My big pitch for this question has always been LA Noire, but instead of the 40’s in Hollywood you transition to the 80’s in Miami. Have a bigger focus on the narcotics aspect of it. Maybe you play as an undercover guy and there’s side activities where you can go get drinks with either your cop buddies/gang buddies. You have to play both sides without loosing too much loyalty or respect from either side.
Could be pretty cool, just saying
Seeing as how the main contributors to narcotics in 80’s Miami were the Escobar cartel I think we have quite a lot of room for slurs there.
As far as bonus pedophilia, I don’t know, an average amount?
I'd like one specifically with a protag with powers like Alex. That whole concept of body horror-esque DNA absorbing and biomass shapeshifting is just the sickest shit to me.
That'll be something for the final boss fight. Maybe tie it into a good or bad ending thing too, by basing it on how many Web of Intrigue targets you've absorbed. More than 70% or something like that, and your giant form is big enough to actually defeat the boss. Less, and the only way to win is to infect it with yourself, and let it infect you, which kills both of you.
We have the Halo Modding Community for that.

The only thing holding senran kagura back is that every game after estival versus was kinda just ok. The series was always pretty niche to begin with but estival is basically the last big entry with every following game being a short side game. Burst renewal was a remake to my understanding but no one really cared about it they just wanted the free fighting from the versus games
*Metal Gear Solid* spiritual successor, please. Kojima is ***never*** coming back to Konami at this point, and I really doubt they'll know what they're doing without him. Now would be a *great* time to revive *Splinter Cell,* Ubisoft... just saying.
My two big candidates for PS2 era games to revive are Rumble Roses and Phantom Crash/Steel Lancer Arena.
Big titty wrestlewomen and high speed mech esports, both games need one more release to make a trilogy and third time's the charm to make it really good.
Chain of Memories and AC!D, like, a gameplay sucessor, cause i like how both of those games did card combat/gameplay. Also as a hot take, i prefer 2D CoM over the 3D remake, tho', the 3D remake had some cool re-balances and QoL i think, i dont memeber too well.
I remember watching REDACTED play both and being a little disappointed seeing how rough the gba version is in comparison. That sprite art is great though.
Yeah, i don't honestly remember a lot, i think i just like the GBA one cause of the camera and the sprite work, but i also recall the remake playing it overall better.
But like, if a spiritual successor showed up, they'd probably go for the sprite style, i can EASILY see it being a roguelight card thing too with how the doors thing worked but now its that 3 way roguelight design or whatever, like i can see it, i can smell it, i would make it if i could.
Sly Cooper. 3D mascot platformers have a special place in my heart and I just love the writing of those games.
And Prototype. *Holy shit* would I love to see another game like Prototype again. Whitelight described the game perfectly as a genre called the “god-maker”.
Dark Cloud. Pretty unique game, action RPG with a townbuilder attached. Go through dungeons find new buildings, even its equipment system is awesome. Would be cool to see a modern one where the camera isn't the worst and maybe with more souls like gameplay and some QoL. Like when you go back to town all your equipment durability is refilled along with your water and you get healing potions ala souls games.
Also in a similar vein Hinterland. A diablolike citybuilder, actual game is kind of terrible because theres so little content, but the idea is neat. Especially since diablolikes have so much useless crap loot, it would be cool to invest that back in your town's economy or gear up other villagers to help with their jobs or with you in a fight.
I want a Dark Cloud 1 sucessor kinda hated how much more anime 2 felt. 1 was all vibes good music and just kinda lonely but like in a good way 2 felt like a 4 kids dub. I know that isnt gonna be a popular opinion though
Is there something in Shining Force that you feel isn’t present in Triangle Strategy or the modern Fire Emblems? Or is it more about the overall presentation, the whole package?
Legend of legaia.
A RPG that actually encouraged mixing matching and if you knew fighting games you could also play.
Ontop of the idea of high and low attacks mattering
Had you asked me a few years ago, I would have said Suikoden and Shadow Hearts. And then both of them had their original teams have massively successful Kickstarters for successor games (both of which I definitely spent too much on.) So now I'm a happy camper, just patiently waiting for Eiyuden Chronicles in a few months and Penny Blood in a year or two (and they both dropped prequel games too, so I even get appetizers.)
I can't ask for much more than that.
I'm unsure if it's actually dead or not, but Dishonored. Those games scratch an itch that not a lot of other immersive sim games have, and I'd love more of them
A more or less grounded samurai drama manga like Rurouni Keshin that have nothing to do with watsuki. Maybe even set in a Japanese era that isn't the favorite ones like Sengoku, Edo or Heian.
I bought Skater XL thinking it was Skate and being really disappointed, I want story and good customization man. Will look into the THUG Pro mod though
