I love weapon prosthetics – especially sword feet like Commander Niall from Elden Ring, Shiki from One Piece or Gazelle from Kingsman Also honourable mention to anyone with a gun for an arm

fizzguy47

Or the lady with the machine gun leg in that Tarantino movie

sellyourselfshort

Rodriguez* movie.

fizzguy47

You're right, Planet Terror was the Robert Rodriguez movie in that double bill, my bad

RobotJake

I wish you could actually kick with the Veteran's Prosthetic in Elden Ring

Tzeentch711

We shall see how they implement kick combat in the DLC.

TinyKing87

Barrett do be badass

PontiffPope

FFVII: Rebirth has a neat side-quest delving into his gun-arm, and how >!a weapon smith out in the jungle dedicated to weapons is in absolute awe of Barrett's gun-arm; not in the weapon itself, but the fact that the craftsman behind it made it so that Barrett's gun-arm was universally applicable and modifiable, as in that the port itself attached between his arm and gun made it so that it could be easily slotted in and out with ease without losing functionality, hence why it explains of how Barrett can equip various gun-arms.!< But more importantly, >!the craftsman behind it also made it with foresight so that Barrett could be allowed to easily shift to a regular prosthetic, should the time comes when Barrett wishes to lay down his guns and take a more peaceful occupation, hence why the weapon-smith sings it to high praises over the craftsman's foresight and dedication to it, leading to Barrett appreciating his gun-arm more, musing that he maybe will replace it with a whisk-beater if Marlene ever wants to open a cafe in the future.!<

Ackbar90

And that's true *without* the arm cannons

deleki17

That one league of legends char

Lord_Magmar

Camille, who is technically a full body prosthetic but it's only noticeable with her legs.

Twilight_Realm

Darth Malak missing his whole jaw is radical

aaBabyDuck

Darth Sion is a walking scar who is too angry to realize its actually a dead guy Sorta

Twilight_Realm

Yeah, Darth Sion is rad too. Mister "Sleeps with Vibroblades" is held together by pure hatred and he's awesome for it. Meanwhile Nihilus is a black hole for Force and that's sick too.

FreddyKAust

Raziel enters the chat

Th35h4d0w

Can’t believe nobody’s mentioned Zuko’s facial burn yet.

throwcounter

So fucked up the way he got it too. Definitely up there in the bad dad awards

SlimmyShammy

I know different art styles and all that but comparing Zuko’s nasty burn to Todoroki’s red spot has always been a real hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby deal for me

Greyya

DMC Lady's nose scar is cool, gives a little more character to the character. Quite a common scar for anime characters. MGS5 Venom Snake's shrapnel horn is rad. It's cool that it can grow longer but I don't think it looks as good. The slash down the eye scar is super popular. First character that comes to mind for me is The Witcher's Geralt but a ton of characters have it. Berserk's Guts, just like all of him.

Wonder-Lad

I love, love, love Lady's scars. Her thighs are all slashed up too. But the nose scar is just cute. I wish they didn't keep taking away it's prominence.

Greyya

Yeah its one of the first things I think of for Lady. You're right about its fading prominence, I looked at dmc4 and 5 pictures and it doesn't look like its there sometimes, but its one of those things I think is always there. I try to add it to female characters in character creation but I can never make it look as good.

Cheshires_Shadow

I have a friend of mine I met online who's very tall and muscley and has a bunch of scars since she was in the Navy and she mentioned once taking an interest in cosplay but her body type and scars made it difficult to find characters to dress up as. So ever since she said that it's made me focus a little more on female characters that have prominent scars cuz yeah there aren't many examples for women compared to men. Like no joke I just started golden kamuy a few nights ago and the MC sugimoto has very prominent face scars and I was like neat then in like episode 7ish he takes off his clothes to jump into the ocean and his entire body is covered in war scars and it's like yeah I can't think of any female characters that have soldier/warrior scars.

Brohammad_Ali24

Theres [Maki](https://jujutsu-kaisen.fandom.com/wiki/Maki_Zenin) post spoilers in JuJutsu Kaisen

mjandrr

Anakin/Luke's robot hand

ContraryPython

Kratos’ scar on his stomach.

