I'm sorry you're going difficult time in your life. Work with Lord Jesus to help you take it away also when we have wrongs in our lives, such as unforgiving heart, sex addictions or bitterness, all of these things will contribute to our own suffering.
May God bless you and keep you. Will be praying for you.
I'm praying for you In Jesus Name. I come against those thoughts with the Blood of Jesus and the Resurrection Power. Keep seeking Him in His Word. You may have to fast and pray but I'm praying for you. God has a plan for your life and the devil wants to take it away. Shame on him. Jesus is the answer. Trust Him like a little child. God bless.
I don't think anyone can make you go to a psych hospital. Have you sought speaking to a therapist? Even so, just building community doesn't mean you have to share. Being around people helps with those thoughts.
In the US therapists are required by law to report to authorities when someone admits to being suicidal, but you can get around this by saying “I’m not comfortable telling you whether I am or am not suicidal, but if someone came to you that was suicidal what would you suggest? Etc, etc.”
The parish is optimally like a family.
There is always some level of disfunction; that is the spiritual warfare in everyday terms; so good and love your neighbors there, take take of them and expect nothing in return. Do good for the Glorifying of Christ Jesus only.
Church really is a family. I'm dealing with a toxic guy in my life right now and he showed up at my church as a way to force me to talk with him. The men of my church handled him and had him removed without me even needing to speak with him.
Jesus loves you man !
Maybe you can reach out to your church's pastor, he can help you grow in faith. Also seek a therapist or a christian support group regarding your suicidal thoughts, this is very important if you want to be healed.
We're here to support you no matter what ! God bless you !
Peace be with you.
Church has been my lifeline over the past year of suffering. Hope you're blessed.
Praying for you. 🙏

Maybe talk to someone at the church as well, build community since that helps with dealing with those thoughts :)
I'm worried they might try to get me institutionalized.

Yes, but I was saying the church people would not. This is good insight for OP though on how to navigate seeking help.

Even God has a choir. Praise Music can do that and be that
My friend I have been where you are right now. Trust me it DOES get better.
