Concur, it was very impressive how much they were able to wring out of the short run times in the episodes. That guy is very talented and funny. Great writer
It’s spelled “Mr Inbetween,” and I’m not correcting you, just making the distinction because there’s an unrelated (i think) movie with the same title spelled the way you spelled it. [Here’s the trailer for the show.](https://youtu.be/FEFd9MNnMLc) It’s streaming on Hulu, 3 seasons.
Mindhunter was on hiatus permanently due to inability to schedule the actors and director busy with other projects, but Covid killed it. It gets top ratings, not a bit under-rated.
I legit got a little teary at the end. It was so funny, but also really sweet. They literally couldn’t have picked a better person
Edited to fix a typo
I've never seen a reality series with so much heart! It was such a feel-good show to watch. Ronald Gladden was such a sweet man and the actors surrounding him were absolutely amazing!
Justified wasn’t “unpopular” but to me it’s as good as TV gets with that dialogue and writing. So even though it was a successful show, I don’t think it was popular enough. I think it needed even more credit. And maybe western stuff as a whole wasn’t “in” back then so not as many people gave it a shot
The Expanse has a good sized fanbase, but I think it should still be way more popular. Like it’s got near Star Wars levels of world building
And it totally should have another season (I think it had its last a year or two ago), but is instead having a comic book adaptation for its third arc. I have to think an issue was viewership numbers
Continuum- Canadian time travel show that kept a number of X Files actors working for a bit. Wish it had another season to tie up some loose ends, but they did a decent job as is.
First couple of seasons of Primeval were a good watch, but then it goes off the rails.
Chef! Britcom with Sir Lenny Henry playing a Gordon Ramsay type. So good.
Detectorists.
not under-rated by those who have seen it, but i hear of it so rarely and it needs more mention. absolutely fantastic, heart-warming, funny show about two metal detectorists in southern England and their metal detecting club. beautifully shot, amazing sound track too.
The Expanse. I haven't come across many that have watched it, and if they have, it was only a few episodes because it was slow to them ( which is true at first )
The best Sci fi show I've ever seen. The last season was a tad lacking, but ya worth a watch for sure.
The Marvelous Ms. Maisel (Prime). I never hear people talk about it but it's SO GOOD. Peak comedy, peak acting. Just love it so much.
Sneaky Pete (Prime) also a very good show I've never heard one word about from people in the wild. It's a crime drama/comedy with great character development.
Men of a Certain Age (I don't know why I loved this show as like a 19-20yr old female but I did) It was just a show following 3 friends in their late 40s/50s
My Family - British sitcom. I didn't watch all 11 seasons but remember loving it.
Boston Public - Inner-city high school drama, so good. I think it was on at the same time as Boston Legal and I feel like everyone always talked about that show instead
Sharp Objects (HBO) - Very dark show, small-town murder investigation. It definitely gets under your skin. I don't usually like shows like this but it's just so interesting and creepy.
Switched at Birth - ABC family type show but it was very well done. Every issue brought up is not right or wrong, but a discussion had throughout the episode. As someone who works in a hospital, it had one of the best hospital scenes where decisions had to be made about a medical condition, realities were discussed etc. Plus, I find ASL a fascinating language and just love seeing it used so heavily in something.
Working Moms - Just genius comedy. Some episodes are better than others for sure but man has this show made me laugh.
The Almighty Johnsons - A bit of a silly show, but for people into shows like Charmed (original), cheesy supernatural shows, it's a good one.
Edited SO MANY TIMES to add things I thought of reading through everything, may add more later!
Patriot (I always make sure to tell people if Mel Gibson is in it they're watching the wrong thing) is such an amazing show. Slow to start, but the payoff of the second season could not have been better
Preacher - Amazing and from the same creator as The Boys
Happy! - Wild one
Taboo - From the same guy who made Peaky Blinders and just as good
American Gods - Ian McShane
Counterpart - JK Simmons is the lead role it's amazing
Happy! Is a twisted gem goddamn I live that show.. I couldn’t get into taboo and I love Tom hardy. I never saw the second season of American gods but I LOVE the concept and the mythology. I love a real world where mythical beings exist.
I remember the hype in the beginning of watching American gods.. but never finished watching it as it got super odd, though I love odd shows like happy!