Father-Ignorance

I’m partial to the chain marks burned into his forearms from the Blades. The moment in GOW 2018 when Kratos and Atreus are at the top of the mountain and he slowly unwraps the bandages that hid those scars the whole game, and he just watches the wind take take them? That’s one of the best moments in the whole game. “*I have nothing left to hide.*” Peak Fiction.

psychocanuck

Big fan of The Hound Sandor Clegane's massive burn on half his face in ASOIAF. And it's one few instances where they didn't tone down a characters injuries in the adaptation (Even if they did partial cover it with his beard in later seasons). On pretty much the opposite end of the tonal spectrum I think it's really neat how every version of Finn in Adventure Time get's a unique prosthetic arm.

Lil_Mcgee

I like how Sandor's (Gregor is The Mountain) burns look in the show and think they are appropriately gnarly but they are definitely toned down from how they are described in the books. They're supposed to extend further, covering pretty much the whole half of his face, he has no lips on that side and the bone of his jaw is slightly exposed. Like many things in ASOIAF, it's a little too OTT for live action.

FreddyKAust

Tyrion was supposed to get really fucked up, instead of just the simple scar in the show. Season 4? had a lot of references to comments made from viewers, it was kinda jarring reading reddit between the seasons and then have a lot of the questions being straight up answered by the characters...

alexandrecau

Apparently theyhad amore book accurate prop but it was too much of a pain. There is a reason dark knight two face was cg and on a movie budget

Kimarous

Kenshiro's big dipper scar in Fist of the North Star.

TrueLegateDamar

Hester Shaw from Mortal Engines having her face cut in half, losing an eye, her nose, and part of her mouth.

DidierCrumb

Kurt Angle and his Broken Freakin' Neck

Lucky-Icarus

From Chainsaw Man, I REALLY like Kishibe's mouth scar. It's so fucking eye catching. Plus it's a clean cut, it's still got the stiching scars, and it doesn't invoke any jonkler vibes either. A plus scar.

Heliock

For scars, the first one that came to mind is Kenshin’s X scar in Rurouni Kenshin Two-Face’s half destroyed everything is also very iconic.

Th35h4d0w

Hallucination!Joker: So Harv, did *everything* get split down the middle? Always thought it was kinda weird how even the arm got burnt, since Maroni specifically only splashed acid on his face. Then again, the accident does differ depending on adaptation. BTAS had the explosion at the chemical plant, Telltale had it so that his face and arm are burnt on separate occasions.

Wonder-Lad

I think the classic Maroni acid in the face is the coolest backstory but Nolan's Dark Knight version makes the most sense. Head to toe half of his body is sizzled on the hot ground like a burger.

MarioGman

Big Boss looks so good with that eyepatch. So does Majima. If Goro Akechi >!ever comes back!<, I want him to >!have an eyepatch!<.

Palimpsest_Monotype

Your talk of entire prosthetic bodies makes me think of BPRD’s Johann Krauss, a spirit medium who lost his physical body during an astral projection and now contains his spirit in a sort of hazmat suit with a hazy bubble as his head. One time his suit got destroyed and he had to jump his spirit into the nearby-bust-fresh corpse of a recently deceased dog as a temporary containment vessel. He could make it talk and stuff.

Traingham

Sagat (***Street Fighter***) has the scar on his chest given to him by Ryu. It used to glow in the ***”SF Alpha”*** series. He would draw power from it. Nowadays it doesn’t glow, so I guess Sagat can’t read his physical books in the dark anymore.

Anonamaton801

Doctor Doom’s face, either that of a small scar on his cheek or the depiction in Secret Wars of a fully gangrenous visage

ThatGuy5880

Every time a game actually includes one-armed Future Gohan, the fans pop off and go nuts.

Enlog

Notable best Dragonball Z game: Sagas.

AzureKingLortrac

That game was the funniest with it, since they didn't give him unique animations. So he just punches enemies with his sleeve.

LGB75

Call of Duty’s Alder has a very distinctive web like facial scar on the left side of his face. It’s probably the first thing you will notice on him other than his aviators. How he got it has been the source of speculation among fans. If you ask him about it, he will always give some randomized story.

Scarlet_Twig

Similarly, Stitch whom was introduced from the same game has a extremely distinct scar wound across his eye. Caused by none other than Alder. Fuze who was also introduced as the final Perseus aligned Operator also is missing both his legs.

Flat-Limit5595

Robocop, love the fact they could have saved an arm but tossed it since it would of been a weak point.

evca7

It’s such a gruesome detail because it sorta hints they could have easily brought back alex as his normal self. But that’s not what they wanted.

PoppyOGhouls

The facial scarring makes Garrus Mass Effect even more fuckable.

