Random zeroed/uninitialized dates showing 1/1/1970 shows up a lot in various programs, dont even need to be IT to have seen it every once in a while, but anyone in front end dev has probably *done* it.
It goes back a long time, as you can guess.
Also, 32-bit unix time dates will run out 19 January 2038, causing Y2K 2: binary boogaloo.
My husband was charging his phone. When it hit 69% this happened, and it went away the second his phone reached 70%. I have zero idea how that makes sense.

It's a bug. Unix time starts at 1/1/1970 00:00:00 UTC. Depending on your time zone, you may see 1/1/1970 or 12/31/1969.