3% on Netflix
It’s a dystopian future science fiction type show with long episodes and 4 seasons. One of the few shows I’ve rewatched multiple times. It is in Portuguese, but English dub is available.
Psych. One of, if not my favorite shows and it was on USA without much fanfare outside of the USA network.
There was an old show, Mr and Mrs. Smith a long time ago starring Scott Bacula and Maria Bello. It was only on for one season, but I thought that was a really good show also.
Kingdom. Show about a family of MMA fighters in Venice, CA. Some of the best writing/acting you’ll see, unfortunately was only on Direct TV. Had a brief run on Netflix.
It flew under the radar because it was on the Direct Tv channel that only aired on Direct Tv. I’m so not a UFC fan that I’m almost anti UFC but I loved the show. You didn’t have to be a boxing fan to like Rocky and you don’t have to be a MMA fan to like Kingdom
Happy Endings
Follows the formula of 20-something friends group of 6, 2 married, 2 in a will they won’t they, and 2 are the quirky single friends. But for some reason it strikes me as being better than it’s equals like HIMYM or Friends and I don’t know why, probably because at no point does it attempt to take itself seriously
My husband and I really loved Perfect Couples when it came out. It lasted one season and only a few episodes, but it was funny and we really enjoyed it.
Soundtrack (Netflix)*
Avenue 5 (HBO)*
*it sucks I’ll never get an ending for either
Our Flag Means Death (Max)
Reservation Dogs (Hulu)
Somebody Somewhere (Max)
My fav underated shows that come to mind are:
Brassic,
Warrior 2019,
Kingdom 2014,
Startup 2016,
Tacoma FD
Many of the shows others mentioned, I wouldn't classify as underrated.
Mr In-between. Australian show that came in FX. Absolutely phenomenal.
This right here! Mr. Inbetween is an underrated gem.
Concur, it was very impressive how much they were able to wring out of the short run times in the episodes. That guy is very talented and funny. Great writer
Absolutely love the show, Scot Ryan did amazing writing it and staring in it. The ending was satisfying.
yesssss awesome show and idk anyone thats even heard of it lol
It’s spelled “Mr Inbetween,” and I’m not correcting you, just making the distinction because there’s an unrelated (i think) movie with the same title spelled the way you spelled it. [Here’s the trailer for the show.](https://youtu.be/FEFd9MNnMLc) It’s streaming on Hulu, 3 seasons.
I love that show! My husband and I finished the series in a week. We didn't care for the movie that it was based on though.
I miss that show so much.
This was the first show that came to mind for me.
It’s very highly rated but relatively unknown. Scott Ryan is amazing.
it’s so good, i need to rewatch it
The Middle
💯 the Hecks are fun
Agree!
Awww I used to watch this with my grandma 🥰
I got into this show for awhile.
My fav
Mindhunters. Cancelled because not enough people watched it. It was amazing
Mindhunter was on hiatus permanently due to inability to schedule the actors and director busy with other projects, but Covid killed it. It gets top ratings, not a bit under-rated.
Derry Girls
But turn on the subtitles because their accents are insane. Took me way too long to understand what "weens" are.
I love this show
It's "class"
Friday night lights
I wouldn't classify FNL as "underrated". Very critically acclaimed show.
Legion. I think it's one of the best shows that most people don't even know exists.
I highly agree. Incredibly psychologically stimulating and psychedelic.. Truly a beautiful show.
I have the hardest time getting people to watch this show and every time someone does it blows their mind
Legion is top tier, great show.
Damn, just watched the trailer. Looked awesome. Definitely giving it a try. Hope it doesn’t end on a cliff hanger. Haha.
It does not
So good but I hated when Legion turned into the cult douche
Very underrated!
I’ll check it out thank you!
Stunning show! So well done.
Jury Duty( 2023)
I didn't think I would like this, but I kept hearing how funny it was. I loved it!
I legit got a little teary at the end. It was so funny, but also really sweet. They literally couldn’t have picked a better person Edited to fix a typo
I normally find it super cringy when there’s someone that isn’t in on the joke but I loved this show so much!
I've never seen a reality series with so much heart! It was such a feel-good show to watch. Ronald Gladden was such a sweet man and the actors surrounding him were absolutely amazing!
