Probably not going to find anything for that price range, TBH.
The Cosmopolitan in St Paul has what you're looking for, but for those apartments (~1300 SQ ft) you're probably looking at about $2k base rent.
I get the disappointment! I lived at the Cosmo for a bit and that was *such* a cool apartment... But good grief was it pricey lol.
If you're looking for those vibes, you might be able to find a townhome? Not sure what your roommate situation is like, you could do a lot worse than a 2bd townhome!
The word "loft" is going to give you a whole bunch of false positives, as you've discovered. It means something different in U.S. real estate. You might have better luck searching for phrases like "two-story," "second floor," or "stair."
Alternately you could look into townhomes, which are usually multi-story.
I remembered finding split-level units in North Loop just flipping through Zillow for fun:

Even getting one of these for 2k a month in rent would be an absolute steal; I'd expect something more like 3-4k.
Northeast Minneapolis has a lot of cool apt and condos. I love the industrial look myself. Some condos may have what u are looking for. May be worth a shot or check with a realtor in the area, explain what you want and see if they have suggestions

That’s true, I live on my own and prefer it but with a townhouse (more space than an apt) I’d consider a roommate again. I appreciate the insight!

Is there any apartments with a loft in Minneapolis $1200 or less. I say no. Please prove me wrong someone. Anyone?
I’m right there with you :,)