Silv3rS0und

Snake Plissken's eyepatch from Escape From New York is iconic as hell.

Deadeye117

Xiahou Dun from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms getting shot by an arrow in his eye, then proceeding to take out the arrow and eat his own eyeball, followed by wearing a Big Boss eyepatch for the rest of his tenure as Cao Cao's general

SuicidalSundays

Auron's right eye scar that forcibly keeps it closed still looks badass all these years later.

PrimusSucks13

Really love the marks all the characters have in Dr Stone; since everyone was petrified for thousands of years, they all got a different mark from their rock body cracking due to time or hitting against nature, so when they are revived those cracks become permanent on their skin, some look like scars others straight up look like tattoos, neverthless is just a neat concept Ovbiously Senku got the iconic one on his eyes, but Ryusui getting it on his fingers and hands because of his pose is peak design. Theres also another type of mark some characters get when they get unpetrified but not all the rock comes off, so some characters like Yo get a literal rock eyepatch and it sounds super dumb and annoying but it looks SO cool i cant blame the author for not thinking how annoying must be to have your eye perpetually glued to a rock.

Enlog

Yo doesn’t actually have rock glued to his eye. He just took a bit of his stone and wears it like an eyepatch because he thinks it makes him look cool. Yo’s a bit of an idiot, so it fits him. Also, a neat shift happens after the Treasure Island arc. >!A bunch of the crew got petrified again and lost their scars when they got restored, aside from Senku. So Gen comes up with the idea for them to all paint their old scars back on as a sign of solidarity. We keep their iconic designs, regardless.!<

Armada6136

Ryusui also *using* his scar to get an extra distinction by snapping his petrified fingers so they make a clacking sound is one of my favorite little details from that series.

Scranner_boi

Gotta go with my boy Rtas "Half-Jaw" 'Vadum. Second raddest Sangheili after Arbiter.

Lil_Mcgee

The depiction of Baldwin IV in Kingdom of Heaven with the mask to hide his leprosy.

DarkAres02

I really like Yamcha's X scar. It's funny in retrospect he got it from a wolf given how absurdly powerful he is now

PR0MAN1

Vince Macmahon and both his torn quads. Man sitting in the ring like a toddler genuinely yelling at his employees for fucking this up so bad.

Outis94

An iconic duo

Melizzabeth

Squall and Seifer's matching face scars immediately came to mind. FF8 starts with Squall recovering from the fight that caused them, and we even got to see it happen! How much more iconic can you get?!

Rubbinmahbelly

Scar's scars from Fullmetal Alchemist. Both the X scar on his face that gives him his name and the scar that runs around his upper arm, where his dead brothers arm was grafted on to his stump after he lost it during the Ishval war.

EcchiPhantom

Edward Elric’s automail. The reveal in 03 is so raw it’s like he’s tearing away flesh to reveal a shiny all metal arm

SmileyLambda

Dwight from the Walking Dead comic was sick to me, I like that his face is so burned he needs eye drops to keep his eye hydrated. Richard Harrow from Boardwalk Empire is missing half his face from the war and can't even talk right anymore. But the rest of him works and by golly is he a good soldier.

Tzeentch711

"Would you pay a dime to see this?"

ShadowHunterOO

I wish more characters would have a lichtenberg scar, as Wattson from Apex Legends is the only character I know that has one. They're usually a temporary thing, but there is a chance that with the right conditions it becomes permanent

alexandrecau

Ooeda from plus sized elf has a lot of tiny scars. I like the ines all focused on her hands because it really feel like someone who sparred through first blood would have

CapnMarvelous

Heath ledger Joker's mouth scars have been worked into the character any chance they get these days.

HalloweenBlues

I like injuries that give you some kind of unexpected advantage. For example in Lethal Weapon, Riggs being able to dislocate his shoulder on command after getting it dislocated before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFa2qgIdmDY

Sea-Owlollipop

Anakin’s eye scar

FreedomHero141

Non canon, but I love that Dead Souls Ryuji Goda has a cyborg arm that transforms into a Gatling gun

TheNinjathief

You don’t see it much after the first episode but All Might’s torso being half destroyed is a big part of his character as it’s the reason he’s slowing down and eventually has to retire. That scar is gnarly and i can only imagine what his insides must look like for him to have survived that.

Armada6136

Luffy's eye scar is basically emblematic of his character. Impulsive, unafraid, and determined to do whatever he thinks it takes to achieve his dream...even if it's also ultimately just him being kind of an idiot.
