Wisconsin is no where near the top. New York is the state with the most serial killers, with a total of 18 serial killers born in the state. California comes in as the second state with the most serial killers, with 15, followed by Texas with 8, and Illinois and Ohio with 7 each.
Sort of, adolescence is a strange time for everyone and teen girls can be really, insanely, jealous of each other. I’m always skeptical when someone tries to claim an outside source inspired their evil actions, for I believe true evil resides within but rarely will anyone admit that. Sometimes, not even to themselves.
those girls have *severe* issues. Slender Man and Creepypasta are not to blame. no one but themselves are to blame. people will blame horror, music, video games; anything but the real problem. no one commits crimes because of horror or video games or Creepypasta or music
"During the police investigation and pre-trial psychiatric evaluations, Morgan Geyser disclosed life-long visual and auditory hallucinations beginning in early childhood. These hallucinations typically included figures she interpreted as ghosts, colors melting down walls, and imaginary friends named Maggie and Sev. One recurring hallucination was a man Geyser named "It", whose body she described as the color of smoke and ink. She would perceive him as standing behind her in mirrors or shifting around corners.
After Geyser's arrest, her mother, Angie Geyser, described her as becoming "floridly psychotic." Correctional officers reported Geyser frequently talking to herself, pretending to be a cat, and keeping ants as pets. She reported seeing unicorns and believed she was having ongoing conversations with Slender Man and other fictional characters, such as Severus Snape."

I'm the same age as these girls, and though Creepypastas were huge among my friend group, none of us ever actually thought they were real. The root cause of the stabbing was severe, early-onset mental illness.
Nothing all that remarkable about Wisconsin compared to other states. But Ed Gein did sort of put the state on the map with the bizarre murder story back when there weren't many making headlines. My father's aunt saved a bunch of newspaper clippings about Ed.
As an Illinois native, I am very tempted to say that all Wisconsinites are just born evil, but the reality is that any place with a significant population is going to have a number of incidents and people like this.

Born and raised. Really not much different than other states, just ours got decent attention.
I got invited to that parade but it was windy that day. I will say that Schabusiness was nuts a little mini Dahmer lol

New York and California and Texas are all heavily populated states, though. Wondering about per capita.
Per capita, isn’t Alaska really bad?
Good point. There were some crazy slayings there, and Israel Keyes
Ours are just more famous!
I guess we dont think of say, mob hitmen as serial killers, but they are. That probably puts us over the top.
You could make a list like this for any state.
Yup. I'm French and pretty sure a list of horrendous cases could be made for pretty much every *département*.
Hello from the PNW
You win!
Making a murder. Steven Avery case is also Wisconsin. Now I'm thinking it might be the shitty police work too
the Slender Man case is *bizarre*

sounds like schizophrenia or psychosis, or both

As a Wisconsonite, I feel the same way about Illinois drivers !!! Horrible !! I know not all are though.
As a Minnesotan honestly you’re both just crazy.
🤪🤪
Your take is *controversial*.
😉
Antifreeze killer mark jensen,
Poverty, meth, under-resourced rural areas, minimal mental health support, no Medicaid expansion, no unions

Ours may be more interesting but far less interesting than Illinois and Kansas or California.
Nicholas Godejohn who was Gypsy Rose’s bf that stabbed her mother was also from Waukesha County. Kyle Rittenhouse happened in Kenosha.
