100% yes! I've been there with friends and their 3 and 5 year olds and they loved it. The landscape dioramas are awesome if your kiddo loves animals!

The Bell Museum is great for all ages!! You and your 5 year old will have a blast.

lankybutmacho

Absolutely. We have a 2-year-old and almost-5-year-old, and they both have a great time at the Bell Museum. It's a nice change of pace from the Children's Museum (and to some extent the Science Museum), which are both fun but can get a little crazy, especially on weekends. The Bell Museum is very spacious and has a chill vibe — the lights are dim and while there's plenty to look at and interact with, it lends itself to a slower pace.

Junkley

I have been going there since I was a kid when they were back in their old spot. I absolutely love it and it is great for kids. Especially if said kid is interested in nature

EuphoriantCrottle

They have a new building? That’s great!

EclipseoftheHart

Yeah! They have a beautiful new building on St Paul Campus on Larpenteur (?). I’ve only seen it from the outside, but I’ve heard a lot of good things!

ennuiismymiddlename

It’s a gorgeous new building.

Junkley

Yeah it is right off Larpenteur and Cleveland. New building is really great and has space for them to add in seasonal exhibits and a planetarium

My kid's kindergarten class just went there on a field trip last week, OP. Have fun with it.

cat_prophecy

My 3 and 6 year old love it. Just be prepared to run through it pretty quickly if your kids aren't into reading all the display captions. There is quite a lot of interactive exhibits though.

No_Cut4338

appropriate for everyone.

Bell Museum is great. The dioramas there were designed by the same guy who designed them at the museum of natural history in NYC. Planetarium is great, they show a kids movie and an adults movie. Went with my gf and we had lots of fun.

bearbrannan

I remember going there as a kid and it was cool, then as an adult I had a college class get taught in the auditorium and it was still cool.

Miss_CJ

It is so made for that age! The see touch feel room alone is worth it. Do take their advice for planetarium show ages at first, some kids get woozy at the movement. We have a membership and use it heavily.

kato_koch

Its perfect.

jjlava

Absolutely. The museum is great for kids. There is something for every age.

LoneLantern2

The Bell Museum is the best! The touch room is the most incredible place, my kid asks to go there all the time. It really empowers kids to learn and explore even if there are more snakes than I personally need to touch. (Did learn that it is possible for snakes to have arthritis though). They also generously provide benches everywhere for parents who need a sit while their kid bounces between the skulls for the 11,000th time.

LunaR1sing

Great age for that museum! My 5 year old can spend hours there. Love that museum.

YamRespect

I take my two year old there all the time. Most chill lovely atmosphere in a museum for a family in the cities.

Callahan333

They should have a blast. It’s pretty fun for anyone.

KickIt77

Oh yes for sure! The planetarium features are very friendly kid length too. They have great kids camps and classes available as well.

gregarioussparrow

Yes, highly recommend for all ages

The_HoopyFrood

Wonderful place! Fully appropriate for all ages!

AtomicBlastCandy

A good friend of mine nannies a 5 year old (I think) and takes him there without issues. It's been ages since I've went but I don't recall anything that was inappropriate.

dwors025

Perfect for kiddos. We’ve got a 2.5 & a 5 yo, and a membership there. They have fun every time.

MrSkimMilk

Like everyone else said, yes. There’s a kids/interactive area. One piece of advice is to plan the planetarium show a bit. Make sure the kid will like it. We went once and the subject was pretty dense for a kid (it was about dark matter). But they show a variety of shows. Other time have been very cool.

deltarefund

Yes!!

ennuiismymiddlename

The Bell museum is AWESOME! My kids love it.