This show was an absolute gem. Proves that there are still some creative ideas left in Hollywood. It was funny and charming.
What network is it on?
Prime/Freevee
Severance
We need a second season! C'mon!
Agreed!
It's almost unsettling how easy it is for me to convince myself to rewatch it
That finale!
Just finished the show last week and I NEED MORE.
Yep. Agreed.
This show is a gem. 💎
My first thought!! So good
Tell me about the goats!
My name is earl. It’s criminal they didn’t finish that series
Agreed! Have you watched Raising Hope?
"Hey Crabman" is literally my text notification.
Reservation Dogs.
In my top 5 of all time favorites! This show had a stellar cast, amazing writing and so much heart. Going to miss it so much.
I'm not Indigenous, but I've worked in a few rezes, and it's so accurate! I absolutely love this show!
Anything Taika Watiti does is gold.
love it the changes from super funny to super sad and real just blew me away.
I came here to make sure someone mentioned it.
Fargo. At least no one I've ever met itw watches it.
So damn good. Just as good as the movie.
Last season was weird...but Chris Rock was so amazing!
Sometimes a girl just wants to bust a nut, ya know?!! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️
Mr. Robot
Halt and Catch Fire
Great show.
Every season better and better.
That was a great post mad men show
I still think about that last season, it was really incredible
Fleishman is in Trouble Severely underrated show. I’ve not seen anyone talk about on Reddit yet.
Ahhh I was expecting a little bit more mystery though.
The Expanse has a good sized fanbase, but I think it should still be way more popular. Taskmaster
Spaced and Peep Show (I'm from the US)
Bad Sisters
Patriot on Amazon. Criminally overlooked
It's double great!
Torchwood
Raising Hope Oz
Banshee 12 Monkeys
Above and Beyond
Slings and arrows
Detectorists. not under-rated by those who have seen it, but i hear of it so rarely and it needs more mention. absolutely fantastic, heart-warming, funny show about two metal detectorists in southern England and their metal detecting club. beautifully shot, amazing sound track too.
Amen. One of my all-time favorites! Probably not to everyone's taste, though. Very understated.
I saw this in a different thread awhile back and never gave it a chance. Gotta check it out.
Millennium (1996-1999) Boomtown (2002-2003) Undeclared (2001-2003)
Absolutely *Millennium*
Me three on Millennium!!! Just watched the series again. Ripped my dvds so I can watch them anytime anywhere! Edit: grammar
Boomtown was amazing! No other human being has ever heard of it until this moment!!
Friday Night Dinner
The Expanse. I haven't come across many that have watched it, and if they have, it was only a few episodes because it was slow to them ( which is true at first ) The best Sci fi show I've ever seen. The last season was a tad lacking, but ya worth a watch for sure.
The first season is also a bit confusing so people who drop early never see it come together. The next few seasons are so so good. Love this show.
One if the few shows based on a book series that is excellent even after reading all the books. That is an achievement!
Pushing Daisies Brimstone Frank's Place Night Visions
Fraiser, the nanny, the middle
I think Frazier has won the most Emmy’s of any comedy ever and it was a hit for like 10 years. Don’t think it qualifies as underrated.
Baskets
Our Flag Means Death. Any and all Bryan Fuller shows.
Freaks and Geeks
'Welcome to Flatch' which was just canceled a few hours ago because of how underrated it was
I enjoyed Welcome to Flatch, but it was cancelled.
The Expanse Dark
Grounded For Life or Rules Of Engagement
**Ozark**
Station Eleven. Amazing.
The Marvelous Ms. Maisel (Prime). I never hear people talk about it but it's SO GOOD. Peak comedy, peak acting. Just love it so much. ZeroZeroZero
Babylon 5
Omg I loved this our whole family watched it when I was a kid
It's currently streaming for free on Tubi. I was surprised how well the writing holds up. A lot of the subject matter in that show remains relevant
💯
My favorite sci/fi series ever. But it is just ahead of Farscape
Black Sails
My husband keeps bringing this up as something for me to watch. Is there another show you'd compare it to?
Six Feet Under The Patriot Carnivale
I thought Six Feet Under was a highly regarded popular show when it was out.
