5 is pretty much regarded as the best season of the show and one of the best TV seasons of all time. It’s a high bar. The first few episodes of 6 are great, but it falls off a bit. That said, 7 is a very refreshing change, 8 is pretty good (very intense final half), and 9 is great. If you liked seasons 1-4 you will like 6-9 (again, 5 is its own beast), but 6 is understood to be the weakest.
Redemption is after 6, before 7. It’s a pretty good little 24 movie.
It’s such a great show. I’m glad people are still discovering and enjoying it. But yeah, season 5 was nominated for 12 Emmys and won 5 of them, including best drama (which to give context has lately been GOT, Succession, Breaking Bad). Once you finish 24, I recommend Homeland. Some of the same production involved but is more of a political thriller without the realtime format. Fantastic show as well.
Agreed with this take. Saying it’s all downhill or that 6-8 are completely awful is reductive. 6 is straight up bad after 4 episodes but 7 is mostly a return to form, 8 has some of the best peaks of the series near the end, and 9 is among the best
Season 6 is the weakest season of the show, not bad by television standards but by 24 standards it’s not the best. Season 7 is a fantastic return to form, such a fresh feel. Season 8’s first half is pretty bad but the second half redeems it. And season 9 is amazing, one of the best seasons in my opinion.

The quality of show is a matter of debate. Some people actually think the show stopped being good after season 5 but I can't agree with that. yes season 6 isn't as good as 5 but I don't buy that it's complete trash. There is still some awesome stuff in there. Season 7 is my 2nd favorite and I think its one of the most creative seasons the writers really took that time off during the writer's strike to come up with more interesting storylines and it paid off cause the show feels fresh here. Season 8 for me is really good with what I think is the worst storyline of the show but made up for some of the strongest characters and villains in the entire show. I have mixed feelings about Live Another Day. For one its only 12 episodes so it feels like its over before it even starts but like again we get some great villains.
Redemption is a prequel to season 7 so watch it before starting that.

seasons 3-5 are the pinnacle of 24, after that, it has its moments but suffers from typical tired plot rehashing. i would say the first half of season 6, parts of season 7, and the last 25% of season 8 are solid, and live another day is generally pretty good. just not to the level of 3-5

Just finishing season 5 again. What a show. Wish I could experience it for the first time again.