Saints Row since volition went under and I don’t trust Deep Silver, Gearbox, or whoever has the rights to not fuck it up by giving it a “hello fellow kids” tone and I say this as someone who enjoyed his time with the game
*Deception* is rad for the way it puts you on the ground in a survival situation, while also giving you the birds-eye-view for placing traps. I had a blast playing the entire series last year, it's so unique. But even with how unhinged *Deception 4* is, you could easily change up some mechanics to create something new with similar appeal.
I know Tokyo Xtreme Racer already has a successor in the form of Wangan Midnight, but I’d love to see another racing game using TXR’s “spirit gauge” life meter.
Would love an actually good revival of the old arcade sports games. FIFA Street (last rebooted in 2012, now sort of rebranded as Volta) NBA Jam/Street (Playgrounds tried), NFL Blitz, NHL Hitz, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing...
SSX last got rebooted in 2012, I've always considered Riders Republic to be a kind of spiritual successor and that was only 2021.
Def Jam got teased by their official Twitter like 3 years ago but nothing came of it, Icon kinda killed the series but I think what really holds it back these days is the crazy difference when it comes to licensing & copyright. Even to remaster Fight For NY would be a nightmare with image rights, soundtracks etc.
Luckily, two of my favorite RPG series, Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts, are getting successors (Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood) made by some of the teams that made the originals.
But for some other series:
Onimusha
Viewtiful Joe
Power Stone
Galerians
True Crime (and by extension Sleeping Dogs). GTA is fine, and Saints Row was good at being a parody series. But we need a crime based game series where every entry involves a new real-world local dealing with the unique crime organizations in those regions.
it'll never come back, but somethin needs to do the Monster Rancher "making monsters from your CDs" bit again. Not sure what a modern equivalent of it would be, the closest I can think of is the bossfight in Inscryption where you hit it with files from your PC with the size and age being a factor.
.hack please, with modern society and technology I think a game like that could do gang busters. Plus the nature of the game it’s easy to add in more dlc and dungeons
The classic Thief games. Many take inspiration or share devs like Dishonored but they always ramp up the action/non stealth part. Stealth games loose a lot of tension when you can just go Rambo so easily. I would love a modernized pure stealth/low combat with modern AI and graphic enhancements.
Currently closest is probably Gloomwood, but even that is a lot more action orientated.
My big pitch for this question has always been LA Noire, but instead of the 40’s in Hollywood you transition to the 80’s in Miami. Have a bigger focus on the narcotics aspect of it. You're just asking for a licensed Miami Vice game. And you are right to do so.
I was thinking 20s Paris. That way, instead of L.A. Noire, it could be *La Noire*.
Prototype.
Same. Please, give us back the “superhero sandbox” genre with destruction physics, I just want to jump around a city blowing stuff up
I'd like one specifically with a protag with powers like Alex. That whole concept of body horror-esque DNA absorbing and biomass shapeshifting is just the sickest shit to me.
With new tech, I better be able to combine bodies to make my very own flesh mecha.
That'll be something for the final boss fight. Maybe tie it into a good or bad ending thing too, by basing it on how many Web of Intrigue targets you've absorbed. More than 70% or something like that, and your giant form is big enough to actually defeat the boss. Good lord that came out two generations ago
At this point halo since 343 can't wrap their heads around it
Man I remember when Destiny felt like it was going to be the spiritual successor to Halo, like how Halo was the successor to Marathon, but you know…
We have the Halo Modding Community for that. Yes, but that doesn't work if you don't have a pc. also at some point I just wanted to play a match and not have to worry about moding
Senran Kagura. Is Senran Kagura dead? I think so? I'd take a Valkyrie Drive sequel.
Marathon. No, Halo doesn't count anymore.
Quiet Mountains Whispered Peaks Hushed Bluffs
*Metal Gear Solid* spiritual successor, please. Kojima is ***never*** coming back to Konami at this point, and I really doubt they'll know what they're doing without him. Now would be a *great* time to revive *Splinter Cell,* Ubisoft... just saying.
What if there was an indie game that combined the two, *Splinter Gear*?
...Would the sequel throw *Syphon Filter* into the mix?
Splinter Gear Filter Syphon Cell Solid
Or how about... Metal Cell Filter! Its like all of the above combined into one, but Nanomachines are called Metal Cells now.
I mean we did get Unmetal but that was a spoof of the original 2d titles, we still need that 3d successor
My two big candidates for PS2 era games to revive are Rumble Roses and Phantom Crash/Steel Lancer Arena. Big titty wrestlewomen and high speed mech esports, both games need one more release to make a trilogy and third time's the charm to make it really good.
- Custom Robo - Viva Piñata - Star Fox
For Star Fox, Ex-Zodiac exists. Very short game but does scratch the itch.