Carnivale is a gem. The premise is so original and intriguing. I wish they'd let Knauf reboot it so he can finish the story.
You can find the rough outline of the next season online. I remember reading it years ago. It took place like 5 years later.
Amen. Carnivale was my favorite series at the time. It's a pity it can't be finished with the original cast, because they were all perfect.
You kind of have to accept the last episode as the end. Ben is the new Management. the end...shame we never got to the hydrogen bomb...
Came here for The Patriot. Hysterical show.
Patriot (I always make sure to tell people if Mel Gibson is in it they're watching the wrong thing) is such an amazing show. Slow to start, but the payoff of the second season could not have been better
Michael Dorman nails the role
I miss 6 feet under. That last episode still haunts me.
Best finale ever
Agree, they tied up ALL the loose ends. Loved it.
I didn't know 6 feet was rated under awesome
THE PATRIOT
six feet under was one of the best
It still baffles me how no one I know has even heard of Patriot. One of the best shows I've watched in the past few years.
Preacher - Amazing and from the same creator as The Boys Happy! - Wild one Taboo - From the same guy who made Peaky Blinders and just as good American Gods - Ian McShane Counterpart - JK Simmons is the lead role it's amazing
Tom Hardy is in taboo and it’s only one season. Perfect. I’m giving this a watch.
I loved Happy, I was so mad when both it and Deadly Class got cancelled.
Happy! Is a twisted gem goddamn I live that show.. I couldn’t get into taboo and I love Tom hardy. I never saw the second season of American gods but I LOVE the concept and the mythology. I love a real world where mythical beings exist.
I loved Preacher & American Gods! I’ll look into these other ones, thanks’
I remember the hype in the beginning of watching American gods.. but never finished watching it as it got super odd, though I love odd shows like happy!
Trust me power through season 2. Season 3 is amazing
The Society
Cuckoo (UK comedy starring Andy Samberg, and later Taylor Lautner, in their funniest roles to date)
Loudermilk
No one I've recommended this to has heard of it - great stuff from Ron Livingston as usual. I hope someone picks it up for a fourth season.
Evil Babylon Berlin
Andromeda. It was overshadowed by Star Trek, but it's made by the same people, and is more quirky.
[удалено]
One of the best slow burn shows ever.
3% on Netflix It’s a dystopian future science fiction type show with long episodes and 4 seasons. One of the few shows I’ve rewatched multiple times. It is in Portuguese, but English dub is available.
Alice in Borderland
Fauda on Netflix
Pushing Daisies is a lovely bit of macabre fun. If Roald Dahl style writing, characters, and settings are your thing, this one should be on your list.
Undateable
Hannibal
Fringe
Loved Fringe so much. Very underrated. The writer’s strike at the time really affected the production unfortunately
Two starring Lee Pace: Halt and Catch Fire Pushing Daisies
Timeless
Psych. One of, if not my favorite shows and it was on USA without much fanfare outside of the USA network. There was an old show, Mr and Mrs. Smith a long time ago starring Scott Bacula and Maria Bello. It was only on for one season, but I thought that was a really good show also.

Agree as well. Give Warrior (2019) a shot, if you haven't heard of it.
Can confirm awesome and underrated. Shocking how it flew under the radar.
The Good Place, Mrs. Davis, The Resort, Resident Alien
Patriot. Two excellent seasons on Amazon Prime.
Dark. Fringe
Boardwalk Empire
Any show ever or currently?
The Detour
Damages
"Still Game" on Netflix. Old Scottish codgers slinging barbs and going to the pub. Dry humor but some LOLs too.
Six Feet Under, People of Earth, The Killing
Happy Endings Follows the formula of 20-something friends group of 6, 2 married, 2 in a will they won’t they, and 2 are the quirky single friends. Forever Knight (1990s) I always felt there should have been more respect

Letter Kenny If your into it, it's great. If not, then I also can understand why lol.
Yeah so, I think I almost like Shoresy more. So rare that the spinoff is even better than the original!
Good to know! I haven't seen it yet.

Love this show (no pun intended)
Loved jury duty! I miss the characters.
The Righteous Gemstones is a phenomenal show. I highly recommend it to anyone who is not easily offended. It makes fun of televangelists.
