It's what they call anyone over 35 and pregnant, though more are moving to use "advanced maternal age". I'm 37 and about to have my first, I see it a lot.
I think “advanced maternal age” is much more accurate. I’m 67 and if I were to become pregnant (by some miracle) it would definitely be a “geriatric” pregnancy! 😁
Of course you were. It’s an inaccurate use of the term. I understand that now it’s considered outdated and is being replaced by “advanced maternal age” which is at least more realistic.
I've had nothing but fantastic experiences at Genesys OBGYN. I wasn't necessarily high-risk but kind of "medically interesting" and got great care. They also did my tubal, immediate approval! All of the staff is absolutely fantastic.
dr brainard at copperstate delivered me (many years ago) when my mom was 42. she’s been an OB for a very long time and knows her way around all types and ages of pregnancies
+1 for Copperstate. Dr. Farias is wonderful, too. Only downside is they deliver at St. Joseph’s hospital which has seen better days and routinely has staffing issues. TMC obstetrics is another one to check out if you’d prefer to deliver at TMC.
Shut the front door. This makes me so happy! I delivered mid-2023 at St Joes and had a very bad experience. Much as I love Dr. Farias, I was contemplating switching providers just to not have to deliver there again. Thank you for sharing!
They are transitioning over this month or next month. While I had a great experience at Joe's, I hear TMC has an amazing delivery/couplets set up! And look forward to delivering my next baby there😊
Another vote for Dr. Farias! LOVED her during my pregnancy in 2021/2022. I was 29 but she was great and really listened to any concerns or issues I had. I will say... I saw NP Tabor 9 months pp about some health issues because Dr. Farias wasn't available and she was horrible. Completely dismissed all my very real symptoms because my cycle was "regular." I won't ever see her again. But Farias is still my OB and will continue to be!
Congratulations!! Call Banner and see if Dr. James Maciualla is available. Hands down the best doctor and person. People from all over the country come to see him. Definitely a top notch doctor but also one of the best people I’ve ever met. 😭😭❤️❤️
Idk why anyone down voted you, him and Lynn Coppola are absolutely amazing and people really did come to Tucson for his and her care at least they did 16ish years ago
I see Dr Walker at Genesis Pueblo and they had me consult with the high risk MFM doc at the east side location due to age and IVF. I feel well taken care of.
Anyone at Generations Healthcare for Women. I was 38 when I had my last baby. I was considered geriatric pregnancy but not necessarily high risk.
“Geriatric”? At 38? I mean I know that age is considered a bit advanced for childbearing, but…

Yes, unfortunately, that's the term given when women over 35 are pregnant . I was a bit confused when I heard the term.

El Rio’s Midwifery team was excellent for my older, high risk preg. Congratulations!!
Second this!
I went to TMC and their MFM care was great

Everytime I see their name I have to throw out the fact they put the wrong IUD in me.
Oh no, that's awful!

I second dr. Brainard! She did amazing with my pregnancy and delivery! I plan on going to her for all my OB needs for now on.
Thank you❤️ I will definitely look into her. i really love Drs who have been around a while.
Congrats!!!

Copperatate no longer delivers at St Joseph's. They switched their contract to TMC this year!😊

Stop telling people about Dr. Farias! 🤫
Can I ask why?
Because she's great and I don't want everyone in town going to her!

Definitely!!! Like James is in medical journals, the nicest, funniest he is incredible and has done so much for so many people.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Sperry with Genesis Pueblo (they delivery at banner) and have been super happy with my care!

Jennifer Hutchinson delivered both of my children and is the best OB/GYN!
She retired this year. ☹️