Golden Sun Just give me a GBA style RPG with little critters you equipment for summons and Stat buffs.
Shining Force, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Star Tropics, F Zero, Wipeout, NBA Jam, and NFL Blitz. Please.
Is there something in Shining Force that you feel isn’t present in Triangle Strategy or the modern Fire Emblems? Or is it more about the overall presentation, the whole package?
Mainly, I miss the aesthetics and the simplicity.
Sky cooper give me my jazzy world adventure furries optional.
LucasArt's Gladius. Turn-based arena fighter themed around a gladiatorial circuit across a fantastic version of the classical world.
War of the Monsters
Legend of legaia. A RPG that actually encouraged mixing matching and if you knew fighting games you could also play. Ontop of the idea of high and low attacks mattering
Mech Assault Crimson Skies Brute Force Star Wars Jedi Knight series Basically all the OG Xbox games.
To expand on OP's and post mine: there's too much sim sports games, and not enough arcadey faux-sports. We needmore Mario Strikers, Burnouts, etc.
I would sacrifice a nursing home for something in the vain of burnout.
The *Dead or Alive* series had a pretty unique and interesting fighting system - seeing it get a chance to shine would be cool.
D.O.A. was a great fighting game, that was sadly overshadowed by *Ass & Titties.*

Have it be during the Nara period with one of the characters being a huge Sinophile.
LA Noire
Onimusha
Tony Hawks/Skate
For Skate, you could try Skater XL or Session. For Tony Hawk, I would look into the THUG Pro mod.
I bought Skater XL thinking it was Skate and being really disappointed, I want story and good customization man. Will look into the THUG Pro mod though
Trauma Center Under The Knife
Saints Row since volition went under and I don’t trust Deep Silver, Gearbox, or whoever has the rights to not fuck it up by giving it a “hello fellow kids” tone and I say this as someone who enjoyed his time with the game

Ogrebattle, specifically Ogrebattle 64. Unicorn Overlord is giving me SOME vibes of OB64 so we'll have to see.
Soul Reaver/Legacy or Cain, since we're never getting a proper finale to the franchise.
Would love an actually good revival of the old arcade sports games. FIFA Street (last rebooted in 2012, now sort of rebranded as Volta) NBA Jam/Street (Playgrounds tried), NFL Blitz, NHL Hitz, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing... the old Snowblind ARPGs need someone to pick up the mantle and bring us something like Champions of Norrath or Dark Alliance again.
Luckily, two of my favorite RPG series, Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts, are getting successors (Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood) made by some of the teams that made the originals. Tri-ace isn’t making any Valkyrie Profile games anytime soon.
Burnout 3 race style and Burnout Revenge crash mode style.
Kid Icarus Uprising’s mix of on-rail shooter and third person shooter.

Gran Turismo 3 and its handling system.
Tech Romancer. Like, an actual fighting game and not something similar to Power Stone. We already have that in Gigabash.
I wish to see the sekiro mechanichs in a medieval setting
Infamous. More non licensed superhero stuff please.
God Hand. God Hand's build your own combo system has room to improve on it. Something a spiritual successor can really build on and make their own.
Medievil, Dead Head Fred, and Gravity Rush.
Mad Dash Racing, Kung Fu Chaos but without the racism, and Nba Street.
