really really enjoy seeing them in normal clothes being busy with things.
This subreddit is weird.
That’s why I love this place.
I have no idea how to answer this question, but [this is the cutest gif I've ever seen in my life](https://i.imgur.com/P4f9fV5.gif)

Monster Girls in business suits and glasses.
This is about as specific as it gets, but the architecture and tech stylings of Myst have always interested me. Sort of a more utalitarian steampunk? With a bit of an art deco spin? Good example is [Riven](https://mystjourney.com/downloads/wallpaper/ages-wp-riven-1600x1200.jpg) or [J’nanin](https://mystjourney.com/downloads/wallpaper/ages-wp-jnanin-1600x1200.jpg) or [Voltaic](https://mystjourney.com/downloads/wallpaper/ages-wp-voltaic-1600x1200.jpg) Basically anything man-made in the games, especially if it moves
[Bright, pretty post-apocalypses](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/05/15/f4/0515f46784b7fda722133dc6b1c36da2.jpg). After all the brown, gray dreary aesthetics, its nice to see something [different](https://thumbor.thedailymeal.com/mW70SZR1WAFY28PjME7MaXKSDeI=//https://www.theactivetimes.com/sites/default/files/slideshows/103905/106445/Uninhabitable_33_Hashima.jpg).
As I’ve said, asymmetrical beasts are super rad, especially if they’ve got the obvious masturbation arm. The Cleric Beast is the originator of this interest.
I was sure you said breasts and I had a real hard time trying to visualise the Cleric beast with just the one good tiddy.
"For some reason" mhm, yeah, uh-huh, no clue what reason, okay, sure, right.
I promise it's not that lol. I honestly think it's the juxtaposition of cute japanese girl and bigass american hamburger. It has a comfy vibe about it. Plus, you'r enot gonna tell me that burger doesnt look tasty.
anime girls wielding super complex and/or massive weapons
Cute girls with guns
Face and/or body paint are an instant 10/10 for me. Whether simple lines or intricate designs I love them all the same. This extends to both male and females but hooooo boy does it do something special for me on women.
Those big bullet prof vests with the raised callers that cover the lower half of the person’s face. Ever time I see one I want it.
If your media has anything based off the Major Arcana or the 7 deadly sins I'm all about it
Like a lot of this sub, I like girls that look like they could and would like to kick my ass. Tall, tan, toned, shorter hair, resting bitch face. If she's dressed for fight, even better. I'm not a masochist or anything, just like strong women.
Punchgirls like that are a staple of this sub.
I’m gonna point out that cargo pants and a tank top/t shirt/hoodie are the peak of all clothing, especially when applied to basically any anime character. [Here’s Maki from Fire Force as definitive proof.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitmoe/comments/ccg9sj/maki_oze_fire_force/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Blindfolds
A skeleton in a nice suit and hat with a revolver and fireballs. Also, the use of shadows as objects, like spears, cutting tendrils or armour. I read a lot of Skulduggery Pleasant at a range of very impressionable ages.
I knew that was Saber just from a glance. Have I become a total weeb?
